If you're looking for real accuracy, this isn't it.
I live right in the middle of a 3 airport triangle. All roughly 7-8 miles away from my location. I have the avia weather app that reports their current weather readings. All three usually report the exact same, the only thing that changes usually is the temp and humidity might be a couple degrees different and the humidity 3-4% different. Their barometers line up exact to maybe .02 different at any given time. The first time I hooked the weather station up, the temp and humidity (outdoor) was off by about 4 degrees and 5% humidity. Not a big deal really. Close enough. The barometer was way off but I understood there was a learning curve to the unit and it has to process your location for 14/33 days. I did a manual calibration of the barometer just to see how it tracked with the airports. It was dead on. We had a front moving in and the barometric pressure was falling rapidly. The unit was exact to the readings of the airports. Problem being, if you want to use the manual calibration, it has to be left in that mode and yo have a wrench icon sitting there and it won't learn your location, which probably throws everything else off. I purchased a solar shield from acurite for the outdoor sensor. When that arrived, just to start from zero on everything, I let the sensor and main unit sit unplugged, without batteries for 24 hours, then did the hard reset procedure. When I hooked it all back up and hung the sensor in the solar shield, I gave it a day to acclimate. The barometer in learning mode was dead on with the airports and the outdoor readings were really close. 1-2 degrees and about 2% humidity. That lasted for about a day. Now the barometer is again way off (in learning mode) and the temp/humidity are off. Humidity is closest being about 5% different than the airports. As of of this writing, all 3 airports are reporting 46 degrees(F) and 66% humidity and all 3 barometers read 30.03inhg. My unit is reading 54 degrees, 67% humidity and the barometer is reading 30.37. The humidity is the only thing close. Temp is showing 7 degrees higher than real. No sun today, thick clouds, so direct sun isn't it. Barometer is .34 inches higher than actual, that is significant. That could be the difference in an inaccurate forecast. I guess it's okay for what it is. The selling point is the display, not accuracy. I'd gladly give up the color display for a black and white display if it was accurate. My business is mainly outdoors and I'd hoped this would be accurate enough to forecast the weather somewhat. I don't trust it to do that. Nice looking display that tells you, the temperature is in the xx's, the humidity is pretty close to xx% and the barometer is in the wild ballpark of xx.xx inches. If you want real accuracy, probably have to spend more money. I don't need a rain/wind gauge, that the good ones seem to come with, I am looking to replace this novelty item with something that can do what it is advertised to do. Tell me the outdoor temp and have an accurate barometer. Not saying don't buy it. Just be aware, if you are looking for real accuracy, or even close to accurate, be prepared to spend hundreds. This is just a novelty item, a toy.

Pretty, but fiddly
So far love this weather station, which replaces another ACCURITE unit which died after almost a decade in service. My only gripes are that setting up the unit initially is a little bit tricky and the temperature and humidity need calibrating as mine was off by several degrees out of the box

Nice to look at, responsive and accurate.
Like the information given, and the fact that its accurate out of the box (though it can be calibrated). The display is bright, colorful and attractive, and the information is displayed in an easy-to-read fashion. Needing a power cord is a bit of a pain and subtracts from the appeal of this device if attached to a wall. I also do not like the fact that there is only one attachment point for mounting on the wall. It doesn't feel very secure and I'm still trying to figure out how to secure the bottom of the frame so it is firmly in place on the wall. All-in-all, however, its very nice and we enjoy looking at it every day.

easy to read
I bought 2 back in July of 2020 and they still work just fine, I'm happy with them they seem to be accurate by checking with the NWS site readings.

Hard to see at a low angle
Would love to give 5 stars because overall its great, but installed on my dresser it's hard to see it laying in bed. AKA if you will be trying to view from a low angle such as below horizontal (eyes below horizontal compared to display), the numbers are no longer bright and the display is hard to see. I'll probably keep it anyway, but that was a little disappointing.

Works great
Works great and worth getting! Gives great time and temperature. Do not like the back where the stand pulls out. Falls down a few times

OK, except for accuracy
I bought the AcuRite 01121M Weather Station to replace a 16-year old Oregon Scientific BAR888A with a malfunctioning external sensor. This AcuRite model was one of only two models I could find of any manufacturer that met my requirements. I'd rate it as OK, but there are downsides to be aware of: - The accuracy is only +/- 2 degrees F, which is pretty dismal, especially compared to the 0.2°F resolution of the BAR888A. It really is this inaccurate; with the external sensor sitting right next to the unit, they won't read the same temperature, and the separation changes. Sometimes they are 2 degrees apart, sometimes less, etc. The only factor in AcuRite's defense is that it appears that 2 degrees inaccuracy is typical now for these devices. Being able to report temperature accurately doesn't seem to be a desired selling point. - The unit can be calibrated by the user, which is almost a requirement because it doesn't come calibrated out of the box. We know this because pre-calibration, with the external sensor right next to the unit the external sensor reads about 2 degrees and 2 % humidity higher than the internal. One of those readings must be wrong, but which? The external sensor seems to be more accurate when compared to other devices; what would help is an option to calibrate the internal to be the same as the current external reading. - Unfortunately the user calibration doesn't work very well. The main problem is that while this model reads temperature to a 10th of a degree, the calibration can only be entered in whole degrees. Not that it would help much if you could enter in 10ths, as the sensor just doesn't seem to be very accurate. And the calibration is pretty flakey: if the current reading is 78° and you enter 76° for calibration, it should then display 76°, right? But it doesn't. There is a change, but not necessarily in the direction or magnitude that you expect. The only way to achieve the desired result is enter random up or down calibrations until it just happens to land on a value that is closer to correct (+/- 2 °F, of course). - The clock can't display seconds, which defeats the purpose of having an "atomic" radio-synchronized clock. It should be the most precise clock in the house, to be used as the time base for setting all other clocks. But you can only tell approximately what time it is, since in effect it is +/- 30 seconds. - It doesn't display day of the week. (On the BAR888A you could switch between displaying seconds or day of the week) - The manual doesn't document the all of the display's icons, such as the one for the clock radio signal level. - The manual doesn't document the meaning the various weather forecast icons & combinations. For this it directs to an AcuRite website, but the URL given is incorrect. The right page on the AcuRite site is not entirely correct: this model can and does display forecast icon combinations that are not documented on the web page. - AcuRite has a downloadable copy of the Instruction Manual, but it is out of date. The download is from 9/6/2017 but the paper copy included with the product is from 6/10/2019. It appears that the difference is in the support contact information. - It doesn't come with the required batteries for the remote sensor. - The display has user selectable backlight levels: off, 30%, 60%, 100%. There is an auto-dim option, but it dims on a fixed schedule (9 PM to 6 AM), which can not be changed. Nor can you adjust the auto-dim level: it only goes from 100% to 30%. That is, you can't set it to go 60% to 30%, or 100% to 60%. - As another reviewer noted, the display has a non-uniform background; it isn't all black. The display actually has different sections whose background is colored according to that section's backlight. The background is grey for the sections with white digits, darker for sections with blue digits, darker still for sections with red digits. The result is kind of a patchwork display. - The labels on the display (outdoor, humidity, forecast, etc.) are very dim -- almost illegible.

Good overall, but poor viewing angle for screen
This is a good weather station overall. I like its layout, and it shows everything that I find important in an easy-to-read manner. I especially like that the highs and lows since midnight are always displayed (they are the small numbers under the main temperature reading). Many other weather stations require that you go through menus in order to see those (with this one you do need to go through several button pushes to see the all-time highs and lows, but that's different than the highs and lows since midnight). Both the indoor display and the outdoor sensor seem to be well-built. They feel like the $70 I paid for them. I like that the indoor display can be powered by either a plug-in wall adapter or by batteries. When it's plugged in the display's backlight can be on at all times. When on batteries the display's backlight can be turned on, but it turns off after 10 seconds to save power. Other weather stations that run only on batteries either can't have their backlight on all the time, or if they do then their batteries run out very quickly. The only thing I don't like about this weather station is that the display's viewing angle is very poor. When viewed straight on, all the numbers are nicely visible, but if you view it off-angle then the contrast goes way down and you can't see the numbers at all at certain points. Viewing side-to-side is OK, but viewing from below is bad. When viewed from an angle of about 10 degrees below straight-on or lower, the numbers are barely visible. The unfortunate thing about this is that it makes the display's fold-out stand mostly useless because that stand causes it to tilt back. I ended up hanging mine from the wall about 4' from the ground. That way when I'm standing or sitting I can see it quite well.

Quality Product
Excellent product and if you live in Britain or Ireland you can still enjoy this superior weather station you just have to get a step-down transformer but its worth the extra outlay Hilary

Very good, quality product
I've had this running for 6 months and would really miss it if I didn't have it now. Very easy to setup, read and use at any time of the day/night. The LCD screen does get fuzzy at certain angles so I've mounted it vertically straight and it's perfect. For the price, I simply cannot complain, but two points are a weakness for sure. The auto dim night time function has never worked so I simply keep it at its dimmest all the time and this has not been an issue at all, as long as the unit is not in the bedroom. Serves well as a nightlight, it turns out. The only other issue is that the clock does not retain the time if AC power is removed. All other settings appear to retain their settings. Odd. Yes, this is a quality product and well priced at the time imo
