Sturdy
I love how sturdy it is compared to other seats. I like the strap to go around the seats and the around the headrest. I have a Honda coupe and the straps were just long enough to wrap it around both seats on the back. You know how it has the single seat and then the double seat in the back?! Well I’m able to put it behind the driver seat or behind the passenger seat. At first I had her in the front until she was used to being in it and then I moved it to the back. The one thing I do not like is that the top where she rests her head is a little hard. I get it because it’s a sturdy booster seat so what I’ve done is I just put a blanket around so she can lay her head on it. What I’m going to do is buy a pool noodle and put it all around. So far it has worked great and keeps my dog from jumping from lap to lap. I’d say this isn’t for medium size dogs. My mini Dachsund fits just fine but any dog bigger then her wouldn’t be to comfortable for long drives.

I was unsure about how sturdy this would be. It’s actually quite secure. I’m very pleased with the quality and the end result. I travel a lot via car and my pug joins me as often as possible. She used to be content with laying in a crate that was buckled in next to me. Now she’s a bit larger than the size crate that fits in my vehicle. I was utilizing a dog seat belt but realized that she could easily hit the dash even on the shortest of settings. I decided to give this one a try and so far it’s perfect for what I need. My pug is on the smaller size - probably 15 lbs. Once we go for an extended ride I will update with pictures and thoughts on her comfort on long rides. She seems to really be comfortable in it.

I bought these for a relative. She and her dogs love them.
My relative loves these dog travel boxes for her car. She says the dogs settle right in, and enjoy the ride. She says it makes traveling with the dogs much easier. She wants another set for her other vehicle, so she doesn't have to move them from car to car.

Comfy and safe
My pup is so much happier in his booster seat than in a closed off kennel.

Exactly as described
My second booster seat and it is made far better than another brand I purchased in a dept store. Actually is it large enough that both dogs can ride in it -- 7 and 8 pound dogs.

Perfect seat for smaller, anxious pup
This is the third car seat I’ve purchased and I wish I chose this one first - honestly I was put off by the cost and thought there couldn’t be much difference between seats. I was wrong :) I knew I wanted an over-the-seat booster for my 13 lb rescue who needs to be able to see out the window to minimize her car sickness. This seat is small — it couldn’t likely hold a slightly heavier dog but not much taller/longer (my dog’s a chiweenie and is dachshund length with chi-height legs) — but very sturdy. The bottom is reinforced and frame is strong with durable fabric inside and out. My previous booster seat was deeper - with mesh sides - but I could never get it to not slant. It felt flimsy and my pup never fully relaxed. This seat is fairly shallow, but my dog can rest her head on the rim if she wants to sit down (rare for her). The booster is lined in cozy fleece, which is a definite benefit - and removable for cleaning! If you need a booster for a smaller dog, particularly one who’s a bit picky, this is my recommendation.

THIS BOOSTER SEAT SAVED MY DOG'S LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!
I got into a horrible accident less than one week after receiving the booster seat. I was T-boned on a freeway overpass by some jerk hit and run driver. My car spun out of control, slammed into the guardrail several times, and almost flipped over the 50ft overpass before slamming down and finally coming to a stop. I looked in the back and my chihuahua mix, Gustav, was on the floor ***still attached to the booster harness*** and was happily smiling and wagging his tail as if he had just ridden a fun roller coaster! There wasn't a scratch on him. Not even a bruise. My Scion TC was beyond wrecked, the axle and wheels were even ripped off. Every airbag was deployed. Gustav was wearing a harness secured to the booster in the *front* seat. What happened is that the box-like booster protected my dog from the airbags and the harness connected kept my dog from being thrown in the car or going through the windshield. He had jumped in the back seat after the car stopped. One of the CHP officers on the scene told me there was no way my dog would've survived that accident without the seat and harness. He said he's seen a lot of dead dogs. I'm tearing up right now because I'm playing with Gustav instead of cremating him. As for me, I walked away with bruises and a torn ligament. I just have to use a walker and cane to get around for a month or two and I'll be fine. Oh yeah, and the booster seat suffered zero damage so I can continue to use it when I can drive again. I love Gustav so very much. Thank you to the people at Kurgo for saving him. Thank you thank you thank you and God bless!!! ********* Edit October 29th, 2018: I was reading another review where someone mentioned that a Kurgo product failed a vehicle safety test. I looked it up and the claim is true. However - The test, performed by the nonprofit Center for Pet Safety (CPS), was performed in 2015 for the Kurgo Wander Carrier, a backseat attachable pet carrier. I cannot speak for the carrier in question. I can only say that this particular Kurgo product saved my dog's life. What I left out earlier is that both the CHP officer on the scene and the doctor who examined me were so impressed with the booster seat that they took note of the brand so they could buy the seat for their own dogs. Sorry for the long edit, I just want y'all to believe me. XD

Dachshund approved
I bought this for my 9month old Dachshund as a safer way to travel with him in the car. I used to have just a seatbelt for him that attached to his harness which worked ok but he’d climb over me and couldn’t be sat in the front with my partner when he drives. He was a little unsure of the basket at first and I was worried the frame would buckle under his struggles but it stead fast and help up. He soon calmed down and lay down in the basket. I think I might need to put a few more blankets in the bottom as he was able to pull up the bottom panel, and had trouble laying his head on the side. As you can see by the pictures though he was content and as a bonus was still able to look out the window when he wanted to (he loves to watch cars). It lost a star as I did notice it slipped down a bit under his weight, but still held up above the seat. If I could only mark it down half I would. It was easy to fit and he seemed overall happy with it, so I was to! There was plenty of space for him to sit, lie down and move around, as he won’t get much bigger (being a mini dachshund) he won’t outgrow it. Pretty happy with the purchase so far! Bonus picture of when he decided to lie on his back ????

Great for anxious dogs!
When my rescue Shiba inu started to become anxious on car rides I knew I needed to find something to help her. Before this item we had her harness strappled into one of those pet belts. The only problem we had was that shed still wonder the back seat, no matter how short we made the belt, shed always have room to move. The boyfriend has leather chairs too. So the moment hed break or turn a corner. Her furry little bum would slide all over. Couldnt tell you the amount of times she ended up slipping all over the place, once she slipped into the footwell and one time she got free of the belt and ended up climbing through the front seats and on me. All this between vet visits made her a very anxious passanger, who would cry and shake. When I saw this product I knew we had to give it a try. Price margin in my opinion was very high, however I decided to jump in and go for it. And I am glad I did! I now have 2, one for each of the cars. This little booster seat is amazing. We have gone from anxnious dog who cried in the car and did nothing but shake to a dog who has mastered Zen. Its made her comfortable on car rides, she can see out the window if she wants to or sleep in it, which she does a lot! Shes tried escaping the seat once (shibas are well known for being escape artists and stubborn when they get an idea) She didnt get too far due to the harness attachment. The structure of the item is great too. Its very nice and stirdy. Im not worried she will break the seat nor am I worried she will fly out if we stop suddenly. The quality of the product is great. Loads better than the cheaper seats out there. Id love it if they did a slightly bigger seat, but Shibas are quite like cats, if they fits they sits! Needless to say, I am a very happy dog mum. We now go all over the place for long walks as we know she looks forward to sitting in her seat.

Fab bit of kit
This Kurgo Skybox pet travel seat is great! I used to have a wire cage in the back footwell that I put my dog in when travelling but she always wanted to call shotgun and sit next to me ( with a Kurgo seatbelt) but I never felt this was safe so only allowed it for very local short trips. Now she not only gets to sit with me but I can swap seats if I have someone else travelling. She can now see out of the window ( before she would stand up to do this) so doesn't move around anymore. She is safer as there is a buckle to attach her harness and as the seat is held up off the actual car seat should there be an accident there is no weight on the seat so the air bag won't deploy. There is enough room for her to snuggle down and sleep also. Niggles: the pad is rubbish so needs a blanket / the metal bars are where she rests her head while travelling and there is no padding so I stuff a fleece around them but will add some proper padding. Main gripe: the buckles get red hot in the sun so you need a sunshade or to throw a towel over the whole thing when it's hot. All in all it feels well made, is simple to install and is a travel must now.

love it
The media could not be loaded. I have a frug french/pug. i love this seat she dose not cry in the car, in till we stop lol. as she can see out the window. she can also lie down in it to, not fully stretched but shes comfy enough for shortish rides. Also when we have other dogs (big dogs) she wont be crushed by them.

AMAZING!
I should first of all mention that I almost never leave reviews because rarely does anything stand out. This morning, that changed! Our little Jack Russell pup is really hideous in the car, he squiggles around and whines CONSTANTLY...and for a little guy, it's incredibly loud! He has a particularly foul yawn/howl/screech which sounds like a siren, it's horrible and distracting. Anyway, since we've had him I've really noticed how much I can feel the engine rumble, and wondered if it was that making him feel a bit blegh. I was lucky enough to find this seat with a hefty price reduction, but even at full price, it would be so worth while! I installed the seat earlier, it's pretty easy, even with a naughty puppy on your lap. It did take me a minute to realise that you can take the strap with the carabiner off, to get it around the seat belt. I buckled up with my new favourite co-pilot and headed off, without the security of another human passenger on standby. I was a little nervous at first because I thought he'd do some awful stunt and be a huge distraction, or he'd twist around and panic. Nope! His whining was immediately reduced by 90%, he just sat and looked out of the window, and by the time we got to the pet shop, he was asleep and I had to wake him up! I can only assume it was the rumbling, and that he feels nice and secure in his little seat, or that I was making him feel nervous on my lap, because I was probably tensing up when he kicks off. We're now no longer dreading having to take him on a fairly long journey in a couple of weeks. This little seat is life changing!
