The Goldilocks pillow....just right.
I've been on a quest to find the perfect pillow. I'm coming from an almost 10 year old Tempur-Pedic Symphony pillow...and I have to say the Symphony has been pretty good to me. But it's getting a little beat down at this point and it's time for a replacement. I should also say that I'm about 6'0, 205lbs. side sleeper. I like a high loft. I went to the stores. Tried the Purple Original and Purple Harmony. Original was too firm...Harmony too bouncy. I didn't actually sleep on either one of these...but I just didn't think either was going to work, so I began looking elsewhere. I tried the Saybrook shredded memory foam pillow. Now that one is good...I still have it, and I think I'm gonna keep it. That's a great pillow, love the adjustability....but I do have to fluff it in the middle of the night. The stuffing sort of shifts around on me, and the support it offers at the beginning of the night is not the support it offers in the morning. And it is a bit warm. But overall a great pillow. I'm probably going to keep it as a back up. The shredded foam used on this is top-notch. Nice and squishy. Very uniform. This really is a great pillow. I just don't want to keep fluffing and don't want to have to readjust in the middle of the night. That led me to the Tempur-Pedic Tempur Cloud Cooling Pro Hi. I wanted to love it. It's heavy. It's a solid piece of memory foam. The cooling is legit...like too cold to start. The cooling does not last all night, and by morning I don't feel any cooling what-so-ever. You could maybe flip the pillow, but this thing is heavy, and I have a bad shoulder. The cooling is almost too much though when I first lay down. Frigid. Distracting. It's also firm. Like too firm. It's not all that bad when you first lay your head on it...and then you sink in just a bit...and then it's like the foam around your head is so firm that you can't really move your head around any, if that makes sense. I was waking up with a headache and sore neck. So the whole thing is just a bit too "extra" for me. Maybe a tad too tall. Maybe a tad too cold. Maybe a tad too firm. Now the cover of the Pro...it's awesome. But who really cares about the cover when most people use a pillow case anyway. So that led me to the Tempur-Pedic Tempur Cloud Breeze Cooling. It has a touch less loft than the Pro Hi. It's just a bit softer. I would call the Could Breeze Cooling a medium, and the Cloud Pro a firm. Both are heavy. The cooling with the Could Breeze is legit. Not as cool as the Cloud Pro...but it's noticeable. Gone by morning though. But the Cloud Breeze is the Goldilocks pillow. Just right. High loft...but not too high. Medium firmness...so it's firm...but not too firm. Cooling is legit...but not frigid. I think I found a keeper. I'm about a week into it so far, but I feel comfortable enough that I'm going to like it to write this review. Now the cover for the Cloud Breeze...nothing special. But again...who cares? It's removeable...it's washable...and I always use a pillow case anyway. So the bottom line for me is that the Tempur Clould Breeze Cooling and the Tempur Clould Pro Hi Cooling are very similar pillows...but the Pro is just a bit "extra"...and in my case...extra was too much. Cloud Breeze wins with me. If you are a really big dude...really broad shoulders...and like a high, firm pillow...go with the Pro Hi. If you are a 6'5"...250lb linebacker who sleeps on his side...get the Pro Hi. But for more regular-sized side sleepers, I think the Cloud Breeze is the one to get.

This is my holy grail pillow!
I'm very particular about pillows. The pillow, even more so than the mattress, absolutely makes or breaks my sleep quality. This pillow won't be for everyone as it has a significantly higher loft than most. I would even admit that it's slightly too high if I choose to sleep on my back (although fantastic for propping yourself up to watch TV). But as a 99% side sleeper with broader shoulders than most folks, most pillows out there just don't keep my neck in alignment. Even when I have tried thicker pillows before, they have usually compressed too much to provide the necessary support. This pillow is the perfect height and compresses just the right amount to keep my head properly supported. It is very comfortable, and a worthy endgame product for side sleepers. I'm also a hot sleeper and can't be doing with gimmicky cooling pillows that feel ice old when you run your hand over them, only to heat up during the night. This is the real deal. I don't know what voodoo prevents it from retaining any heat but it really does stay cool all night and for as long as you wish to lie in the next day. So what's the but? Well, there was one small issue. After about six months, the gel layer on one side started to peel back and stuck onto itself creating a ridge on the surface. I lodged a warranty claim and was swiftly approved for a free replacement. Unfortunately, Tempur charges for shipping on warranty replacements and it does seem somewhat counterintuitive for a customer to incur cost in rectifying a manufacturing defect. That said, they did not ask for the defective pillow to be returned. Given it was a returnless replacement and the original pillow still has plenty of life in it, $18 seems like worthwhile "insurance" against it coming apart down the line once out of warranty. I don't want to be mad, because I love the pillow!

Dream pillow
This pillow is exactly what I wanted as a side sleeper. It is very heavy, contours to my head and neck while also giving great support due to its height. I no longer have to fluff up my pillow to give support or place my hands/arm under my pillow for extra height while sleeping. It is also quite cooling when I first lay down but doesn’t stay as cool through the night as body heat is dispersed (which doesn’t bother me-just a heads up if you are primarily looking for a cooling pillow). However if you are looking for a medium/firm pillow and are a side/back sleeper… THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!

It works great for 3 weeks...
I got the pillow and it worked great supporting my head without sinking too deep. But after three weeks of use, it lost it's firmness, and within minutes of putting my head on it (when sleeping on the side), it sinks down, hence my spine and neck become curved, vs. staying straight. Unfortunately when I sleep on my side and if my head is not straight line spine, then my arm gets numb, due to nerve pinching (getting old sucks). Overall it's a good pillow, it stays cool, but it looses it's firmness quickly. Also when I just received it, I had to leave the pillow under the sun for 3 days to air out the manufacturing chemical smell. The pillow label says it's washable but I did not wash it yet.

Great pillow
This pillow although I think over priced is a great improvement to my previous pillows. I've had stuffing pillows (too thin and eventually dip in the middle), water pillow (not high enough and would have to fluff the stuffing), a memory foam butterfly pillow (was a great concept but way to firm). This pillow does fix all previous problems I was having. As a side sleeper it has been hard to find a tall enough pillow to give proper support that isn't super firm. I like that this pillow give support but is cushioned. My head does slip out of the position I fell asleep in sometimes and I need to readjust because I won't be putting enough pressure on the pillow causing my head to be on an odd angle. The cooling pad is great but could be a little better but I assume they designed this pillow with the intention of not putting an additional pillow case on it, if I were to just use the one it came with I'm sure it would work better. I do like that the cooling gel is on both sides so that this pillow can be flipped and rotated. So far this is the best pillow I've used, not sure it's worth the price but I have now found it hard to sleep if not using this pillow.

This is a great pillow. Like most memory foam it’s a bit stiff at first but it softens out after a month or so of use. The pillow is cooler then the average but would be nice if it was even cooler.

WORST PILLOW EVER!!
First, don't expect it to stay "COOL" as advertised. Like every other "cooling" pillow I've tried, it lasts for about an hour on each side then it's warm all night. Second, if you have any type of arm or shoulder issues you can't even lift this pillow! It weighs almost 4 lbs. and needs 2 hands to flip it. Lastly, it's hard as a rock! No comfort at all. I woke up with a stiff neck every night of the 6 nights I tried it now I'm giving up. SAVE YOUR MONEY and don't bother with this pillow! Loretta

Comfortable, but dense & immovable
First things first: this pillow weighs NINE POUNDS. Which isn't real-life heavy, of course, but feels like concrete in a bed. The pillow itself has great qualities: the cooling gel really works, and I found its support to be comfortable. However, when I sleep I move between all four positions (back, stomach, left side, right side), and this pillow does not move. You put it where you want it, then you twist and turn yourself as needed to get comfortable. I'm used to having, you know, a normal-weight pillow that I can easily readjust as I sleep. I also like lifting a pillow and propping it over my head when sleeping on my stomach, but if you do that with this pillow it feels like being smothered by a mob boss. I tried stomach-sleeping with my head on top of the pillow, but you sink so far down that it crushes your nostrils and you can't breathe. In short, if you like to put a pillow in one spot like a permanent art installation and orient yourself around it, this could work for you. If you want a pillow that's mobile at all, steer clear of this one. It has the density of a neutron star.

The cool gel really works!
We've had these for less than a week now, but we both love them. The cool gel stays nice and cool, but isn't uncomfortable to sleep on. In fact, aside from the coolness, it just feels like a pillow. The form keeps through the night and you don't sink to the mattress below. I'm very happy with this purchase so far.
