Powerful Trimmer
My trimmer broke on me last summer and I was in need of a nice powerful trimmer and behold Greenworks Cordless String Trimmer. I my yard is pretty big, but under an half an acker. With this trimmer I have a dual line that cuts the grass so much easier and the battery is outstanding. I can trim the front and back on one charge. I do recommend!

Works well
Only issue was putting the string in it

Easy trimming
Easy handling and tough, I have been using this trimmer once per month from last year.

It's basic
It's a basic weed wacker. Its corded so dragging the cord is annoying, the grey handle isn't placed well even if you move it farther down, the vibration is pretty bad, it's better if the handles are adjusted but not perfect. For me the vibration makes my arms hurt days later, plus it gets tiring holding it while weed wacking, imo not a good design. Probably better to get the kind professionals use, lol.

Need 10 stars for this one
This is the best weed eater EVER and great value for the price! Let me provide some context. I'm a 56 year old woman, 5'3. I live on a natural heavily wooded lot - no grass, leaves, wild prickly vines, privet, lots of small branches, twigs, very heavy use for my cutter. I struggle mightily with gas powered machines. They are very heavy for me and are next to impossible to start - my arms aren't long enough. I have to put the machine on the ground and stand on a step to be able to pull the cord all the way and have difficulty pulling it properly to get it started. Then, if it dies out in the woods, I have to walk back to a place where I can elevate myself above the machine - a royal pain and after a while, I lose strength to start the blasted thing. Totally exhausting after just a short period of time. I never seem to be able to find a comfortable length and am constantly adjusting as it is just too long. Very fatiguing to say the least. In comparison, the GreenWorks is so amazingly light and of course, being electric, starts at a press of the handle. I have very little fatigue and the adjustment lengths are just perfect for me. No struggling to change handle orientation or open head. I especially like the swivel feature and the hook in the handle to hold the cord. Rather than bump the head to extend the line, you simply turn the unit on, then off, then on again. It's a little tricky, but once you figure it out, is really easy. If the line is caught inside and won't extend, there is a release button on the head that I can actually work. And I can take the head off without a struggle but yet everything is firm and tight and snaps easily back into place. The GreenWorks cuts beautifully with minimal snags, and has increased tremendously my running/cutting time! More time cutting, less time fiddling to get it adjusted or to run. I've learned that it even cuts taller privet by lifting to waist height (which I never would be able to do with a gas powered unit), cutting top to bottom all the way to the ground. The GreenWorks runs consistently and my cutting time has increased so much compared to a gas powered unit. Line snags are minimal, and most of the time are the result of tangles created by me when twining the line. What a workhorse this little trimmer is! It appears to be very well made, was packaged nicely and arrived on time. I can see the possibility that a taller person may find the length uncomfortable as it seems you would have to bend over if it's not long enough for you. But it is the perfect length for me and so easy to adjust the length longer or shorter, depending upon what I'm cutting. I used the unit with (2) of those orange 100 ft extension cords from Home Depot with no trouble. I am so happy with this unit that I actually look forward to cutting. And so easy to get it up and running, I use it more than I ever used my gas powered unit, which was such a hassle. I've had the unit for about a month and used maybe 10 hours so far with no issues at all. I highly recommend this unit, especially for anyone who struggles with gas powered units. Quick, easy, light, so comfortable to use and runs beautifully and extremely affordably priced. It cuts everything I've thrown at it beautifully and consistently. Time will tell how long the unit will last, especially in my harsher environment. I would purchase this unit again and again and am totally sold. I would even go so far as to say that if for some reason it doesn't last, I wouldn't bat an eye in purchasing it a couple of times a summer, since it is so affordable and easy to use - a real workhorse! Did I say how much I love this cutter? :)

Want to love it but...
I want to love this but 1st impressions are this: I am biased coming from a gas trimmer that has attachments for blower and edger. 1) It starts right away and just keeps working till you turn it off. Power is less than my gas trimmer but worth it to just have an instant on. 2) The shaft is short. It adjusts but from super small to short. I am 6'1" and wish it extended some more. I read the other review of the taller guy who said it was fine... perhaps I will get use to it... but 1st impression.. it is short! 3) I could not figure out the auto line advancement. I ended up manually advancing it with the button on the bottom of the spool. I have read releasing the button and starting again advances the line.. but it occasionally seems to not work and I manually push the button on the bottom. 4) No extra line. I am going to go ahead and order more line right now.... not a new spool since that is $16 for a back of 3 (Greenworks 29242 3-Pack Replacement Trimmer Line Spool for 21052 and 21212). These spools are out of stock anyways! FYI: The line has to be 0.65in diameter. I will order this for $7: Weed Eater 952701594 0.065-Inch-by-200-Foot Bulk Round String Trimmer Line FYI - The spool is 2 lines... not the single line spool for different models. 5) Edging: Rotating the unit to edge with the guard extended is odd. I need to be on the opposite side of where I normally edge. I need to be on the grass facing the curb. That is the only way to handle it to cut along the concrete edge... the guide is not designed to rest on the concrete either.. to run along... you have to drag the guard into a channel you create with the line. 6) The Cord: The balance between instant power vs freedom is a fine line. having a cord gives POWER! No batteries to deal with. A cord can limit you quickly though having fun cutting. I ended up getting a 100ft cord with a new winder: Green Leaf WW-1 Wonder Winder Hand Crank Extension Cord Winder which is $19 and is a great thing to have if you use any wired lawn equipment. Overall... it does the job. I would love to get a battery version but hear horrible things about them not lasting long enough to do the whole yard. This is an inexpensive trimmer and is great for small yards. I have not dealt with replacing line yet, but will come back later and let you all know. The plastic bottom does get scrapped a lot. I hope this thing lasts. UPDATE: May 22, 2011 - Down to 3 stars. Well... I bought some replacement string [...] and I ATTEMPTED to restring the empty spool BUT... no matter how well I wind it... when I run it the 1st time... it runs out long and wraps around the spool getting caught. I have to cut it free and restring again. I have yet to have this thing work without the original spool. The company website says that these come with an extra spool.. which it does not. There is no way to order replacement spool that is pre-wound since it is out of stock. The worst is.. I JUST tossed the box yesterday thinking I would not run into any issues.. so I cannot return it! That sucks. I have tried re-stringing it 4x so far and each time it gets caught. I am wasting line here. Be warned. UPDATE June 2, 2011: Still Three stars... I ended up getting the line manually strung.. FINALLY. (No replacement spools to speak of out there). The instructions seemed wrong so I had to disregard the instructions completely and go with the picture on the web and common sense. I miss the freedom of a gas trimmer... but having the Green Leaf WW-1 Wonder Winder and a long cord has been excellent balance of both. If I had to do it over I would get the bigger head... and longer shaft (I think).

Happy so far
We are happy with it so far. When our gas one sprung a leak we decided to go electric. I had other greenworks products and have been happy with them. We likes this one so much we have bought the blower and hedge trimmer that use the same batteries which is super convenient. Power is just as good as out gas one and no more noise or fumes. We have a large yard ( third of an acre city lot ) and the battery can do the whole yard without issue.

Decent unit for small property
This unit was easy to attach grass shield, and shaft handle, I was surprised by how well it worked and it did a good job, I purchased this corded unit as I have electrical outlets easily accessible on my property

Super impressed
I used a battery operated swiper before this. I THOUGHT it was good until I decided to try this one from Greenworks - where has this been all my life - MIND BLOWN . This will lift the dirt off the ground if you let it. Extremely sharp , does it’s job. Very easy to manoeuvre. Just plug and go. No regrets here

Good entry level but a bit left to desire
This is powerful enough to trim my average sized Canadian suburban home. The 2 24v batteries give approximately 45-60 mins depending on if I use the 1st or 2nd speed. The bump feed and speed feed head is super easy to use.

Cómodo y practico
Muy cómoda y práctica se puede hacer más pequeña para guardarla y no tiene cable se conecta directo a una extensión solo revisar qué tenga la misma entrada y quepa en el orificio de la orilladora
