I Love It!

Wife here. I am super excited about this machine. It was a little hard to get out of the box and I had to consult Youtube to figure out what goes where. I also had to get used to there being no trigger. Pushing forward means clean and pulling back means dry. There's no trigger. This machine is light as a feather and easy to maneuver. To my delight, I was able to complete three rooms, whereas my old machine would only do one room on a full tank. It's easy to clean the machine after use. You dump the filthy water out of the reservoir and snap the clear plastic thing off the bottom and rinse under running water. I appreciate the storage bag and mat. The attachments and instructions safely in the bag out of the way, and they will never get lost. I just walked on the carpet after an hour and it's almost completely dry on a rainy day. I no longer have to plan cleaning the carpet around the weather or time of day. I'm so glad I read the reviews and didn't buy another ****** brand." I would normally not have considered a Hoover, but the reviews and demos of the top five brands on Youtube were convincing.

Easy to use and to clean afterwards, VERY effective on cat urine

This machine is lightweight and very easy to use. I love the fact that it doesn't have a trigger for the solution, like most of its competitors. It's also VERY easy to clean the machine, tanks and rollers after each use. I got this because one of my cats has taken to peeing in one spot on the carpet at the bottom of the basement stairs. We were traveling and so this occurred daily for two weeks until we came home. (The house sitter didn't find it). After finding a way to keep the cats out of the stairwell, I used my new Hoover with the Deep Clean & Neutralize carpet cleaning solution to wash the carpet. After the first thorough treatment I was very happy that it had removed all of the smell. There was still a stain where the worst of it was, so I treated it again. The stain came out! This machine saved me from having to have the carpet cut out and replaced. Yay! I am super happy with this product.

Major Improvement to Ease of Use & Cleaning

We have had dogs and several carpet cleaning machines for decades now. I only used the Hoover SmartWashPlus carpet cleaner once so far in the room where two dogs sleep. However, do to extensive prior experience with these machines, I feel qualified to assess the Hoover, except for reliability of course. Build quality and design are outstanding. It is a BIG step up to the 5 yr+ older Bissell Pet Pro model it replaced. Specifically; 1) Three tanks (soap, clean H2O, and dirty H2O) is easier to use than a two tank design. No silly water/soap ratio mixing. The ability to remove the soap tank and just run a rinse only cycle is very smart. 2) The automatic wash moving forward and dry moving backward is intuitive and much easier to do than trigger control designs. Additionally, the Dry Only button is money to finish the job. 3). Cleaning the Hoover after use is WAY easier; no tools, no screws, everything is easy to disassemble, rinse, reassemble!! BOTTOMLINE: Highly recommend, carpet cleaning quality was great, won’t have to send dogs away ????

real review from a long time Bissell user

First of all this carpet cleaner brought up dirt left behind by a professional cleaning service. I bought a house with carpet and I can't replace the floors yet. I hired a well known company to clean every bit of the carpet and it wasn't cheap. I immediately noticed my socks were still picking up dirt. Gross. I have used Bissell machines in the past but I liked the reviews on this Hoover. It was easy to assemble, reasonable weight, {small woman using} and fair price. Here's what I don't like. There isn't a trigger to dispense the soap/water onto the carpet. And here is why it matters. I like to be able to scrub a stubborn spot for a while without more liquid being dispensed and/or suction being on. This machine is either dispensing liquid with brushes turning {regular forward motion} or suction on {regular backward motion} or brushes on with suction {dry only mode}. No scrubbing only. Bummer. I also don't like the machine determining the soap to water ratio but it's an easy work around. You can either dilute the shampoo with water in the soap dispenser or bypass the separate soap bottle completely which I did. . I added my own soap 'recipe' to the water tank directly. My carpets look great for 20% of the price for a pro company to do a mediocre job. If I figure out a hack to 'scrub only' I will update. Hint...I have a 17 year old Shihtzu so I have a go-to for removing stains but PLEASE check that it wont bleach or otherwise damage your carpet. I mix 3:1 peroxide with water and spray directly on carpet before using the carpet machine. I have damaged an area rug with it but it it's a miracle on my off white carpet.

Its a Hoover!

I have two indoor dogs. The little on starts on pads, but does finish there. Cleans residue after solids are disposed of. Older dog (13) gets sick and has upset tummy and spits up!! NO JOB for Hoover. clean as whistle. NOTE: aways empty the retainer that holds the dirty water immediately. This is my second in 7 years.

Fantastic!

I had an older Hoover machine that Did an okay job. Love that I don’t have to push any buttons to wash. Love the button to keep on drying mode to go over the carpet one or two more times. Carpets are fully dry in about an hour. Very easy to clean the machine. Only complaint I’d have is that make sure you have your drain catch in if you are removing the brushes because I guess you could call it a bearing of some sort, the part you lift out to get the brushes does pop off and the small “bearing” popped out. But easy enough to put back together. I have 3 dogs and this really helps to clean up behind them. The hose extension is longer than our previous machine so it can reach a lot of puppy accidents without having to move the entire machine. The mat it comes with is great because all these machines tend to leak a little after use. Anyways if your thinking about a machine I’ve bought a couple different ones and this is a great investment!
