Worked so nice I bought it twice!
As a pet mom of two dogs I take my dogs almost everywhere I go. I bought Outward Hound Dog Car Seats the first time four years ago for my Jeep Commander and they have worked great from day one! I use to use the tether type that attached to the seat belt but my dogs didn't like not being able to see out of the window( they are small dogs) which lead to incessant barking that drove my husband crazy! also they would sometimes get their back legs tangled up in the strap. In one of my many amazon searches for pet products I came across Outward Hound Pup Boost Safety Dog Car Seat and they have worked great for me with only one exception, one of my little guys has a bad habit of figuring out how to slip out of his harness while its attached to the doggy car seat! but that has nothing to do with the design or construction I just have a little Houdini on my hands! the doggy car seats have held up very well under daily use for the last four years with very little sign of wear and tear! I have purchased two more for my husbands car since we use his car when traveling together with our dogs and since installing the new seats to his car we have put an end to the barking issue. I highly recommend this dog car seat my small dogs dog love it, they can get in and out with no problem and since the sides are a mesh fabric it is not too confining the bottom is firm and doesn't sag under the weight of my dogs (one weighs 7lbs and the other 8lbs). Over all I am very happy with my purchase and would buy from this vendor again in the future.

Safe and Comfortable
GREAT PRODUCT!!!! What a wonderful idea! I have a 10 lb. Chihuahua who's goal in life is to sit on my lap while I am driving. This, of course, is not the safest idea ever so I end up spending the entire trip repeatedly taking him off my lap and putting him on the other seat. Also, my seats are slippery so he slides while on them even when I try to put his blanket down. I was looking for a solution because he is in the car a lot and I wanted him to be safe and comfortable when I stumbled on this product. It is adorable and reasonably priced. It arrived in less than a week. It was very easy to set up, just adjust the straps and hang it from a headrest. It does not lay on the seat but sits up higher, approx 6 inches off the seat. It has a little cushion in the bottom but my dog is spoiled (if your reading this then your dog probably is too! lol) so I set down a nice thick fleece blanket on the inside of it. This also makes it easy to keep clean as I don't have to clean the seat but instead just throw the blanket in the wash once in awhile. It has a safety strap that clips onto his harness so he can't jump out. It only took him a few minutes for him to get used to. Now he loves it! It puts him up higher so he can see out of the windows easily. On longer trips it is just big enough that he can curl up into his little ball of cuteness and take a nap. It has a little front pocket to store whatever in. Overall it is just a great product and I am so glad that my little angel is safe, comfortable and happy and that I can continue to bring him everywhere. The small is just big enough for my 10 lb dog so if your dog is any bigger I would suggest going up to the medium seat.

Not as well made as the original.
This is the second Outward Hound dog seat I purchased. The first when my Pomeranian was a year old and now this one. He is 10 years old. The first one was well made and has lasted until recently. This one is a cheaper version of the original. I would rather have a better made product. The first one lasted for 9 years and if the bottom hadn't given out I would be still using it. Nothing lasts forever though. I feel I got my money's worth. This time I may not by the looks of this one. On a good note it is easy to install. Three straps, two go over the head rest and the third around the middle of the seat. There is a strap with a hook that attaches to your dog's harness to keep your pup safe and in his or her seat if you have to stop fast. It fits in the seat well. The Medium size, I also purchased, didn't fit well in the seat and got turned a little sideways. It was clumsy. Seats are made with your back in mind and are not flat. They curve. The small dog seat fits nicely. How long it lasts time will tell.

I received my order in perfect condition on time in a great package.It was in new shape like I took it from the shelf. I have had one before for another dog.This one works just as well as the one I had before.They are really just alike.Both of them have the same problem.They don't hold up well in the front. I think they are all made the same (in my price range) . It works for my little 7 lb dog but wish there was a way to make it more stable.Saying that it does the job for me I am happy with it. So is my dog!

Fantastic for small dogs!
This booster seat solved all my problems in one very easy and affordable solution! The seat takes just seconds to install and is is easily removed when you want to sit a person in the seat! Furthermore, your human passenger will see no remnants of the dog's seat occupation, as the seat contains a small dog completely, keeping them off all interior surfaces. The design is ingenious, as it compactly folds for storage (fits in my side door compartment when not in use) and protects all interior surfaces (side door and seat) from eager paws and mouths. Furthermore, I think it actually has a comforting effect, as my dog seems much more calm riding in this booster seat than with other restraint methods. He can see out the windows, but cannot access them from the seat. Furthermore, my mini schnauzer is about 12 lbs (slightly larger than recommended for this product), but he fits very securely in the seat, with enough room to turn himself around and curl up in the base to sleep.

Good!
This is the second one I ordered, the first was too small(S) fortunately I had another dog who could use it and who loves it because she is up high. I originally ordered one because my other dog seemed to get a bit travel sick, as she was very unsettled and would regularly bark and whine in the car. Since I got another booster seat(M) there's been none of that, though it took her a few times to get used to it, now She enjoys it and loves looking out the window, wind blowing in her face, as does my other dog.
