It's pretty sturdy and nice to have. Really helps. The negatives are that since it goes on under the toilet seat, the seat doesn't lay completely flat. There's a slight gap. It's not a big deal. Also, we've had it on there a few weeks now and one of the screws started to loosen up. Also not a big deal because it was able to be tightened back up easily, but I'm hoping that doesn't become something that happens all the time.

stable unit, Looks good on Bowl....

more sturdier then expected, but it is a MOEN.... they do plumbing... not an oversized unit... not compact either... find it just right on the elongated bowl... also tips back when not in use... brace bar is iron, and not just a metal bracket... nice white paint coated... priced is not over the top either for the safety factor needed.... directions on assembly really dont match the view in photo, but when you LOOK and the pin holes and the spring beads, you will recognize how to assemble... not as tough as the rubiks cube, but you have think and when you see the pin holes, you get it..

It has to have the right as size toilet or not be in so picky

I brought one for my mom and she said it pinched her , when she would stand up off of it ,so in the first week she took it off.it was a few centimeters or 1 inch also shy from reaching the edge of the bowl I guess so it might not have been a clear path from the start. I thought it was fine,my mom didn't.,and she's the one who had to use it so..

Sturdy

This is very sturdy and works well as I have arthritic hips. The only thing I don’t care for is the plastic handles are so hard/firm when lifting off with my hands.

Nice, but beware! You need to make adjustments to your toilet seat.

I like that this safety rail sit's on the toilet and not on your floor. However, beware your toilet seat! With this rail having a bar that sits on the lip of the toilet, under the seat, it puts uneven pressure on your seat when you sit down, which will cause your toilet seat to break or split in two if you don't purchase taller bumpers for your toilet seat! Our wooden toilet seat split in two right in the front after a few weeks of use. The bar on the safety rail just made the seat rock when you would sit on it because the bumpers on the seat itself were not tall enough to sit on the rim anymore and be fully supported. So check your bumpers and be prepared to install some extra taller ones! We ended up having to buy a new seat and purchases slightly taller bumpers and installed them and now everything is tight and stable. One more thing. If you have an over the tank storage cabinet with legs, check your width between the legs. This safety rail is about an eighth to quarter of an inch too wide for our cabinet. We had to really really work it in there and now one of my wooden legs on my cabinet is pushed out wider. If they had only made this rail adjustable width wise, it would have been perfect.

Fine product from Moen. Simple but very sturdy and supportive design for the elderly.

Good product but arms are too high for a short person.

If you are at least 5'3" tall, this could well be the best toilet support rail for you. It is relatively unintrusive, very stable (much more so than similar products with wobbly legs). However, it you are under 5'3" tall, the arms on this toilet support device are probably too high for you. It is possible to modify it but it will take some work. My husband spent several hours (in a very cold garage-we live in Colorado) cutting down the arms and then putting them back together with 1/2-inch galvanized pipe nipples. It would so helpful if this company would make a product with a 4- or 5-inch rise instead of 8" to 9". There are many elderly women out there who are small/short and there is no such safety product for them; at least I could not find one even with several hours of research. It would also be wonderful if the arms were padded instead of hard plastic. But this too can be overcome. My husband purchased Uxcell white foam tubing for handle grip support (1" thick) to cover the arms. (Available on Amazon for $13.49.) The tubing is difficult to get on to the rails but now the arms are very comfortable and do not hurt my wrists when I get up and down.

Looks Nice but Frustrating Setup

What should have taken 5 minutes, took about 4 hours. There are screws on the bottom back bar that kept the toilet seat from fitting, so I bought a new toilet seat. Unfortunately, the new seat didn't fit either, so now I have to return it. I ended up having to cut off part of the hinges with a miter saw in order to bolt the seat down. It's an older toilet, which could be the reason why it didn't fit. Also, the tank is designed with a space for the lid to fit ... _____/----------\_____ (front side of tank), reducing the space between the hinges and the front of the tank, so I would make sure there's space between your toilet seat hinges and the tank. I can understand that the screws are where they are to hide them, but when you're putting toilet rails on a toilet, does hiding two screws really matter? And, because I had to cut off part of the hinges, the caps don't fit, so now you can see the bolts. Other than that, the rails are sturdy and suit its purpose. It is a lot nicer having pretty white rails than the silver, hospital style with legs in the bathroom.

Safety Seat w/ Rails

The Moen Home Care Toilet Safety w/ Rails is stable and easy to install. Fits all standard toilettes and perfectly fits the comfort height toilettes. Easy to assemble and install. Easy to clean. Great Support

I bought the frame for a stroke patient and installed it myself. It came with it's own tools and straightforward instructions. It wasn't too difficult to install and within 20 minutes I was finished. If the toilet wasn't so old, it would take less time. Overall, the frame is sturdy and easy to clean with wipes.
