Good for thick or hair with volume

I have a lot of hair and it’s not necessarily thick, but when I want to put it in a bun, it takes at least 15 regular size bobby pins to secure it. And even then it doesn’t feel right, and when I go to take my hair out, half of the pins are bent. So I bought these, and they work really nicely! I like how they are curved, and they don’t wear out easily.

Perfect for long heavy hair

I have waist length hair and these are the only pins that will hold my hair in a bun. They’re nice and smooth and do not damage your hair.

I’ve tried everything and these are the best!

I recently ordered a couple of tubes of these and after trying them I immediately bought several more for myself and my friends with long hair. They are simply the best hairpins that I’ve found to hold my very long, thick but slippery hair in a comfortable bun all day. I’ve tried just about every hairpin I could find over the last few years from Diane and other readily available brands in the US as well as several styles of Amish steel pins, Bunheads by Capezio and I’ve even ordered pins from Japan and France but I prefer these over all of them. They are nothing like the thin, straight pins that are readily available in boxes of 100 or more. They have the perfect shape, thickness and bend that I need. I like them much more than the Bunheads which have a square tip and are very wide at the opening and they stay in place better than the Amish steel pins which tend to slip right out of my hair unless I use a lot of them but they still tend to loosen during the day. One or two of these pins can hold a casual/messy bun and four will firmly hold my hair in a more structured bun all day long. I’ve even napped with them in my hair and my bun was in place when I got up. They are very thick and have a slight curve to help them fit firmly against the head that also makes them extremely comfortable. These are the pins I’ve wanted all along and I just wish I had found them first before spending a small fortune on all the other pins out there. Very highly recommended!

THESE PINS ARE AWESOME!

I bought these pins for my daughter who has to do her hair in a bun for dance but has incredibly thick hair. Most pins bend and or she has to put a million of them in her hair for the bun to stay. But these allow her to put only like 4 in her bun and it will stay up all day. They hold the hair up perfectly, even if the pin is not pushed into a hairband it stays. Amazing product, totally recommends. My only note is that if you have thinner hair these may not be for you. Note: The picture with the two pins side by side is a comparison between these pins and the ones she used to use. Hope this helps anyone who needs it!

Game Changer worth their weight in gold

I have thick knee length hair, the kind of hair that destroys all but the strongest bobby pins and hair pins. Truly, I am where bobby pins come to die horrible mangled deaths, I shatter plastic pins too. On top of that, I am picky about what I put in my hair. I avoid products that would damage it. I got these in hopes of replacing the old style plastic hairpins that I love (but destroy after a use or two). These are simply magical. 2-3 pins is all it takes to put my hair up in one large bun - and it stays even if I run around! Bonus - they are as easy to pull out as to put in. Im on updo #3 today just because it is such a novel experience to be able to securely put my hair up in previously impossible ways. Tomorrow, I'm rocking Leia buns! Thank you Bloch. 5/12/21 Update - Folks, it has been one year, and I am still using the original 10 hairpins and have not managed to destroy any of them. Where have these been all my life? 3/27/23 - still using the first 10 I bought and still love them. I've lost two in the depths of my purse fter their container popped open, so down to 8, but still using happily for updos with my still very long and thick hair.

Heavy Duty Pins!

Ok. I have fine, thin, silky, nearly waist-length hair. If I braid my hair, I can totally just use one pin to put it up for many hours. I'm a hair futzer so I can't say "all day" with any honesty because that's just not how I roll. But if I did not play with my hair mindlessly, I could see my one-Bloch-pin bun lasting all day. I'm normally a french comb kinda dame, but there are some days when my hair just won't keep it in. Even if my hair is braided. Some days, I can go for miles without my bun falling out, but others, it barely lasts a block. I've been shoving one pin into my hair since I got this container and that one pin has not had any issues keeping my bun in place. It works on my hair loose as well but my bun feels permanent if my hair is in a braid. I expect someone with meaningful hair skills can work magic with these pins.

They are the best, but the decorative top layer comes off over time.

For thick and heavy hair Bloch is the best. But, the top layer comes off over time. See the picture, the two on the right are well used ones. Anyway, I only buy this kind. There is nothing even close in quality on the market.

Holds up my super long fine hair beautifully

I have super long but fine hair and I have struggled my whole life to find something that I could easily pin my hair up with and not be in pain or have my hair slip out of. These are the winning ticket ????I can simply twist my hair and use 5 or 6 pins and they hold my hair up all day. I am so glad that I finally found something that works and doesn't break the bank.

Missing pins

I ordered two packs of these and one arrived with 9 pins and the other with all 12. It’s such a hassle to send back.
