Perfect replacement for a non-working factory control

We bought a house with a non-working fan control of a different brand. This control wasn't an exact match to the bad control, but looked very close, so I decided to give it a try. It seems that all these devices are made alike and sold under different brand names. I thought this wall mounted control would be hard wired to the fan, but it actually works by sending a radio signal to the fan. If your wall control isn't working, the problem could be with the wall control or the receiver in the fan. Working with the receiver can make for an awkward situation if you fan is high off the floor. Plan on getting on a ladder at least 8 feet off the floor if you need to access the receiver. Dip switch settings in the wall control must match settings in the fan receiver. Leave the dip switch settings in your wall control and fan receiver in their original positions and check to see if they match. Initially, set the new wall control dip switches to match the settings on the old wall control. I took pictures with my phone of the settings on the old wall control and the receiver for reference. There are 4 dip switches on each device so if things don't match you only have 16 switch configurations to try to cover all possibilities. Make sure your wall control, receiver and fan have power. Your fan should also work with a hand held control if you match the dip switch settings. This unit has been working great for about a year now. Good luck out there.

Exact Replacement Model

Replaced an inoperative 15 year old Ellington ceiling fan wall switch unit. This Fanimation replacement wall switch was the exact same model. All the needed parts were included and the instructions were straightforward. Hard-wired and installed easily in less than 5-minutes. Set the switch-codes the same as old wall switch. The fan, up lights, and down lights now all work like new.

Perfect replacement for Ellington fan control unit

Years ago when I built my house, we purchased an Ellington Fan for our living room. Within 2 years the supplied wall switch started making a fizzing noise each time I shut the fan off using the On/Off switch on the bottom of the control unit. The control unit eventually gave out and no longer controlled the fan. I came across this Control unit from Fanimation and installed using the same wire configuration as the Ellington switch and sure enough I am back in business. This unit worked perfect for replacing my 7 button control unit.

Expensive switch that doesn't work properly!

The product arrived fast...that is the only thing positive about it. The switch only works to turn power on to the fan and light, no other buttons or controls work on the switch. Also, you can't completely shut fan off with remote, the lights flicker slightly until you shut the wall switch off...

Perfect replacement and easy to install

Used this replacement to replace a 13 year old Minka Aire ceiling fan-light combo. Some of the switches on the original were no longer working. This replacement was easy to install (3-wires) and works beautifully. Found all switches to be very responsive. Nice replacement and affordable.

Works Great for a 2 Light Hampton Bay Fan

On my original switch the 2 light buttons stopped working after about 13 years. I found the Fanimation C23 looked identical and bought it and it works perfect on my Hampton Bay fan. All I had to do was set the DIP switches to match my original switch.
