No moving parts

Works for cat litter too

Best scooper for grassy areas

This is by far the best type of scooper I have found that works in grass. We have a kennel so I scoop lots of poop. Moved to Alabama where lots of grass grows and lots of rain making poop soft if you don't get to it before the downpour. I had the spatula type scoop, but it wasn't effective in grass, it would smear in or you couldn't get it dug out. My husband purchased the "claw" type that worked great, but having a shoulder injury, my arm would tire after repeated pulling on the lever and having to raise my arm every other poop to dump the poop in the can. I found this because it has the "claw" feature, but you rake (which are flimsy and not as effective either) it into the shovel, which holds more poop than the large claw, and I raise the shovel with my good arm to put in the can. Faster to keep raking into the shovel so my task is completed sooner. I gave it 4 stars (and I debated on 3 stars) because the design could be better. 1st: the handle doesn't come together in the middle, so it is harder to hold the grip then if it either came together or if it were round. 2nd: Another bend in the rake is needed so the poop slides off the claw onto the shovel easier. The angle needed to get it off is a little weird and sometimes you have to tap it (and I don't want poop flying in my face), and lastly, I am a short person (5'3), and even for me the handle is a bit short. Although there are some design changes that would make this a great pooper scooper, it is still the best alternative to the spatula and claw clamp.

Simple one-handed design, but flimsy

This the only kind of ???? scooper I ever buy because I love the simple one-handed design. Careful not to catch a grass runner, though, because the prongs bend easily and it’s aggravating to use when warped. I wish it was sturdier. Still, best type of scooper I’ve ever used.

Hurts hands

I do like that it is all metal. The tines could be more tapered, even if it cost a touch more. Getting used to back handed pick up. Could also be shaped like a regular pitch fork and would work the same.

Easiest pooper scooper to use and clean. It picks up better than those claw type ones and is much more durable.

Turd is the Word

It was a cold and snowy night, as I was out, yet again, tackling the worst part (in my opinion) of a Canadian winter. Frozen Dog Turds! If you have a dog, or multiple dogs, and you live in a cold climate for half the year, you know what I'm talking about. I was outside this cold night, tackling this horrible situation that I dread doing every year, because let's face it, it's a hard and grueling job to pick up frozen poop. As I was out there that night, I thought to myself; there has to be an easier way, there just has to be! Surely, Amazon would have something that could make this job easier for me. So, my search began. I came across this contraption within seconds. I read the reviews, and was happy to see other fellow Canadians dealing with the same issue! After reading their reviews, I figured for $10, I'm trying it! I've got to say, this is probably the BEST purchase I've made so far! I had my dogs area cleaned up in about 3 minutes.. it grabbed frozen turds I didnt even know were there! I used it as a rake, to rake over his potty area first, which made a little pile of frozen turds. Then, just as easily, I was able to use it as a scoop to pick up and dispose of! The snow, the ice, the rocks, they were all left behind, and only the turds were singled out. I highly recommend this product! It's easy to use, light weight yet sturdy! I should also mention that my dog is a 70lb dog, who has diabetes and is on a strict diet which makes him poop more than the average dog. The length of the handle is perfect! No bending or couching to get under and around the bushes. You won't be disappointed with this product!

Poop happens

I had to wonder why they wanted me to rate the warmth of this product... Anyway, as a poop scooper this thing is a life saver! I took the reviews from dog owners to heart and didn’t look back. We have a new pup who was putting out a LOT of poop until we got her on a raw diet. I was thankful to have this product and I still am. Don’t listen to people who say raw is bad for dogs. You just have to know what you’re doing. The proof is in the...poop. We went from massive stinky piles to small compact turds that don’t smell hardly at all. Her coat and skin are healthier too just after a week.

It does the job

This poopie scooper rake is ok to use for large droppings. I am not found of the "handle" which are two wires. It's sturdy enough except the two wires makes it a bit flimsy. It isn't the most comfortable to use. I needed something with a longer handle and this does provide that. It has a good basket to scoop but you need to dig under to scoop. There is a technique to poop scooping. I've have another rake, different style, that was very short and awkward to use as well but I used it until it broke. This one won't break and it does the job.

Does the job

I would have given this scooper a 5 star rating except it's made for people that are 3 feet tall and hurts your back bending over. It's way too short and there's no type of handle so it cramps your hand if you're doing a large area. The rake part itself is awesome and unlike the plastic ones should never break. If they were longer and had a handle they'd be 5☆+

Great on Snow and Grass

Bought this to replace a plastic one. Sturdy but if you’re picking up after multiple dogs you hand will hurt. A soft handle grip might help. Otherwise I’m happy with it.
