It's either perfect or meh depending on what you're trying to do with it
If you're planning, as I was, to make a watercolor sketchbook with this, it's grain short, with the grain running parallel to the 11 inch side. Even so, and even with the glue being on the short edge, this falls apart quite easily, a plus for me because that means no tearing. A minus if you intend to keep the book intact. If you want the best paper out there, go with Arches. If you plan to do the curriculum with Watercolor College, Chris Lyonn, the instructor, has stated if you're in the US, just go get that. I tried this on a lark, and he's not wrong. It can't do the things Arches can, for the techniques in that class. That said, if you're painting with Sarah Cray over at Let's Make Art, this is the exact paper she uses, or at least used to until they released their home brand, and it works perfectly for everything she teaches. The difference? While both embrace the spontaneous nature of watercolor, especially in things like clouds and trees, Chris avoids blooms and the rough, unblended edges they create. Sarah embraces blooms and the visual interest they provide. This paper makes it easier to get, harder to avoid, blooms. Chris works with natural pigment tube and pan based paints from brands like Winsor and Newton and Daniel Smith, favoring the lightfast properties and colors more suited to realistic paintings. Sarah favors dye-based liquid watercolors from brands like Dr. Ph Martins for their brighter colors better suited to illustrative painting. This works better with those dye-based paints, not as well with the tube and pan. So it's either perfect or meh, depending on your intention. Additionally, this is popular with the urban sketch crowd because it is a stable, strong paper that can put up with a lot of reworking the under drawing without damage to the paper fibers. If that's what you are looking for, then this is a great choice. That's my planned use for it, once it's in a sketchbook form. That property of ease of reworking makes it ideal for beginners.

Excellent for practicing skills
My review is geared to beginners: Had I known more about watercolors I would have been highly skilled by now. If you want to learn watercolors you absolutely MUST use artists quality because student quality is rubbish and will disappoint you to the point of giving it up. (For paper you need to use cotton). That being the best advice I wish I had been given years ago, THIS paper is great for practicing your skills. Blotting your brushes before you paint on cotton. What to understand is that you aren’t practicing watercolor because it won’t handle on cotton like it does on wood pulp papers such as this. But every artist should practice drawing daily; watercolors are known for being used by royalty because it’ll cost a kings ransom to outfit yourself with professional supplies, but you must, even if little by little. Practice strokes, textures and techniques. Practice perspective and simplifying scenes, and do it on paper like this. You’ll have to learn cotton paper when the time comes, but there’s no reason to PRACTICE many painter skills on expensive paper. I made a couple cards at the holidays with this and found it to be very thirsty paper (needs lots of paint to get effect I was after). Tons of tutorials by all types of artists on internet. (Mind of Watercolor is great for beginners). M. Graham paints are easier to handle for beginners than many Daniel Smith but most people don’t like M. Graham for travel and in situ because they don’t harden up in palettes. Winsor Newton is all hype and selling rubbish based on celebrity of “royals” (eyeroll). Student grades are garbage and I wouldn’t even buy them for children. So. This is good inexpensive paper for you to learn and develop a style. Great for daily skills development and when you make to jump to cotton paper once you’re happy with your style, it’s handy paper to boot brushes when controlling how much water is on your brush. In the end, save your color practice papers or did even dud cotton paper paintings (you’ll have plenty duds!) and chop them up for collages or donate to a collage artist or fun for kids. (Find new non toxic paints, but still, dump your paint rinse water outside, not down the drains). Have fun!!

Great
The only reason I'm not giving this paper 5 stars is because watercolor painting is a hobby for me. Professional artists may judge it differently. But it's very reasonably priced and paint works lovely on it. Highly recommended for students and nonprofessionals.

Great quality paper!
This was my first time buying this type a paper. A true beginner to watercolor painting. I've used it a few times already and find it easy to work with. Great quality paper, heavy and durable. Easy to paint on without bleeding through. Even after drying that paper is not distorted from my lack of training on how much liquid to use while painting. Will continue to use this paper, as I continue to grow my skills.

Def Good practice paper
It’s a good paper to practice your watercolor techniques. I wouldn’t put a finished piece on this paper. I don’t mind filling it up and throwing it away — no guilt because it’s expensive - it’s a good price point to practice and pitch.

Interesting paper
I'm a professional watercolor artist and have used all the best paper out there. Arches, Hahnemuhle, Baohong...all have their quirks. This paper is no different. It's not cotton but it works. This little line and wash I did behaved quite well. I'm enjoying the paper. It just might be good enough to handle a commission or 2. I ordered the 2 pack but only received one. I hope the seller makes it right. The paper gets 5 stars, the seller...not.

Pretty good if you know how to use it.
It's not cotton paper and it's low price but you can still make beautiful art with it. The trick if to wet the underside of the paper before using it and tape on a flat surface. This prevent it from warping too much under the water of wet on wet. I had no problem using drawing gum with it or putting on multiple layers. For bokeh technique, the paper was a bit fragile, so lifting by rubbing must be done super gently. For a wood pulp paper it's not Strathmore 300 series quality but it's still good for sketches and practicing without breaking the bank when on a tight budget. I would use a better quality paper for artwork to sell though.

Great product, watch out for moody delivery people ????
The product is great the paper is amazing, although I didn't expect to be that big, also this may not relate to the product but I feel it's funny, my delivery man I guess was having a bad day and decided to leave my package...infront of my garbage bin....how nice right? I was worried that someone stole my product since I couldn't find it but then there it was...but overall great product worth the money the texture is thick enough for watercolor and other paints. It's so thick that you can do a watercolor painting on both sides truly a great product.

Good quality paper for watercolour practice
I am happy with the quality of this paper as it works out pretty well for my watercolour practice. It can take a lot of water, but I find it dries fast. Not easy to do much wet in wet. But overall, it performs well.

Decent paper, good for beginners.
Great beginner watercolour paper. It isn't the best paper, but it's much better than dollar store watercolour paper! It is very thick, almost like cardstock, which is perfect for watercolours. I've never had any bleed through. For the price, I'd say this is a great deal! And for beginner painters, this is all you need to start out with. Overall, I'd recommend this product.

Great item, came damaged
Great thickness and blendability of the paper with multiple brands and types of watercolour. The pack came damaged but the papers are in perfect condition just no longet attached to the protective pad
