Looks like it would work great, but…
The design looks like it would be easy to use, but it isn’t. Much more difficult to use than conventional shears, and doesn’t cut very well. But nice try.

Avoids jamming; easy to use; real, real light; sharp too; light "spring" tension
I didn't believe the light weight and the thin package when it arrived. It was so light I thought it was an operating manual and someone forgot to include the shears. Refuses to jam because of the blades' coating; right and light handed use. Made in West Germany. Hard to find in the U.S. except on Amazon. The shears can be turned 90 degrees by simply turning the shear base. It took me a while to figure out how to open the shears. There is a slide bar on the top that moves back and forth to open and close. The shears appear to be too short but the blades cut their entire length. Best tool of its type. Avoids using a weed whacker that can break windows and poke your child's eye out. I thought the 27 inch handle would be too short to use but it is just right. It should have come with an operating manual on how to use it properly. The tension or "spring" in the operating mechanism is so light that my fingers, wrists, and forearms, did't hurt for days after trimming my grass for the first time of the spring season. I can now use the shears every other week because the unit works so well. Thank you Amazon for making this product available in the U.S.

More ergonomic than other cutters--but not a 5-star performance
I made my husband bring back the clippers (below) because I thought that these looked so much easier. They are easier to handle but the blades are shorter and so don't cut quite as much. Also, it isn't quite as easy to handle as I thought. I am a little disappointed that for the price it isn't better in terms of performance. I had hoped that I could cut the tips of my Lavenders with it but it doesn't work. I realize that they are thicker than grass but I could cut them with a normal grass cutter. My husband likes these cutters but isn't overly impressed. These are the ones we bought first: Corona Clipper Grass Shear With Vinyl Coated Steel Handles GS 6750. But after reading how hard it is to work with them a length of time, we took them back.

worse then my rusty old shears
The concept is great. If there is a somewhat thick stem it wont cut it. The blades are not sharp enough to cut anything but thin reg grass and if there is any moister at all you have to start at the top and clip alittle at a time. I might sharpen the blades to see if that helps. It is also much harder to squeeze the grip so the blades cut. Anyone with a history of carpell tunnel and somewhat weak hand and wrist power should not use this shears. It may have an ergonomic handle but that only helps if your wrists and hand muscles are already in good shape. If you have normal gripping power this might work. The resistance that is caused by the design which is necessarry for the shears to work is a major problem. I had high hopes for this and if i hadnt gotten 3 cortezone shots in my wrist i woulnt have been able to use it at all. I did find one thing that helped. If i grabbed the grass with my left hand and pulled so that it did not have any play in it and then used the shears with my right hand it seemed to work much better. As bad as my rusty old shears was I never had to use two hands to make it work. Rotating the blade doesnt help because the tension designed into the shears makes it simple harder to squeese the handle. update: I sharpened the blades and it worked much better. I used the Accusharp 012C Combo Pack Knife Sharpener which i also purchased on amazon

Am, Am Not
So I like these are not made in cheapoAsia. Have a Gardena sprinkler and soFar soGood. For some reason I was expecting these to be razor sharp and butter like a hot knife thru regular 5" weeds n grass in the garden. Not So, Not All The Time. Sometimes it sliced w ease, othertimes it was a no go. Possibly the Benefit is also the Detriment. Seeing as these heads can Rotate 360, possibly, the angle of approach for snipping is a mm off, preventing a clean chop. What i did like was the versatility, use one hand, switch to the other. I was able to clean a 12x8 garden space with rough precision in about 30min.

Plastic is not strong enough !
Gardena 8735 Comfort 27-Inch Swiveling Grass Shears With Ergonomic Handle My wife wanted something easy to use so she could help trim around the lawn and garden . It was a nice tool for her until it broke. The holder for the shears cracked apart and the pin fell out and was lost . I had put it away for a few years ,found it had a 25 year warranty on it and hoping something could be done about it .

Nice colors but really does not work as represented!!
I can't think of anything positive to say. While the handle design looks like it might be innovative, it really doesn't make it easier to manipulate the shears. The real problem (noted by at least one reviewer, but I didn't listen) is that the shears seems to work for only fine blades of grass, nothing tougher. If you need to trim around shrubs or along a fence, e.g., there are likely to be weeds among the grass, and this tool just isn't up to the task. I returned the shears.

Gardena 8735 Comfort 27" Shears
Was expecting it to be much easier on the hands, especially because of the high price. My hand still starts to hurt after only some use.
