Decent polisher, a couple tweaks and it would be a great polisher

I was excited to receive my new polisher. I have a metabo that has been at the repair shop waiting for parts from Germany for 5 months now. Also I have a spta wet polisher that the seals for the water fed spindle leak. (I would have bought it again but it's discontinued). Had a sink cutoutI needed to polish in some granite. It was easy to set up. Everything is included hose hookup, backer, pads(not sure how good they are, but are whitish so should be ok on quartz). The GFI is nice it automatically resets when you plug it in, so no need to hit the button. It felt good in the hand, a little heavy compared to the spta but not as heavy and bulky as the metabo. I really liked the plastic hand hold at the head of the grinder. Only 1 bad thing. The switch wouldn't lock into the on position. Either bad plastic on the finger switch or something stopping it from sliding all the way up. So I returned it cause it's bad. *** 3-12-22 update*** So the switch probably wasn't bad on the first one. The 2nd one was like 5% better, but it would lock on. After about 50 times switching on and off the switch works like it should. Overall it's ok. To address some complaints other people had. Yes it will shock you after 15 min of use. The black plastic is a 2 part piece and doesn't have good shielding to protect the motor from water. You can see in the pic I wrapped the polisher in shower pan material and zip ties. But occasionally water does work it's way in after a hour or two of polishing. What I don't like is it's a bit underpowered. You have to set it at a higher speed than needed because it will bog down with not much pressure at all. Not too bad for a lot of edge polishing but it's a hassle for corners. Overall I don't love it. It's ergonomic in shape and lighter in weight. But the waterproofing and the underpowered motor or maybe need different gearing. If they changed those 2 things it would be a perfect polisher. I'm still waiting on parts for my metabo from Germany

Switch doesn't stay on "on" position?

Machine just arrived. I plugged it in and everything looks good. One thing I noticed is the switch to turn it on needs to be held in order for it to stay on. Im not sure if its just a defect on mine or are they all like this. I was hoping the switch would stay on like other grinders/polishers such as makita/Milwaukee. I would find it harder/annoying to use in longer periods of time.

Right tool for the right price!

This grinder was perfect for my personal hobby use. It’s features, like adjustable speed, water feed and locking switch came at a price much lower than similar grinders for sale at popular equipment stores.

Good for what it is

Good for what it is, I read all kinds of negative comments saying “I got shocked” using a Hardin wet grinder... that’s like writing a negative review for a hammer because you hit your thumb. Long story short it’s a Chinese electric wet grinder, are you going to catch some voltage? probably. Did I? Yep!! Was I surprised when I did? Nope. It doesn’t hurt, there’s a transistor and breaker on the cord so you’re most likely not going to die. Frankly you’d have to be one unlucky person to get off-ed by low amperage AC current or just use a pacemaker, which I feel we already know how your luck has been. Either way, I recommend this if you’re going to use it for your Home or you’re a hobbyists like me who occasionally polishes rocks and minerals. If you’re going to use for a construction gig just invest the extra $150 and get a the premium wet grinder.

Broke the arbor off of my existing water grinder mid-job drilling 1.25" core holes, needed a good replacement fast and cheap, this one saved the day.
