Extremely short lived and abrasive grains aren’t a consistent size
I work in glass and have used diamond hand pads in all grits for over 35 years, working with them wet to both sand and polish. The good ones by 3M have become very expensive, so I thought I’d give these a try. I ordered green, black and red pads. This review applies to all of them. There are two reasons for my one-star rating. First, hand pads wear down fairly quickly so I expected them to not hold up as long as the more expensive 3M brand. But within a few minutes they were useless. There was little abrasive left. I quickly fell back to using my 20 year old worn pads rather than these, that’s how quickly these lost their abrasive quality. But more importantly, the second reason these pads are inferior is that the abrasives are not graded. Usually with the better diamond pads, the abrasive grains are all a consistent size. This is what “graded” means. If you have a 100 grit pad, all the abrasive grains will be 100 grit size. With these pads that is not the case, and each grit size contains grains that are larger than the stated grit size. It’s as if “100 grit” means some “average” size, with some larger, some smaller. As a result, the pads put huge deep scratches in my glass material that were from the larger adhesive grains, and these scratches could not be removed. Every single grit size I ordered did this, and I didn’t realize it until I was bringing the piece up to a sheen that these deep scratches were there. I used the pads on several glass pieces, which are now essentially ruined. If you’ve got a rougher product and this wouldn’t matter to you, then these might be OK. But if you’re a crafts person who cares about finish, don’t buy these pads. They won’t last, and they might ruin your work in the process of using them. Next time I’ll buy 3M. They’re more expensive, but good quality. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Been tiling and working with stone 40 years now and this little diamond pad/sponge is now my favorite. Just completed a porcelain job with many, many cuts and it performed flawlessly.

Very pleased.
Worked really well for polishing the cut edges of 12x24 porcelain tile. They do wear down pretty quick, but I reordered the same product to finish the job because they worked so well.

Great sanding tool with many uses at home and in shop.
I use these in my shop for many sanding operations on hard materials like ceramic pottery and fiberglass. Very nice for flat surfaces but do not flex much for following irregular surfaces or concave surfaces. Should last a year or more of home shop use if used with water to wet sand. If used dry they will wear much more quickly but are still good if light pressure is used. Just check visually to check for clogging and clean off debris to maintain good sanding performance. Constantly finding new uses like axe sharpening for this useful product. Good price too.
