Nice shoes
They fit as expected when heeding warnings from previous reviews. Ordered 1 size down. I have wide feet and was able to stretch the leather to fit. It does get scuffed but its a shoe. Very comfortable. No break in needed unless you have wide feet.

Classic, simple, and elegant looking boots
I spent *months* searching for a boot that would meet my specific criteria: 1. Love the look, 2. Boots I could wear on a daily basis, and 3. Boots that would be suitable for a business or business-casual attire, yet wouldn't look out of place in a casual setting. These boots have met all of those, though I am going to avoid wearing them in wet/snow conditions as much as possible. First, the aesthetics: these boots look awesome, and the look as though they will last (at the writing of this, I've had them for a few weeks). The outer sole is one that can be repaired when necessary, so I'm hoping that won't cost to much at a local cobbler. I added a coat of mink oil (Kiwi brand), and that seems to be a good enough solution if I apply it 2-4 times per year (should probably be more often from what I've read, but I'm a bit lazy). I imagine these boots might lose some of their luster when/if they get scuffed up a bit, but I think that will only add more character and charm to them. The best thing about the leather on these boots is the smell- I've been literally inhaling the inside of these boots so much, my girlfriend is starting to wonder about me. One whiff of the insides of these boots, and you'll feel transported to the times when cobblers made all the shoes. If you've ever been to a historically themed park (i.e. early settlers park), then you can imagine the scent. Second, while these boots will probably wear a bit faster than others with mostly Vibram outsoles, the ability to re-sole them I'm hoping will pay off in the long run. The heels are Vibram rubber, but the rest of the boot is pretty much all leather, so I'm not sure how it will hold up. So far, it seems to be fine, as I've been avoiding heavy rain days and/or snow. I hear the traction is terrible in icy conditions, so hopefully that doesn't bite me in the ass, but otherwise I think they'll be fine for heavy use. I have been wearing these boots to work and around town (I walk a lot), and so far I'm very happy with them. They fit snug, but one bit of advice is to not wear these (or ANY other boots) without deciding if you're going to add insoles to them (many of these boots do not come with insoles, so much less cushion than typical throw-aways). I had to buy over a 1/2 dozen pairs and try different insoles in them to find a combination that would fit properly and not give me blisters. I have to wear fairly thin foam insoles with these boots, otherwise cushier insoles with thick heels either allow my heel to move up and down too much (and therefore, can cause blisters), or the reduced space causes discomfort along where the eyelets/hooks align. The only concerns I have about these boots is how the leather will hold up (the outsoles, specifically) over time, and also the first time I tried to lace them up, I accidentally pulled one of the hooks at an odd angle, which bent it a bit. I bent it back down, but now I'm extra cautious when lacing them up to not pull it outward. Everything else about these boots I just love. As far as fit goes, I've measured my foot and it's a 12 1/2, so the 12s fit me just fine. 13s would be too large, I believe, and anything smaller and I wouldn't have any room for insoles. They fit perfectly without insoles, but my feet have been beaten up and even a small amount of cushion will help, even if the fit changes slightly (mildly discomforting if tied up tightly). Hope this review helps! P.S. I also bought and tried Chippewas, Red Wings, and various other boots before settling on these. Red Wings and Chippewas both seem like awesome boots, but the Chippewas I bought caused massive blisters and the Red Wings I bought (Beckmans and Iron Rangers) either were problematic in terms of fit, or just didn't look as good (to me) aesthetically.

Great boots, outstanding quality, consider sizing down 1/2 size
I have been looking for a pair of high quality boot, made in the U.S. or Europe, for months. Based on the style I was interested in, I had narrowed down my search to Wolverine 1000 Miles or Redwing Heritage. I opted for the Wolverines because I thought they looked slightly less like work boots (but don't get me wrong, Redwing makes a fine product too). Even buying as an open box Amazon Warehouse deal, the boots were the most expensive pair of shoes I've ever bought. They're worth every penny. The craftsmanship is incredible. I wear I size 12 in most shoes and when I buy a different size I generally size up to 13 v. down. Based on reviews, I went with an 11.5. I'm glad I did because the length is absolutely perfect and a 12 would have been too large. The toe box was a little tight on my pinky toes, but this was expected and nothing a $10 trip to the cobbler couldn't fix. When I went to pick them up, my cobbler told me that, earlier in the day, someone saw them on the counter and offered him $300 cash for them (alas, my cobbler told him, they weren't for sale). He also told me that, with proper care and diligent resoling, they'll last for years, which is exactly why I purchased them. Do yourself a favor, spend the money. The alternative is spending less now on a pair of boots you're probably going to throw away (and replace until you've spent as much as you would have on a well-made pair of long lasting boots).

True Quality Control is gone. Folks just keep sending sub-par products.
I am so sick and tired of poor quality control from almost everywhere you buy things. What happened to quality? What happened to giving a damn about what you're selling or sending customers? Can i once order a product and for it to be in just ok condition? Doesn't have to be perfect. That's all im asking, is an ok condition. So the insoles of the boots have these dried up stains all over the wolverine logo. Like someone spilled something and it dried up that way. I wiped it off, but what was that? Some dried up fluids from a previous return? Also, there is an odd white stain and white markings there as well. I don't know what that is or what it could be. I get it, these are all hand made so things like off center stitching and glue marks are expected. Imperfections in a hand made boot is totally fine, like leather variations and some scuffs, cuts, glue stains, and things. I am totally fine with all of this. But the worst thing for me is...the toe box. The toe box looks like a cap toe variant of this 1000 mile boot. I ordered the original brown 1000 mile boot with the leather sole. And im not saying that a cap toe version was delivered, no. What im saying is that the structure of the toe cap is such that the leather seemed too tight there on the outside of the toe box, thus, allowing for the inner toe cup to be protruding. And this leaves an embossed imprint of a cap toe. Makes these look like Red Wing Iron Ranger toe box. So odd. I've went around many different stores trying on various colors and sizes and never seen this before. Unless i am bugging and this is the way the toe box is supposed to look. But I've seen a good handful of YouTube reviews, and saw them in hand in stores a dozen times. Another return for me. And this is a beautiful looking boot so i am extremely disappointed. I mean before you send out the product...just give it a once over. 1 minute of your time. And then ask yourself, will the customer accept this. 9 out of 10 times the answer is, no. So money is wasted on all these unnecessary shipping costs.

Ungleiche B-Ware
