Perfect compact hair iron
This hair iron seems to be the perfect size for hair length anywhere in between 2 to 6 inches long. Anything longer would require a 3/4 or 1 inch iron. I would not recommend this iron if you have longer hair due to the fact that the surface area of the actual iron is not big enough to dissipate a equal amount of heat and would be more prone to getting unbalanced results. The heat settings on this iron seems to be fairly accurate and heats up incredibly fast, it will hit 450 deg. (Max setting), within a minute. I could see that this iron would be extremely handy for traveling since it's very compact and heats up quickly. I use this iron every single day and haven't had any issues with heat damage or accidental burns, though a lot of that is due to the proper use of the iron. I have in the past managed to damage my hair using different irons, though most of those cases were due to faulty heat settings on the irons. All in all, I would definitely re-purchase this or recommend it to family and friends.

Great straightener!
Very nice straightener - works great for short hair! I looked long and hard to find a small one w/ a temperature control. this is great. It did take me a little while to adjust to the size - the body is significantly bigger/longer than any small straighteners I've had before. But I also don't have to deal with the way the smaller ones got so hot and made it hard to use, or over fry your hair. This one stays cool where your hands are, and since the temp is adjustable, you can turn it on just enough to straighten w/o overly damaging hair.

Fabulous, straight and shiny...what more can I say
Absolutely fabulous flat iron. This product is great for getting those head to grip edges bone straight. The skinner plates also allow you to grip your hair more tightly generally, thus acting as a better straightening tool. Finally the shin I get from this flat iron is amazing, I rarely add any shine product after using this tool. Also, the free heat safe all-in-one storage bag and pad is nice and I use it regularly to sit my flat while in use and for storage. This was my first FHI purchase and I will definitely buy from them again. Love it Love it Love it!

Worth every penny!
You can't possibly go wrong with FHI! My hair has never been better since using this brand of flat iron. I flat iron daily which is pretty hard on your hair. I used this flat iron faithfully and started using hennas instead of regular dyes and viola! I had to get the larger flat iron because this one was too small..my hair grew so much. I would caution that you keep it clean. The product will build up and blacken your plates. Make sure your iron has FHI as the manufacturer. FHI is definitely worth the money!

Great Product, But Short Life Span
The flat iron works great for short hair, when it works! It lost heat after only 10 months. I purchased the flat iron from Amazon and FHI Brands will honor the warranty, however, I must pay a $35 fee plus shipping and handling to return the non-working flat iron. I'm giving it 3 stars for reliability and additional costs for a $130 product that will cost me more money to replace.

Not worth to buy
I was very disappointed. I thought buying an expensive one was worth it. It has low heat and it is NOT smooth to my hair everytime I used it.
