A nice entry level edger
This is my first edger - up until now I've been doing edging with a string trimmer. Once I figured out how to use it, I like it. Assembly was easy once I figured out to remove the plugs protecting the ends of the handle sections so that they could fit together. You want to have the wheels on the hard surface when you edge, and line the fin on the end of the edger with your line of travel. Take a small bite first, and make sure your soil is fairly dry to prevent clogging. I had trouble with the nut holding the blade loosening at first, but I got a good-sized wrench and really torqued on it and it seems to be fine now. Wear ear protection, this thing is as loud as a circular saw at the end of a walking stick! Little problems with the documentation and operation aside, this seems to be a good quality tool that gives nice results. Recommended.

Easy to use and make that edge line
The Denali edger has a simple design and is easy to use. Its an electric edger so you will need to have a means to get electricity to wherever you are using it. The operation is very simple. There is 1 button. When you push it in it starts working, let go and it stops. There is a sight on the head of the unit that tells you where the blade is. This makes it easy to follow the edge of a sidewalk or driveway. There is a cut height adjustment screw located on the front left side of the unit. The arm of the unit comes in 2 pieces and there are spring loaded push button height adjustments to make edging more comfortable for your height. I am tall so I have mine adjusted for max height. It works fine like this although the arm feels a little loose as I use the tool. I think as I adjust the arm to make it shorter that loose wobble would go away. There is a handle on the top that is adjustable to the preferred angle and helps hold the edger steady. This handle does tend to sag as I use it no matter how much I tighten it, but not enough that it loosens up as im edging. The edger comes with a blade that was already attached to the edger upon unpacking. I prefer using an edger over trying to do the job with a weed eater because I can get a better cut and it has heels to support the weight. If you have accessible outlets and extension cord to reach where you need to use this is a great option. If you have alot to edge and would have to use multiple extension cords a gas powered edger would probably work better.

Plenty of power even for a rough lawn
This is the first edger I have ever used, but I have plenty of experience with all different types of power tool. I wasn't expecting too much. I have a very rough lawn with some areas that have grass/mud built up over 4" on top of the concrete. With a little persuasion this edger was able to handle it and make a nice clean edge. I was quite impressed with the power it has. I was able to bog it down, but I had to really force it into a lot of mud and grass to do that. On the really rough areas I just ended up making 2 passes. I would make the first pass, then clean off that area of concrete with a flat shovel. Then I made another final pass. A couple of small problems I found is that mud builds up in the guard around the blade. You have to clean it out every now and then. The blade also started slipping pretty early on, but tightening it up seemed to solve that problem. The little wheel on the front also fell off. Luckily it fell off on the concrete and I was able to find the nut and washer to put it back on. All of these problems are very minor. I would recommend torquing down the blade and tightening the nut on the guide wheel before your first use. I am generally a fan of plug in electric tools for use around the house. They could definitely be an inconvenience if you have a big yard. But if you have a smaller yard and a long extension cord you can get so much more value for your money compared to gas or battery powered tools. This is a nice tool for the money. It will without a doubt have enough power to do what you need. It can make a huge difference in the look of your lawn and if you are like me and tend to let things go when it comes to landscaping you may end up having a driveway that is a foot wider than you expected when you are done. I would give it 4.5 stars if possible.

Not bad for the price
I was not expecting this edger to blow me away. Its not a tool I will pull out every time I mow. I see an edger more as a maybe once a month tool to keep things clean and keep the heavy lifting off my trimmer to cut in. It works as intended and keeps the edges clear. It had no problem digging in and clearing out though it did clog up a couple times as the ground was still a little wet from watering. Finally I did hit the sidewalk a little hard on one pass and the nut loosened up on the blade which meant that the motor and shaft would spin but the blade would not... I had to tighten things back up to get it working again but this was more user error so I cannot say its the tools fault. Overall it has the power to do its job and don't feel like its going to cut out on me any time soon.

Works fairly well
There is a guide to help determine where you need to place the blade. It helps. You don't want to start out at the shallowest setting because I needed to have to go deeper right away. It is easy to use. It has enough power for my purposes.

Keep those edges clean. Queue the "Tim the tool man" grunt
Power tools. They are great, and make life easier. I have not ventured into the arena of Amazon branded power tools, but have to say - I am impressed. It is well made, easy to assemble and does a great job. It took a few mistakes to figure out the right placement and depth, but once I did, It made my typical trimmer work a lot easier. Only down side to this is the need for a power cord, but that is mostly because I was consistently afraid I was about to cut it in two. That didn't happen, so mission accomplished! Try the Amazon brand lawn edger. It is worth the investment.
