Works Well Inside The Saw

I ordered this hose to replace a hose that had torn inside my Jet table saw. The hose hooks up to the blade shroud to pull dust out of the table saw. The old hose was torn for awhile because when I opened the base cabinet it was full of sawdust. I tried another coil spring hose but for some reason the hose tore in another place. I think my hose clamps (universal types) poked the hose and tore it. After receiving this hose I noticed it was very stiff, but it was like an accordion and could be pulled and pushed to greater or lesser lengths. I tested the hose on my saw, which has connections for a 4 inch hose, and it went on very well. Then I tried to get my old 4 inch hose connectors onto the hose and they didn’t fit. The accordion style of the hose makes the body of the hose larger than the coil type I was using. I had to buy larger hose clamps. It is installed now and the dust collector works very well. It seems to pull more dust away from the blade area than before, but I think the old hose had been torn for a long time – maybe since I bought the saw. I have been consistently cleaning sawdust out of the cabinet area and probably never looked for a tear. Or if I did look I didn’t see it in the dusk like light conditions inside the saw cabinet. The hose’s adjustable length was a lifesaver. I tried it with the saw full up and down, and all the way over to 45 degrees and no problems. It should work well. Be aware that the hose isn’t soft and flexible like many of the see through coil and plastic types. It is somewhat stiff, although it still bends because of the accordion construction. AD2

Works well for Dewalt planer exhaust

Got this to build a dust collection setup for my Dewalt 735x planer. It doesn't fit direct on the planers 4 inch outlet because they are both exactly 4 inches. But with a simple 45 degree connector from the hardware store it works. Its also rigid enough to hold shape unless some of the clear plastic ones. Happy with my purchase but I feel its a bit overpriced.

Limp noodle

Does not hold it bent or straight shape with out a clamp or support. I hoped that I could attach to the hard pipe at wall and item could extend to drill press or lathe to collect fine dust. This idea does work but the hose requires support in middle and end to stay in place. The hose is to heavy to hold shape with out support

actually better than I thought

This collection hose is actually better than I thought because not only is it flexible it can be set in different curves and stays that way. I was thinking it was more flimsily like a dryer connection hose . you can pose this hose in a curve or stretched out or shrunk in position and it stays in that formation. Its more stiff and sturdy than I thought. more like a pvc pipe that you can shape the way you want it to be rather than a hose that changes shape constantly.

So far it's working perfectly

I'm really pleased with this product. I purchased it to setup a semi-rigid exhaust system for my DW735 planer. I go right from the exhaust into a trash can. It works perfectly for this task. Also, just in case it's not clear from the description, this hose isn't really flexible. Basically, you bend it to the shape that you want, and then it holds that position. Works great!

Works exactly as I intended to hook up my table saw to the shop vac and reduce the dust in my shop. Really glad I took the time to do some research and didn’t spend hundreds on an expensive set-up. Those are nice if you have the room but for a small shop, this is perfect.

Difficult to install.

I bought these believing that I could attach 4 inch dust fittings to complete my system. But they will absolutely not fit over any 4 inch dust fittings. UPDATE: I got them to fit but it requires a special technique to get them on (which maybe ought to be explained in an insert). Start with the hose fully collapsed and force the edges of your fitting to grab hold on the edge of the hose. Then you must expand the hose, and pull each wire ring onto the fitting one at a time (finger nails work pretty good for this), forcing each ring onto the fitting little by little.

Very handy and feels like it will last

I use this to move between a few different tools and it feels very solid. Two of them with a coupler between allows much much better options than flexible tubing (you know the kind). At least this one you can keep mostly compressed until you need it all and it doesn't kill your airspeed inside of it. It also stays were you put it for the most part, so it's good at going around corners and the like (and still lets you not have hard 90s).

Great for temporary hookups

This comes in the most effective packaging I've seen for something like this. I was expecting a giant hard to manage slinky hose but this is actually a stiff articulated hose. When you shape the hose into a particular bend, it will hold that. Remember to get some hose clamps. The only challenge I had with this was that the hose was a bit difficult to pull over tighter-fitting connections but that's not a fault of this hose. This is a great short-length hose if you just want to extend the connection point for dust collection from under or behind your tool to a spot that is more easily reachable so you dont have to crawl or reach each time

Found the same for half the price

I needed that for dust collection. Found the idea on YouTube and followed the link. Yesterday, I found the same item, 3 times longer and half the price in a hardware store. I used it so I cannot return it. Great product though.
