An opinion-- the paper is a bit thin
This is my favorite sketchbook and paper - I must have purchased at least 5 of these in the past year. To me, a sketchbook must have a spiral bind so that you can draw without having to bother with other pages and a sturdy backing so that you can draw even if you are not at a desk. This sketchbook meets both those requirements. Another bonus of this sketchbook is that the pages are perforated. The amount of paper you get for the price is a great deal and it is perfect for sketching out ideas. I mostly use pencil for my sketches, however, I have used the paper for light washes of watercolor, and the paper works well enough with minimal buckling or the water bleeding through to other pages like it does in some of my other sketchbooks. I have also used gouache, ink, and even used it as a practice pad for calligraphy with pilot parallel ink. Although ink is visible on the back of the page, I was really happy that there was almost no feathering of the ink. Of course, I wouldn't recommend it for your next masterpiece - it is a sketchbook after all, but it is perfect for those preliminary or test drawings.

Wonderful for All Artists, New and Old!
I received this as a gift for Christmas and it's probably one of my favorite sketchbooks I've ever had! The paper is thick enough that it can hold the ink of my Copics and inking pens, as well as have a great texture with my colored pencils! Graphite stays on nicely, but can also be smeared around for just pencil work, however, be careful since with my luck, many of my pencil sketches have smeared a lot on the previous page, as well on the piece of art I'm working on. It holds up well in my book bag throughout the school days, and does extremely well during travel, not a single fold or dent in the metal rings! I would recommend this to any artist who wants a smaller book to carry around, whether it be during school or just out and about in a purse!

Amazing for gouache paints!
High quality thick paper! I love the “portable” size of this sketchbook, fits perfectly in my hand without it looking super bulky. The paper withstands water quite a bit, although it does “roll” up a little although I’m sure this can be remedied by using a masking tape border so you don’t paint on the edge of the paper. Overall, it’s really amazing quality for the price.

I use these for swatching my art supplies. Not sturdy enough alone for anything else. What I use it for it’s perfect.

Easy sketching with Canson Mixed Media at affordable prices.
First time I've tried Canson products. I love the tooth on paper but if you like smoother, back side is smoother. I haven't used watercolors, acrylic markers, only graphite and aquaculture pencils and woidless color pencils. So far I'm very impressed and curious to try other products. During these trying times I would say reasonably priced and quality product.

Cannot Hold Up Using Watercolors
I love the size of this but as a Mixed Media pad, it doesn't hold up compared to others I've used. I tried using with watercolor and a single layer of watercolor warps the paper considerably compared to the Canson XL Watercolor pad I use also. Letting one layer dry and then putting a second layer on and small pieces of the paper are lifting already ruining the painting. The paper sucks up water but doesn't stay wet enough to allow for blending and making it impossible to work with. I haven't tried it with other mediums yet but if you need something for watercolor, I would definitely not recommend this paper.

Great quality, handy size, beginning friendly
I'm just learning how to paint but the paper is fantastic -- even using WAY too much water as I try to figure out how to use the paint it held up. Didn't soak through or pill. It took the colours well and the covers are firm which makes it an easy surface to paint on. I like the size too for traveling with.

Good value
Great little book. For some reason, way better than the Canson XL book. Colours bleed a little better and paper stays a bit more wet.

Quality paper
I like the size of the pages on this plus the quality seems to be pretty good though I'm new at watercolors. I haven't used it yet but I will be doing it as soon as I'm able to set up my little Art center

Beautiful quality
This a a beautiful quality art journal.. I have used many different types of mediums and nothing has soaked through the page to the other side.. I would definitely buy this again

Great mix media pad!
I've used watercolor, acrylic, pencil and gouache in this pad, all work great. Isn't the best paper for finished artwork (I prefer fabriano cold press) but it's good for planning and just having fun. Has a light texture , kind of in between hot press and cold press. Tape rips this paper incredibly easy - I use washi tape if I have to tape off any edges in this book.
