Glad there is a size to fit my old Lab

I live in the Panhandle of Texas and we have high winds throughout the year, I have yet to have 30+mph winds push the flaps open or allow the red dirt in. Measure 4 times and outline both sides of the door to make sure it fits and no coming back with shaving sides. I cut the hole a quarter inch wider though as I used a tube of silicone all the way around the inserts to give extra sealing and future weatherproofing from rain or dust. Also lay a bead of silicone around the exterior edge for better weatherproofing.

So Far So Good!

We have four dogs - three shelties and one great pyrenees. The great pyrenees is a puppy and demands to go out - and in - dozens of times a day. Actually, one of the shelties does the same thing. My husband had enough, did a fair amount of research and settled on this doggie door. It took him a few hours to install it in our metal mission-style door. He said it wasn't that hard, and within a short time one of the shelties and the great pyrenees - after some prodding and instruction (think my husband crawling in and out of the door) - were using it. Unfortunately, one sheltie is very small and not strong enough to push the 3 panel flaps. Another sheltie could use it to get out but not to get back in. The two that use it make our lives so much better as they may go in and out 20 times a day. The cover is easy to push down & pull up at night/morning and when we go out. The 3 panel flaps still allow some cold air in, though, but it's not excessive. The convenience far outweighs any cold it allows in. We would definitely recommend this doggie door!

Perfect dog door

Took 1hr to install works great for my 2 dogs pit at 69lbs and boxer 100lbs.

Does a great job!

Excellent! With the double doors when our dogs go in and out. The magnetic stripes on the bottom of the doors do a good job at keeping the doors snuggly closed. This was fairly easly to install. We live in Minnesota where winters are pretty cold ???? I have to say for as big of opening this is in our door in the kitchen...the room stays warm so it does a good job at keeping the cold out. The only time we have a problem is if it's real windy from the direction the dog door is on...then your door Will blow open and blow in any rain and snow...Thats when we put the cover they provide on it. Magnet doesn't always close the door.

Sometimes it doesn't fall back into place, causing the magnet not to latch. Otherwise, it's a good sturdy door.

Both our big and little dog get through just fine.

I liked the sliding plastic door on this one. We had older smaller one and they popped on and off. The slider is easier.

Satisfied with this door

At first I thought this door would never work. Our British Lab has some joint issues and was having a very hard time going thru. I rolled up the outer flap on the inside and he could go thru but still had trouble so I rolled up the flap on the outside of the door. Now he's going thru with no problem and his kitty buddy can now use it too.

Much better than other dog doors for energy efficiency

Best of the flap-style doors. Good energy efficiency. No drawbacks at all. Easy to install.

Expensive but worth it

We had the cheaper one leaf version but it blew open a lot. This has survived some strong winds and stayed shut. Very happy.

It's OK but not perfect.

Easy to fit. Swings back and forth but does not seal on magnets. Anything stronger than a slight wind will blow the flap off the magnets. When the dog enters slowly, the flap will not centre. It needs lifting and dropping to get enough momentum to centre it. Update, still won't stick on magnets, even after adjustment. The sprung locking pin has come apart.

Good for large dogs

Would fit literally any dog, its huge, be sure to measure your door tho, I purchased this for my sisters house and it didn't fit the back door so I took it back to mine and it fit my back door perfectly, we both have rottweilers and could have done with a smaller size, not complaining just for an idea for people

Well worth the money !

Just keep the sides of the flap sides clear of fur. Just a wipe over each day for example in windy weather. If you have dogs that are malting, and their fur sticks to the sides of the dog flap opening, the flap won't magnetically seal as tight. BRILLIANT though. FAR BETTER than the companies normal single flap option which we've had previously. We have six dogs, it gets some use.

Does what it says on the tin

This is far superior to other dog flaps I have seen. The aluminium frame secures very well. The extreme weather flaps seem to do the job without any discomfort to the dog. I installed in a UPVC 28mm door so had to add an MDF spacer. Highly recommended
