Excellent sprayer for pest control!
Went through others, dissatisfied until finding this sprayer. Concerned that pressurizing with the pump-handle would be annoyingly frequent (the house and perimeter needing regular application of pest-control barrier are large), the first I purchased was a battery-powered backpack sprayer (returned because the rechargeable battery did not last through half the 2-gallon tank). Abandoning the battery-powered concept, I reluctantly gave in to the seeming necessity of working a handle-pump to pressurize whatever sprayer I owned. I was waaaay off-base with this concern, and remain very pleased with how long this sprayer remains pressurized between charging it with the pump-handle. Maybe 6 or 7 stops to re-pressurize while treating a 6,000 sf residence, inside and out, with 5 gallons of diluted Bifin I/T. Sturdy, quality materials and build, and -- even though I'm lugging two or three gallons at a time -- not awkward or overly burdensome (and I'm not a big guy). Of course, the included shoulder-strap helps a lot. Nice variety of nozzle-tips, including an excellent brass cone-nozzle. Handy lock keeps the sprayer activated when treating a long stretch, but the spray-wand trigger is large, comfortable, and easily held in the activated position for long stretches. In fact, the only time I used the lock to keep the trigger open has been while cleaning the hose and wand between uses, also a super-simple operation! Very pleased with this purchase, and recommend it to others without reservation!

Excellent sprayer. Highly recommended over the 1 gallon version.
I had a 1 gallon sprayer I was using for bug spray for the last couple years. It worked fine but I had to fill it three times to cover my 1/2 acre lot. I decided to get a 3 gallon sprayer and I'm really glad I did. Pros: - Wide variety of heads. I'm using a nice metal head that allows you to twist it to go from a wide spray to a very concentrated one. There are 3 or 4 other heads that come with the sprayer for different applications. - 3 Gallon Capacity. I've cut my spraying time down by about 30 minutes. - Very sturdy, high quality build. - Comes with a shoulder strap or you can hold onto the handle. - The wand is really long, this let's me get the poison exactly where I want to put it. - Putting it together was really easy. Cons: - When full it's really heavy. Even with the shoulder strap this is going to hurt your shoulders and you'll have to put it down every once in a while. I'm a big guy. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone that's not in reasonable shape. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. The only improvement I could hope for is a more padded, comfortable shoulder strap. It's cut down my spraying time significantly which means spraying my yard is now a 30 minute task instead of taking well over an hour. My wife is happy that she gets the time back with me and I don't dread going out to spray like I used to.

Better than most but not without flaws
I've had some awful sprayers in the past so i knew what i wanted this time. Since my original purchase i have bought two more for a total of three sprayers so i can have them ready with different chemicals for different needs. Pros: Made in the USA Nice wide base that stands up and doesn't tip over Solid and strong plastic tube connections Thick hose that resists kinking better than most sprayers Durable wand handle that hasn't gummed up yet. Pressure release valve. Cons: The wand holder has been a headache for two reason, the pump handle interferes with the wand when its in the holder. Second the wand tubing is literally 1" too short and the tip barely sits in the pocket at the base of the sprayer and routinely slips out. On one of the sprayers I am experiencing leaking at the pump assembly. I purchased a O ring kit thinking this would fix my problem but it did not, the pump may be defective and i had it less than a year now. I have not made any attempts with the manufacture to replace it

It's OK
This is a decent sprayer. I have used many over the years and they stop working after a few years. I decided to stop buying $20 sprayers and get a better, more powerful unit. I have only used it once and here's the lowdown. It's made of plastic, not metal so it can't be left in the sun for long periods, it would never survive concrete contractors who leave them in the back of a truck. The hose is heavy duty but tends to loosen itself as you spray, so look down and check for leaks. The pump itself has a nice thick gasket that really needs to be so tight I thought I might harm it. It kept fizzing and I kept torquing it down. Maybe it will seat better with use, it's a hard gasket. I pumped it up and wanted to spray fertilizer. The spray is not even close to the pictures. It did spray out almost 3 gallons in about 15 minutes, but I had to pump it up every few minutes. I was spraying dilute fish emulsion which is pretty close to water, a tablespoon per gallon. It will be fine for insecticide but I think I could use my drywall hopper to blow out fertilizer and spend a lot less time. It's OK, is it worth $40? Not to me. My old metal sprayers were much more robust.

This is a good purchase I will buy another
First it took quite a bit longer to show up then I expected (2+weeks) but I am glad I bought for the price. I have owned a sml carpet cleaning biz for 15 years & have always used Roundup sprayers bc everytime i bought an expensive $60+ sprayer i would get 6months out of it b4 it needed something replaced. I can make roundup sprayers last 2+years b4 i need to replace at $20 but they don't look "professional". This Smith sprayer has excellent stability. I have yet to knock it over. The hose is big and flexible which is nice. The spray & handle took some getting used to but now that I'm more used to it, I will buy another for Scotchgard. I use a VERY aggressive degreaser and so far it doesn't seem to bother this sprayer at all. I can recommend this.
