Has really helped after a bad ankle sprain

It would be 5 stars if it fit better. I have small-ish feet but large calves and the Velcro didn't reach so I ordered some One Wrap Velcro and easy peasy fix. And it's definitely still a bit awkward and bulky to fit into a shoe. But the positives far outweigh the negatives! As soon as I put it and my shoe on I don't feel any pain and I feel supported while I'm being active. It's not as tall and bulky as the regular air cast I was wearing initially.

Excellent sprained ankle support

The media could not be loaded. I love this brace!! I was close to giving up in my search for a small lightweight brace that I could fit inside my shoe, but which would still provide rigid support for my badly sprained ankle (the way my bulky and heavy medical boot does). This brace checks all the boxes! The two hard side panels sit perfectly on either side of my ankle. The stretchy band you slip your foot into, and the lower back strap, really secure the panels and hold them tightly in place around the ankle. The final wraparound strap secures the ankle from the front and holds the panels in place at the top. This combination reduces inversion/eversion by 95%. My giant medical boot was awesome, but it greatly limited my mobility. Now I’m back to my normal physical activities (except running) feeling confident that my ankle is snug, safe, and healing - and that I won’t reinjure it while working out at F45, walking up the stairs, gardening, etc. Fantastic!!!

Good Fit

I bought this for my daughter after being recommended by her surgeon after her ankle was crushed in a car accident and completely replaced with a metal plate and screws. It does help with swelling but it's a little uncomfortable and can't be worn with a regular sized shoe... but it does help with stability and swelling.

Worked great for me, but annoying velcro design.

Size purchased: Small The good: This brace worked really well for me for a severe sprain. I hated it the first couple of days because the stiffness of the strap didn't allow me to tighten it well enough. After a few days though it was no problem! This brace allowed me to move about so much more easily than with an ace wrap without the worry of making a wrong move. I believed it has helped me to heal more quickly. The not so good: There is too much velcro on this thing (the rough side that sticks to everything). I understand the extra velcro around the top for people with smaller legs than myself (a bit more on sizing in a minute), but the velcro extends down the brace where it will never be used... by anyone because it's double the width of the strap. Anyway, it sticks to everything. Dog hair, the couch, etc. I ruined a couple of spots on some under armour leggings I had. That is the brace's biggest downfall. A forewarning: I am a woman of average weight. I have boney skinny ankles with larger calves due to many years as a dancer and on pointe shoes. Until I broke the strap in, I didn't feel like I could get this brace tight enough on my ankle while it was already tight on my calf. It ended up working out really great for me, but I feel like if you have quite large calves or might be overweight, this brace may not have a strap that allows you to tighten around your ankle enough. It is one strap that wraps around to tighten for both calf and ankle. It may tighten around your calf, but allow the ankle to be too loose. I think the strap design could be a lot better in respect to this and therefore fit more universally.

Not for Folks with Thick Ankles or Calves

I can see how this could have been a great brace for me, but unfortunately the strap is not long enough. My ankles and calves are thick. If you have thick ankles and/or calves, you may want to look into a different brace.

Only one strap to wrap around one's ankle!

2 straps to wrap around one's ankle is more stabilizing than only one strap although the height up one's shin on this model does help with stability.

These actually work very well

What can I say about these? Prior to getting them I was suffering frequent pronation of the ankle, since getting them I dont. They allow perfect range of motion in the foot in the up and down but virtually none in the direction I dont want it to go in. When you first put it on it without a training shoe it will make you wonder if it is actually doing anything. Putting your shoe on you suddenly see what it is doing as your ankle immediately firms right up. These might be expensive compared to other sorts of braces available but these actually work extremely well. Just make sure you wrap the strap tight. Andy Murray wears this exact model so if its good enough for him to play professional tennis without suffering pronation issues then they are more than good enough for a duffer like me!!

Brilliant support!!!!!!

When i received these i was still using 1 crutch following damaging my ankle ligaments. One day later and i am happy to spend most of my time without any crutches. The product offers excellent support and comfort. It is a little bulky going into the shoe/trainer but i expected this based on the level of support. I am sure this will help me get back to sporting activities a lot quicker and aid in my recovery.
