Heal with the best - just get it
Aircast boots are the BEST hands down. My podiatrist had me in a different brand tall boot - it was ok but never really fit - but did the job. I just graduated to a short boot for the next 3 weeks - and the Aircast boot is comfortable and light. I wear a women's 8.5 - 9 or men's 7 - 7.5 wide (depending on style) and the medium boot is perfect as far as length. Plus if you have a wide foot (like me) there is enough room. The Aircast may be a little more $$ but so worth it. Buy the Aircast and you won't be disappointed.

Same boot! Less than doctor’s office!
This boot was significantly cheaper than the one they wanted us to purchase at the doctor’s office. It’s practically the same thing. Highly recommend!

High quality CAM - was my best boot buddy for 10 weeks!
First time in a CAM boot, and even though I don’t have any benchmark for comparison, I think this product did a great job. This boot was my constant companion for 2+ months, so I got to know it pretty well. It felt like decent quality materials and construction and held up surprisingly well to the amount of use (and abuse) over time. At about the 6-week mark, the Velcro straps were starting to wear on the liner, but I took the boot on and off multiple times daily, and sometimes didn’t use the plastic top piece, so I think that’s a natural outcome. Used for a total of 10 weeks, and if I had gone any longer than that, I would have ordered a replacement liner just for comfort’s sake. The boot itself had no issues, no parts failed, no straps broke, and there were days when I basically threw it across the room I was so sick of it! I did end up using an orthotic insert with the boot, which increased comfort (especially helpful if you have high arches and your doc gives you the OK). Having small feet and small build, I noticed that it was at times difficult to get a comfortable fit around my upper foot and ankle, but given the nature of my injuries (foot and ankle), I’m not sure I’d blame that on the boot. The combo of pneumatic system and Velcro straps helped a lot with adjusting the fit — just be sure you understand how the pump tool works. It has two ends (one for inflate and one for deflate) — always deflate before removing the boot and inflate once your foot is secured inside. Once I got the hang of this, it worked like a charm to secure the boot and combat any slipping in the fit. It’s nice that the bottom is designed with a slight curve which made walking a bit easier. But I have to recommend using a shoe lift on the other foot or risk injury from uneven walking over a period of time (yes, that happened to me). The other note is that depending on your injury, you might consider getting the taller version. In hindsight, I think that may have been a more comfortable choice for me and eased pressure/tension in my ankle during recovery — be sure to talk with your doc about the two options (I didn’t until after I got this boot, and while it was fine, it might have been better). Also, definitely get a weatherproof cover if you’re going outside (even walking on wet surfaces, grass, whatever), as water gets right in that open toe space no matter how hard you try to avoid it. Overall, I am quite pleased with the purchase and impressed with the general quality of the product. I will definitely keep it as I could use it again (though hoping I won’t have to!) with a new liner. Knowing there’s a lot of crap out there on the market, I would go straight to this brand again and/or would recommend to others.

Great boot, I may cancel my doctor’s appointment!
I have plantar fasciitis that became so chronic, it was hurting nearly 24 hours a day and it was excruciating. I can’t get in to see the doctor for a month so I took matters into my own hands, read reviews and decided on this one. I ordered the short in a medium, I wear a size 10, my ankles and calves are probably a fairly typical build, I’m tall and active and the medium fits me well. As you can see from my photo, my toes are right up to the top but do not hang out. At first, I was surprised that this insole is so flat and not very padded but then I realized, how could they? The boot is meant to be worn on either foot. So I put in my own insole and it works great. I also like the fact that you can customize the fit with the air pump! Works fine for me. I’m back to walking my dog, I still am limiting myself to 1 1/2 to 2 miles a day for now but we go on dirt trails. It can be a bit clumsy over the river rocks but you just have to watch and be aware, your foot doesn’t give you much feedback for balance due to the stiff plastic so that’s to be expected. Some people have complained about the weight but I wanted something that would be durable so this works great for me. Also, the “squeaking” that some people complain about is due to the Velcro rubbing on the upper part of the boot where it is meant to hold the back and front together. Some suggested turning the plastic upside down so the toe end actually goes against your shin. It’s really not intended to fit that way. Simple answer, take off one of the pieces of Velcro on each side. The strap holds it in place! I’m too busy to be bothered by the noise. I can see where If you worked in a quiet office, it would be obnoxious every time you walked around. After only 3 days wearing this boot, I am amazed at how well my foot is doing! I’m also stretching and wearing KTtape on my arch to support my instep. I’m doing all I can to get rid of this pain and if it continues at this rate, I’m canceling my doctor’s appointment!

Replaced a knee high boot.
I like the shorter boot, but it seems to feel as heavy as the knee high one. The outside air chamber is not easily accessible.

Great product with no return policy
Be sure you really need one of these as there is a no return policy. My podiatrist told me to buy one of these so I purchased this one from Amazon. Turns out the MD misdiagnosed my injury before I even opened up the box. I know this is a good quality brand, but no where did I read that there was a no return policy! After reading other reviews, I discovered that several other people have had the same issue. I buy a lot of goods on Amazon but I’ve never seen a seller not even post that you can not return the product unused!

Worth every penny
I stubbed my baby toe really hard and am certain my toe and metatarsal are fractured. (Still awaiting xray results.) In the mean time I purchased this boot to immobilize my foot. I wear a size 9 shoe and ordered the medium. Fits perfectly. It takes some playing around to get the right fit without being too tight. But once you do it's so comfortable. I have no problem driving with it on either. It's about the same size as my heavy duty winter boots. I watched a video from a podiatrist who recommends wearing compression stockings and a thick sock as well as using an insert. I'm not using the insert but the compression stocking and thick sock made a huge difference in how well it fits. Without them my toes had too much wiggle room and weren't that immobilized. I've been wearing it almost all day today and am pain free. So glad I purchased it!

Life changer and ankle saver
I have sprain my ankle severely several times and have probably never let it heal completely. This time a friend of mine recommended one of these Aircast boots. Instead of being couch potato bound and stir crazy I am able to walk my dog, go hiking, get stuff done around the house. My ankle is supported and able to heal. When I am too lazy to put it on even around the house I pay big time for it. This really is a game changer for ankle sprains and injuries. Well worth the money and surprisingly comfortable.
