Great boot true to size

I ordered this boot in brown half size smaller as many reviewers suggest. I normally use dress shoes in 10-10.5. I consider my foot wide. I use 10 in wide or big shoes and 10.5 in normal to narrow. I ordered this boot in size 9.5 M. The boot resulted very narrow for my foot and exact in the length with very thin dress socks. I returned the boot and will order it probably in 10W or 10.5 M as I do with all my dress shoes . So I consider this boot run true to size. Especially if planed to be use as a dress shoe with thin socks and without insole. I loved the leathe smell and feel also the shape of the boot was very pleasant for me. The construction is very good. I din't like the flat laces because they look to casual for me and are difficult to pass true the quick lacing sister of the boot in my opinion. I prefere a more classic look with normal eyelets. Also I will prefere a full leather insole like in the RW Beckmann not the half insole this one have. Overall a outstanding boot worth the money.

Classic work boot style without work boot bulk

These boots are a staple of my wardrobe and are worn with jeans, chinos, and slacks. The full grain leather upper and leather sole with a Vibram heal are fantastic. At some point they may need a cobbler given how much walking I do in them, but it's a boot that will last for casual everyday use. I wouldn't use this as a work boot as there definitely more rugged models that have a thicker soul and actual steel cap toe like Red Wing Iron Rangers. That said, I like that the 1000 Mile has a much sleeker and fashionable look. These boots do run a bit large. For most sizing a full size down should do, but I ended up sizing 1.5 sizes down. The fit was almost too small, but the leather did stretch over time and I now have a perfect fit. I would recommend trying to find a store that sells them to see how much you need to downsize. Overall this is a very solid boot with good construction and quality leather. Yes, you could find something more durable, but for everyday wear this will be a long lasting shoe with a timeless look.

Solid construction, Runs large

Add another voice to the reviews telling to order one full size down. I followed the previous reviewers' advice and mine fit perfectly. I wear 10.5 in Merrels and 10.5W in modern combat boots, and the 9.5D is spot on for me. The leather is thick enough to really feel the durability, but supple enough to require very little break in. The tight spots and discomfort I expect with any new pair of boots are conspicuously absent, even after a full 7 hours tightly laced on my first wear. As a disclaimer, this is the first pair of this type of classic leather-soled boot I have worn. The most I can say about them is that they feel very much like dad's 40 year old jump boots, which are likely the most broken-in pair of brogues I have ever seen. Very soon to tell, but I expect '1000 Miles' will prove to be an understatement.

Great Boot

Very comfortable, well made, felt broken in right out the box. They run kinda large, I wear a 11.5 sneaker, but I had to return the original pair and get a 9.5 To be sure about my correct size, I went to a store here in Philly, (Boyds) and tried the boot on. I was shocked to fine that I took a 9.5. Now my boots don't look like gunboats!! Just make sure you try your new boots on by walking a a carpet, just in case they are the wrong size. The soles { made of fine leather)markup VERY easily. Bought my first and second pair from Shoe Parlor ( Great people to buy from) Shipped next day both times. You will not be disappointed !!!

Not Worth The Money

Purchased in March of 2021. Need replacing July of 2021. These boots have been worn in an office setting. I am 5'6" and 170lbs. and for these boots to only last 5 months when they cost $150 is rediculous. I would not recommend purchasing these its not worth the money!

These boots look great! Unfortunately I also would like to wear them. However the heel of the left shoe arrived loose and promptly fell off when worn. As my wife bought these boots a few months before Christmas and gave them to me for Christmas, I had missed my return window. So now I've paid $300 for a worthless shoe (but it does look great!). I would implore any and all potential buyers to AVOID this seller as these boots seem to be factory seconds or something. The quality is terrible compared to boots I've tried on in retailers.

Ungleiche B-Ware

Wer sich denkt, dass er grade ein Schnäppchen gefunden hat, sollte wissen, dass es sich hier um B-Ware mit (mal weniger) kleinen Bearbeitungsfehlern handelt und die Rückgabe aufgrund von Importgebühren nicht kostenlos abläuft. Dazu kommt, dass die Ledersohle nach den ersten 5 Minuten auf dem Asphalt nicht mehr neu aussieht, was die Rückgabe nochmal erschwert. In anderen Rezessionen wurde schon beschrieben, dass die Stiefel Ungleichheiten aufweisen. Bei mir war der linke Schuh am Spann deutlich enger, dafür hatte die Ferse am rechten fuß deutlich mehr Spiel als am Linken. Auch nach ein paar Tagen zum Einlaufen, wurde es nicht wirklich besser. Erst nachdem die Stiefel für 50€ bei einem Schuster geweitet wurden, war es merkbar besser. Dort wurde mir auch nochmal bestätigt, dass es nicht an "ungleichen Füßen" liegt, wie der Kundenservice in diesen Fällen gerne schreibt, sondern dass der linke Stiefel tatsächlich fast einen Centimeter enger ist als der rechte. Mit den Kosten für den Schuster bin ich zwar immer noch unter dem Originalpreis, trotzdem sollte in der Produktbeschreibung stehen, dass es sich hier um Mangelware handelt.
