Left-handed pruners!!
As a lefty, I have had my share of trying to use right hand tools. These make pruning that much easier. I am going to look for more left-handed tools like this.

10 year guarantee
Having bought these in July 2016 they are no longer usable as i blade has a chunk missing. I wish to return these for a new pair under the 10 year guarantee but seller refused as he said warranty was out of date??

Very Dissappointed, with inefficient instruction no sharpening occurred!
One of the things that drew me to this Sharpener is its so called ability to be multi functional. Surely with 6 types of sharpening the use on the tool Spear & Jackson should be a lot more transparent with the individual blade "HOW TO" instructions & pictures. It does not really show/explain properly how to use hold the Knives etc. Which way do you move the knife, push or pull to sharpen? how to get the angle . Baring in mind if you knew how to sharpen knives etc properly you would not be using this tool !! but a wet stone. I am Very Disappointed with this item, which I did have high hopes to be able to sharpen my own tools, rather than having to keep buying new ones which is expensive. Unfortunately my knives & Scissors are still as blunt as a rock.

Simple yet very useful tool to own
I have a lot of pruning shears and loppers I use in my garden. Last summer I had noticed that a few pairs were getting a little blunt, and making the job slower and harder. I already have a sharpening tool that I use for my kitchen knives, but I didn’t like the idea of using it to sharpen my garden tools with. So I set about trying to find a smaller more hand held sharpening tool for them and I found this. Spear and Jackson make good quality products, and at less than £4, this tool was just what I was looking for. It is lightweight, easy to hold and feels comfortable in the hand. I have to admit it took me a moment, and a little playing around to figure out the best way to use this, and the right angle to sharpen each tool. Once I figured it out it was plain sailing. With a few swipes back and to, along each cutting edge of the pruners and loppers, the blades were finally sharp again. What a difference it made! I would highly recommend this product to anyone struggling with blunt garden cutting tools. A small inexpensive tool, that is a must for every gardener out there!

Great idea.........but
Love the idea but sadly not the application. I had the first one a matter of days when one of the top sharpening blades fell out. I re-inserted it but the retaining screw keeps turning so it won't hold the blade tightly, which means its only a matter of time before it falls out again. If you read other reviews you will see that I am not the only one to experience this problem. Good old Amazon have replaced the whole thing but the jury is out as to whether it stands the test of time. Quality aside, my biggest disappointment is the instructions, which are a series of hieroglyphics which do very little to explain how to use the tool and how to sharpen the various items for which it is supposedly suitable. I have since found a few "how to" videos on Google which are more useful but I expected more from a company like Spear & Jackson. As an update, I have since received the replacement and guess what........... after a couple of applications sharpening hand shears the top blades are starting to fall out already. In the light of this second experience I have down graded my review from two stars to one. Sadly, it looks as if this unit will also be on its way back to Amazon. On the strength of this, I would definitely not recommend.

Unable to use it
I am extremely disappointed with this secateur. I have no idea how good t is, or how well t cuts because I can't open it. I saw the video with this lady moving the leaver easily but this is not the case with the one I received. There is no way to move the leaver and trying to loosen up the screw to see if I can get it to work is not possible for me It is too difficult and it won't shift. I am a 74 years old woman and am not impressed. If can't find someone to get it to work for me will be sending it back
