Worth it's weight in.....sludge? LOL
I purchased this cleaner mainly because of my in-laws. I take care of them and my father-in-law is end stage COPD. We are in the process of redoing their bathroom to be handicapped accessible so there is a LOT of dust to clean up on the carpets and furniture. This said, he was hospitalized recently so I figured while he was there, not really knowing when they would release him, I would try and find a really good cleaner to clean his chair as I really don't think it has ever been cleaned before (10 years that I know of). I have to add that his chair didn't look, or smell bad at all. He just had an "incident" and I wanted to make sure it was properly cleaned before he came home. I was very hesitant to spend this kind of money on this kind of machine when there are cheaper ones out there......but I am so glad I did! It was super easy to take out of the box, easy to put together (just have to attach the handle with the 4 screws they provided), and 2 types of instructions (1- quick setup and 1- regular, more in-depth/care). I filled the clean water reservoir to the line with hot tap water and then used one of the 2 sample bottles of cleaner that came with it. I have to add that the sample size has at least 2 doses in it. I started to clean the chair and at first I just pressed the button and watched as I moved the wand down and it would suck up lot of suds. Then I decided to "pretreat" the seat cushion by just spraying it with the solution and letting it soak in while I did the arms. Then I moved to the seat, pressing the trigger for the first pass with the wand and after the treatment I did, that's when I started seeing discoloration in the suds. I kept going over certain areas until the suds were clean looking. When I was finally done I was left with a little bit of the clean solution on one side and an almost full dirty compartment with what looked like sludge! But, after 10 years of sitting, eating, drinking, dogs and cats, it's no wonder I had the result I did. Now, I am looking forward to trying this detachable canister on my truck seats and the upright carpet part of this machine on the carpets and rugs in the house!! I can't wait to see what I pull up with this!

Great Carpet Cleaner
The carpet cleaner worked great in our living room! It pulled a lot of dirt out of the carpet and now the room feels fresh again. You can see the water being sucked out of the carpet as you move the vacuum (which was actually surprisingly fun for me to watch). Here are a few quick notes to help whoever may be looking to buy this product: - Easy to assemble: It came with clear instructions and had minimal work. My husband had it assembled in less than 5 minutes. - Comes with sample cleaners: You get two sample cleaning solutions. I would recommend purchasing a full size cleaner to go along with it as you probably won't get through everything with just the samples. - Small water tank: One of the downsides of this machine is that the water tank is very small. Be ready to refill it multiple times for larger rooms. Overall this is a great product. I love being able to easily separate the machine from the base to clean stairs or furniture. The only major drawback, and reason for the loss of star, is the small water tank.

My machine didnt work BUT GET THIS……
After having a three month wait to get a credit from Hoover for a dead (never worked) carpet shampooer i decided to order the Bissell pet carpet shampooer. I took it out of the box and put it together. I filled the tank with the complementary pet stain solution and proceeded to shampoo my white carpet flooring. I took the solution tank and refilled it, and it never worked again. After the episodes with Hoover, I was very frustrated BUT get this, I called bissell and after checking with me on a couple of items to see what the problem was he said, we will send you a new one. The very next day I had a Bissell shampooer at my front door with no responsibility to return the broken one. I am a BISSELL fan forever, I imediately opened it up and put it together and shampooed my rug and it did a beautiful job. The suction for removing the liquid was very strong and the shampooer heats the solution to give you a warm water shampoo. I purposely tried a couple of different rooms and a couple of different refilling of the tank and the carpet shampooer and the hand nozzle both worked beautifully . It was Very convenient to switch from up right to portable with hand nozzel too. Thank you BISSELL for your great customer service!

#1 doggy diarrhea cleaner
We got this to replace our hand-me-down carpet cleaner, and it has been more than a life saver! We haven't had any real bad messes yet, until tonight, when our dog, with her sensitive stomach, had some diarrhea in our living room. We're planning on replacing it soon anyways but, we're glad we had this carpet cleaner to keep it clean until then!! Highly recommend this to anyone "on the fence"!

Life has never been better since getting this Bissell Carpet Cleaner five years ago.
Who knew how great it would be to have your very own carpet cleaner available whenever you need it? No need for appointments. No need to clean out someone else's dirt in a rental. This carpet cleaner works wonders. It sucks up dirt you would never believe is there. It's easy to use and clean.

Love it!
This is by far the best carpet shampooer i’ve had. Really cleans the carpet and leaves the house smelling fresh. The only issue I can see is it is it bulky and a little harder to push but gives you work out while cleaning your floors lol

2 dogs, 1 cat, twin grandsons and we live in the country. Easy to use and if you use cleaner then another round of warm water and remove water slowly, carpet looks brand new. As a person who owns a flooring store I would definitely recommend.

Convenient & does s great job
This is the 3rd one I have bought over the past 10 years. Pets & grandchildren have given these machines a constant workout & they do the job. This one is being used as a gift to stop my son from constantly borrowing mine. The lift off gives you the best of both worlds for cleaning furniture & vehicles or just that quick spot clean

Nice but it only hold about a quart of water, so you're always changing it.nice that it can lift off though to do your car
