Just what expected

6 in 1. I think the price is correct. Quality product your not going hammer a 10 Penney nail through a 2x4. But you can tap a little wire nail into the wall to spackle over it. Do not expect it to be sharp or perfectly flat. It is a 6 in 1 paint scraper, not for finish work and not a chisel. It is almost perfectly flat, good for shaping paint, spreading putty and spackle pulling wire nails, opening paint cans .... 6 in 1 stuff. I think some of bad reviews are do to a confusing listing in amazon. The have several tool types in the same listing. Maybe some if the are bad, maybe there are some mistakes, like to get person that received a curved scraper. Mine was nearly perfectly flat.

6-in one

I do use the butt end as a tool for anchor holes often. The regular 5-in one doesn’t seem as -well, -I don’t know… doesn’t indent small holes for patching the same for sure. This one has a better all around feel too for some reason.

Awesome tool for certain uses

This tool surprised me, it works extremely well if you have one layer (two coats) flaky cracked brittle paint. Thats where it shines. I easily removed paint down to the wood on most all my siding quickly with this. It did not work well on very old trim/fascia paint (3 layers with bottom layer probably old oil based) because you could either gouge the wood easily or it would just slip over the paint. That either got removed with a heat gun or got sanded with a 5 inch power sander.

Plate that holds blade down was rusty.

Returned first one; obvious signs it was used and plate that holds blade down was very rusty. Kept second one although plate was a little rusty. Had a project to finish. Scraped paint off well.

Great for SLA printing

I use this to remove prints from my SLA printer. It is nice and thin and flexible. Much better than the knife that came with the printer. That one sliced my fingers from sharp edges. This one is comfortable and feels durable.

Every Handyman Should Have One

I've been a home handyman for years but didn't own a Painters Tool until recently. Now that i have one, i regret not getting one sooner. This one is well built. The edge is great for scraping, small chiseling. The handle end serves as fine in-a-pinch hammer. Just a really handy tool to have in your box or bag or drawer.

A solid investment

[Pat’s True Review: I bought this. 2020] I have been using those cheap Dollar Store 6-in-1 for years thinking they were all the same, and now profoundly regret not buying a Purdy before. What a fool I was! A thick and properly rigid blade makes a world of difference when opening a paint can or cleaning a roller sleeve. The heavy tang that goes through the handle ends in a rounded cap that makes enlarging dimples in sheetrock before filling with your favorite mix of plaster a breeze, and the rubberized handle itself is far better than a hammer to close up the lid airtight. Altogether a well-crafted essential tool and an investment that will probably last me for the rest of my days. I really should have done that a long, long time ago. Any homeowner or DIYer should have one in her or his toolbox.
