Gardena 8885-U 3-Inch Cordless Lithium Ion Grass Shears, Classic Cut
As an elderly person who tries to find easy ways to do yard clean-up I have found these shears to do an awesome job. They, of course, do not like small stones and twigs but they do a great job for grass and soft stemmed items. Downside = I still have to get low to the ground as I don't work well bending over. But, cleaning up the foliage that creeps into unwanted spaces has become a lot easier. The battery lasts about as long as my energy so it is plenty for me. It does seem to take a while to charge but that is not a problem for me. My only problem now is that they are currently unavailable. I was planning to buy some more for myself so I could have one on hand if the battery quit before the job was complete and I was also going to buy some for gifts. They are fun to use. Just keep fingers away from the blades!

Hard to Get Replacement Blads
I have used Gardena's grass blades for a long, long time. My old ones died due to the battery no longer holding a charge. Then the new model came out. I got it and really like it. It is an improvement over the old one, and cheaper too! But here is the kicker: To get a new replacement blade it costs $75 and you have to contact their company support which is in Canada. I have been trying to get replacement blades for over a week and we are still contacting each other back and forth from their customer service desk. The other issue is that I will have to pay shipping, which I don't have to do when they post the blades on amazon. I don't know why they aren't posting the replacement blades on amazon. Maybe I should do like someone else posted and use a dremel to sharpen the blades. So just a heads up... replacement blades are a much more involved process.... and more costly than previously.

Clips niceley
If clips grass nicely, but nothing with a very thick stem/stalk. It is a little difficult for me to keep in the 'on' position, but I guess that's better than cutting off a finger or something. I'd buy again. It is easier for me to use then a weed eater.

Off Balance
When I hold the handle to edge my lawn or trim medium-sized evergreen bushes, the weight of the Grass Shears stresses my wrist. The blade and battery weight is causing my wrist to flex too much while I hold the shears. On a positive note, the shears are nice and sharp and give a nice edge to the lawn.

Great Gardena quality.
I had the previous model of the Gardena. I've had it for 10 years without an issue...except, the charger quit working after all those years and I could not find a replacement. Contacted everyone including Gardena. No luck. So, I bought the new version. Same solid quality. However, the new model has a much longer charged running time. The new model has a position changing handle that could come in handy. I've not had occasion to use it in a different setting. Solid product. Does a great job. No issues.

Best Grass Shears I ever used
These are incredibly good grass shears. I use them for trimming around planters and along the house. They are very sharp and hold a charge for about 45 minutes. They feel good in your hand and are easy to use. The only down side is the blades, which stay sharp for a long time, cannot be sharpened and replacements are expensive.

Better than expected!
I ordered this on Friday and it arrived on Sunday... just as I was beginning to mow the grass. I plugged it in for a bit and then took it out to trim the tall grass on the side of the house and along a retaining wall where the mower can't reach. It cut effortlessly and I was easily able to get everything done on the partial charge. Like many others, I had a cheaper model from Home Depot that I gladly retired a few weeks ago. That model was frustrating, lacking power to cut through the grass, frequently locking up, and requiring one or more charges to get the job done. The Gardena 8885 cut so well, a full charge wasn't even needed. I was done trimming in little time. I chose this 3.6v model over the 8893 for the cost savings and because I didn't think I'd need the extra duration the 8893 affords. So far, I don't have any regrets over that choice. I was a little concerned at first when I turned it on because the blades seemed slow but it truly trimmed the grass like a hot knife through butter. I'm not one to write reviews but this model was worth every penny and I'm so glad I didn't go for another off the shelf model. It is very light. This model doesn't have the wheels but I saw no need for them. Yes, the cord is a little tough to plug in but I'll overlook that. I didn't see any way to lock it in the on position but had no trouble with using the trigger. Once it's going, you can let go of the top knob so I didn't find that difficult. I will gladly give this 5 stars.

Just Great
Bought this after years of frustration with old style grass clippers. Why did I wait?? This is just perfect for grass and I have also used it on vinca which is always beautiful but invasive. As my mama would say: this works slick. Saving me hours of backbreaking hand work. I am able to cut around my pots and flowers in my garden where the vinca grows along with lots of flowers and pots. It's a beautiful garden and this allows me to keep the vinca under control. I also used to trim grass along a rock wall. Worked beautifully. Now I just hope it will last. I've only had it 2 weeks.

Excellent cutter and easy to use
Much simpler than strimming with a handy handle so you don't have to bend down. One of the best things I've bought for the garden - the lawn always looks great and well trimed

Was soll das !?
