Very good scraper!
I used this to scrap over 300sq/ft all over my head over three days and this scraper made it possible! No way a standard scraper could have ever done this. I used three carbide blades (the one installed and two replacements to complete the job but again I could never have done this with a standard metal scraper, the carbide holds up and really does a great job. I was getting 50sq/ft from each carbide edge or 100sq/ft per replacement blade (2 edges per blade). My local Sherwin Williams store (who wholly owns Purdy) did not have this scraper in stock nor the replacement blades, which really surprised me since it is way way better than the standard scrapers they had in stock and not much more cost. I think that using a hex headed clamping screw would be an excellent upgrade since the original screw seems cheap and rounds out pretty easily, I deducted one star from the durability because of this. I managed using it as is, but that would make this scraper nearly perfect. I am going to pickup a replacement screw (with a hex head) at my local hardware store to make this thing ready for my next project. It works and it works very well, so if you have some scraping to do don't hesitate to get this product in your hands, you won't be sorry.

Don’t drop the blades
First one had a broken blade. Very bridle do to the hardness. Just be careful, but stays sharp and scrapes very well.

Bought two
Works really well. My dad was me using this on an old table and had to try it be liked it so much I ordered one for him. He promptly used it to scrape paint off from on house. I've used it on paint and varnish, even multiple layers of paint. Have duplex out the blade and ordered replacement blade. Would have liked instructions on how to sharpen it.

Recommend this product, but be aware the blade is slightly curved...it is not flat.
Seems to be well made and beefy. The quality of the casting and handle are good but you can tell a little attention to detail is lacking, however, finer detail would certainly cost more and after all this is just a scraper. I have the Bahco (Cadillac) scraper similar to this, and this Purdy's is larger and has a metal end to set nails which is a nice feature, but not often used. The only issue for some may be the blade...it is 2 ½" wide but has a slight curve (it is intentionally designed this way) unlike my Bahco. I think the flat blade on the Bahco is better for most surfaces, but some may like this slightly curved blade...I would choose a flat one for most work. Its a keeper, but I bet I find myself reaching for the Bahco more often than not. I recommend this product.

very sturdy
Very sturdy and durable, however it is a little too bulky

Big time saver
How did I not know these existed??? This tool will & has saved me hours as I scrape & repaint windows and trim. I have a house from the early 1900’s with Anderson windows. It has “alligatored” paint from years of poor prep before paint. This tool hasn’t broken a blade yet and not been too hard on the window either. I suspect people having issues might not have watched any videos on how to use the tool. Anything that saves me time sanding is worth it’s weight in gold to me! Would highly recommend.

Does not work well
When I received this the screw that holds the blade in place came stripped so I had to search for a screw that would fit.. also it only covers a very small area compared to the size of the blade and it leaves big scratches in the wood.. just very disappointed with it..

A Must for Caked-On Paint!
We've been restoring our older home and the trim is caked with paint. I've tried other stripping tools and by far this one is the most amazing for flat surfaces like doors and baseboards. I use the Sherwin Williams Smart Strip paste to coat the surface, cover with a heavy plastic and set overnight, then come in with the larger stripping tools, re-coat and cover, then finish off with my detail/contour tool set. Usually I only get 1/2 of the paint off the first round, but with this tool, almost all of it came right off. It comes with a carbide blade but order extras so you'll have them on hand.

Not bad, but not as good as expected.
I figured with a name like Purdy, this would be one of the best. I was rather disappointed to find that with a 2-1/2 inch surface it only scrapes a path about 1 inch. The scraper is not flat. It's actually bowed. If I had wanted a 1 inch scraper, I would have ordered one.

Good
Works really well. Used to remove glue from concrete and this tool made it super easy. My only frustration was that i had to take it apart just to get the cardboard label off.

Well built
I haven't used it yet but I can say it seems like a solid, well built tool. I would have preferred one side of the blade to be flat with rounded corners rather than convex. It looks like both sides are convex with a different radius on each.

No blade included, buyer beware
Very unhappy I bought this product. There is no blade included and no information about what kind of blades the tool requires. Thinking of returning it!

Excellent
Finally a product that works as advertised. Scrapes easily and lasts a long time.
