It is a very inexpensive wet polisher. Great value for the money
It is a very inexpensive wet polisher. Great value for the money. Not really suited for a production shop. Addressing some of the other reviews. The switch works great. You just have to put a little extra pressure and making sure it is fully engaged and it will lock into place. Regarding the electric shock. I have bought over 50 Wet polishers. Brands Include Makita, Flex, Alpha, Secco, Buddy Rhodes, and Hardin. I have yet to find one that does not give you a shock if you get water into the tool. This is one of the reasons that production shops use pneumatic polishers rather than electric polishers. Regarding the guard issue. I have never experienced this problem because I have never put a guard on any of the polishers. I own a granite shop. I have been in several granite Shops. I have yet to see a guard on any polisher. In my mind, they get in the way when you’re polishing stone. The issue I’ve had with the Harden polishers in the past relate mostly to failure to clean the tool. The switch is actually at the bottom of the tool and a lot of dust collects between the trigger and the actual switch. All in all, I believe this polisher is a well-built tool and if you clean it regularly most non-professionals will be happy with it

had it for a day
Seems to be working fine. I've been using 4 inch grinders since they were invented. Burned up a few in my day. First one was with course wire brush attachment taking rust and paint off sheet metal. This unit is fine. However, the low speed range... it may be easy for a person with little or no experience to burn this grinder up. You must let these grinders rotate freely with minimal but appropriate pressure. Be careful this thing will keep running with your finger off the switch... never had a grinder like that before. So I didn't have the water splash guard snugged up tight because I wanted to adjust from doing the edge to the top. Long story short the shield got off on once side.. I was not being careful when I went to adjust it. I was holding the grinder upside down with both hands while trying to adjust the water shield... like I said I wasn't being careful enough and the whole water shield slipped off the and began to go around with the grinder wheel at about 4000 rpm... well the first time around it only hit my fingers once at a slow rate of speed, however, it did beat my hand to many times to count as it caught up with the speed of the grinder as I was trying to turn it off. I had to throw the thing on the concrete floor just to get it out of my hand... That jarred the switch enough to shut it off. This grinder can take a beating and btw hand out a beating and keep on ticking... I can't believe anyone broke anything on it. Plain and simple it is built tough.

So far so good
I bought this to replace a very expensive wet grinder used for lapidary work primarily on hard stone such as agate and jasper. he inlet valve is a little flimsy and tough to adjust just right - I need very fine control of the flow rate. The big deal for me is the variable speed, I adjust it depending on the mesh size of the pad. In order to polish the pieces I was very disappointed with the previous grinder which was limited to the highest speed. That wastes an unbelievable amount of $60 / lb. polish and it takes forever to get the job done. With this grinder on the slowest speed I get fast and virtually perfect results. The jury is out on how long it will last, I have only used it for about 4 hours. That seems to be a problem with this model for some and I'll update this if it happens. As for the problems others have had, a little knowledge goes a long way. If you can't get it hooked up and running as it comes from the factory then perhaps you shouldn't be using it. Pads are dirt cheap and I haven't seen a budget grinder that comes with one. Inlet valves should be kept loose or they will always break when you put too much pressure on them. And if you run it hard enough to bog it down you aren't using it as it was intended to use. Buy the Makita at over $300 if you want to abuse a grinder and not have it break down.

Good for the money
I bought this to pretty much play around and make my own polished concrete countertops. It's a nice polisher and works for what I need it to do. I've done two "mini slabs" to get used to the tool before I went ahead and made my counter (I'd advise any novice, like myself, to do the same). I understand what people were saying about feeling little shocks (i would compare it those similar to a tens unit) when using this tool. But I threw on some heavy duty gloves and I didn't feel it after that. It has a build in GFCI so I'm not all that worked about getting a good jolt. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for that.

Great polisher for the price
I used this to polish a hand poured concrete counter-top for my outside bar/grill. Before the concrete set, I placed colored crushed glass in the surface and troweled everything smooth. After waiting a week for the concrete to cure I started the polishing process by using diamond impregnated grinding turbo cup to knock down any high spots and any flash from the forms. I then switched to the standard gray diamond polishing pads also available through Amazon. This polisher is a beast. The water feature really keeps the dust down but the shield only marginally deflects the spinning water. I recommend wearing a poncho. My only nit would be that the provided hose attachment is about 3ft too short but it could easily be replaced.

Great tool
I'm a 25 year tile installer. Works perfect to sand and bevel the occasional chipage from tile saws or cutters. Also works great as a hole saw. The built in water feature is messy but works great

lasted 3 hours of use
the water connection to the grinder cannot be put on tight or it will not allow water to pass. really easy to loosen it a little and set the double nut. the water hose has to be replaced right away lol curly spring action and really short I replaced mine with 10 feet of rubber hose for 5 bucks...... it's the cheapest one out there u get what you pay for..... on the plus side it runs great once u fix the water intake. pleanty of speed and torque for what I need. great for hobby use... not for industrial use if u want that pay 3 times as much!!!!!! tried it a 2nd time gave up after 2 hours of polishing

Delivered Defective
Ordered this for a countertop project that never happened. Had to wait forever to get the specific bit that fits this (they’re not easy to find, and expensive. You’ll have to order from China and it’ll be $150-250). Anyway the bit showed up way too late so didn’t end up using this thing. Didn’t even open the box and just left it with all my other tools in the basement. Had too much work going on to even bother to try it. Anyway, I go to use it after it’s been sitting for probably 8 months, in its original packaging, never opened, and plug it in, get it set up with this countertop edger I also bought (expensive and a pain to set up as well) and….nothing. It doesn’t turn on. The protector box on the cord lights up and resets, but the thing doesn’t turn on. Took off the edger and tried it with no big connected, nothing. I know a bought a refurbished but those are supposed to work, no? Anyway it’s obviously way past the return date and now I have a useless glorified (and overpriced) angle grinder that doesn’t work. Avoid, just get a proper edger or profiler ($1k +) if you’re doing enough counters to make it feasible, this thing is a hunk of junk.

Works great, good value
Bought this polisher to remove water stains on a granite top table. Was way lower priced than the Makita, which would be my choice for professional work, but this one worked well for me. I also used with a sanding disc for another project, way better than a constant speed angle grinder for this type of work.

Perfect machine for great value
Got my variable speed grinder/polisher in good time. Has a water feed that hooks up to hose. I was grinding/polishing cement countertops. Ran through various grits 100 to 3000. Got a shining smooth finish in the end. This grinder met up to all my expectations. Strong powerful motor, comes with a ground fault protector and an extra long cord. Well worth the cost.
