Knob hard to grip, lowest speed not useful for bath fan, deeper than my prior switch
Well, this switch is just meh. It's deeper than my prior rotary fan switch, which in a crowded electrical box, makes installation a little difficult. The knob is smooth and glossy, and not very tall, and small, making it hard to grip and turn, why not some texture or knurling?. The 5 positions don't correspond to the printed positions on the cover plate (the knob rotates about 180 degrees, but the printed positions are on a narrower arc), so it's sort of confusing which setting the knob/switch is set to. I'm using this on a Broan bath fan, the lowest speed setting is sort of useless. About the only positive thing is that it includes three colors (white, beige, almond), but I only needed the white, so the extra plastic is just going to recycling. I guess it does function, so there's that....

Installed on broan exhaust fan
Had a broan brand switchand it fail right out of the box bought this one to replace and works great. Does come with multiple covers to match existing wall plate. If fingers are wet it is a little harder to turn knob because its smooth.

Deceiving description, item not backlit
Works well but the product name is deceiving as this is not backlit and the description makes no mention of this.

Good switch, but needs improvement
The switch was purchased to replace a previous slide style that developed issues. This switch was easy to install and is simple to use. The only issue is the lack of distinct activation - the initial speed setting does not have a definitive click or positional fix to activate the fan, causing me to play with it back and forth until the fan turns on. The other speed setting seem to activate fine though. I purchased a few of these and have found the same issue in each of them. The switch is an improvement over others and would still be recommended. Hopefully the manufacturer improves the dial settings.

I’m cheap, but not easily pleased.
I gave this one a try as it was the most reasonably priced of the well-reviewed fan switches, when I opted for this approach over the remote version of my two new ceiling fans. It did not disappoint: It looks, feels, and behaves like a much more expensive unit; if I were to guess its cost, I’d easily say $25-40. I was initially concerned about the low price, as other “budget” switches got flamed in their reviews, and...you get what you pay for. I can assure you that, while this isn’t the most sleek and modern looking switch if its kind, it is solid. The speed thing goes something like this: You set your fan’s pull switch to the highest setting, and the switch takes it from there. The Max setting is likely a 100% pass-through, with them staggered in a linear fashion down to the Low setting, which is slow enough to where you can see the individual blades turn. If you are more concerned with value than looks, you won’t be compromising build quality or performance with this buy.

Great operation, but with one unfortunate flaw
The good: It works and there is no fan noise/hum. The bad: the rotary switch is not knurled. It's round and smooth and very stiff to turn, so if your hands are even the slightest bit damp, you will not be able to turn it. I typically adjust the fan (over my dining table) right after cooking/serving dinner. I wash my hands before eating and I always have to use my shirt to turn the dial. This would be a perfect item if it had a knurled knob. My kingdom for a knurled knob!

Really nice with one exception
Comes with 3 different knobs and cover plates which is super nice. But the knobs are really small. Not so good for older hands.

Simple fan control
It’s easy to install, works exactly as it should. Easy to use, looks good on the wall. It’s not fancy. It’s exactly what I wanted/expected.

Works for intended purpose.
Used it to hook two ceiling fans up in garage runs both no problem , just make sure both fans are exactly the same , mine are not the same brand and they dont turn at the same speed.

Only works when set at MAX with my fan.
My need was not for a ceiling fan. I took a chance but the fan won't work unless it is set at MAX which defeat the purpose.
