Outstanding boots in need of a sole rethink
These boots are great. Fantastic quality leather and exceptionally well made. The downside is the smooth leather sole, reminiscent of high-end dress shoes. The first thing I did when the arrived was had them resoled with the Vibram sole that Red Wing uses on its Blacksmith boots. So while I can’t comment on the quality of the Red Wings, I can say that the 1000 Mile Boots are excellent, and they really do need to be resoled if you buy them. That was an extra $125 and 4 weeks wait time. It worked for me because I found my size on Amazon for a great price. But I would not recommend paying the 400 USD full price with the soles they ship with.

Great Boots
This is not my first pair of 1000 mile Wolverines. They are a very well made boot and the leather used for the uppers is fantastic quality Chromexcel from Chicago based Horween leather. I've never found leather that wears better over time. The boots run a 1/2 size larger than you'd wear for gym shoes. Very satisfied.

Arrived one day early. Some quality control issues.
I wear a size 10 4E in sneakers. I ordered a size 10.5 D. They fit me perfect with my wide foot. After one day at work I can feel and see the difference. The break-in will be fast. They are Horween CXL leather in Cordovan No. 8 color. The toe box fits well with enough room to wiggle my toes. I have not experienced heel slip. The color is beautiful. There are some quality-control issues. There is small uncut leather where the sole meets the heel. For the price I expected better quality control. These are over $320 boots ????. Overall I am satisfied. They are my first pair of Wolverine 1000 mile boots.

Like it but not love it.
Awesome pair of boots... that is after a lot of research and money put into it. I would give this pair of boots 3.5 stars if I could. This is a great pair of boots for the office or going out with friends or whoever, but not if you're doing outdoor activities or when it rains. The boots have a really nice color, it fits well, it's really comfortable, and you don't need to break them in. The only things I don't like about it are: the price, the sole, the buckles, and the water resistance. For the price, I would expect it to be able to hold up to any type of activity. The soles are leather so it will get scratched up and heavily damaged right when you walk onto pavement. I had to spend another $30 to go to my cobbler to get a 2mm Vibram half sole put on to protect the soles. A lot of people have complained that after 6 months of use, the boot's soles are almost gone. The buckles will scratch up the lip of the boots when you tie your boots and walk around in them. I also walked around in them yesterday when it happened to drizzle outside and I noticed that if I leave the water drops on my boots, the leather does absorb the water after a while. I already put on a couple of coats of Venetian shoe cream to protect it, but that doesn't seem to be enough. People have also noted that they have slight trouble waterproofing their boots. Overall, I would say it's awesome pair of boots if you don't mind spending the money and extra money to care for them.

The boots are really high quality. I took advice from other posts and ordered half a size down, which was perfect. I haven't broken them in yet but wanted to address any concerns that these boots are fake (as I feared due to other buyers' posts); they're not. I bought them from an Amazon-backed seller (JumpInStyle). As you will see from the pics, the boots were slightly different, however. The main difference between the pair was on the leather outsoles, and there was also a slight imperfection (indentations) on the side of one of the boot's toe area. Given that I was able to combine credit card points with seller's low price to purchase at around $190 total after tax (over $180 less than from Wolverine or authorized seller), I was more than willing to overlook the difference in the outsole and imperfection on one of the boots. That's the only reason I rate the product at four stars instead of 5. After reading that the main drawback to these boots is that the leather outsole can wear away quickly, I took them to my local cobbler for some very thin (1/16 inch) Vibram half soles for $25 total. I really liked the results because the thin half soles should protect the leather outsole while not bulking them up and taking away from the sleek profile. Since I really like the boots and hope they hold up after regular wear, I plan to update this review after six months.

I have wide feet!
I've worn these for a little over a week now. I've worn them to work where I am on my feet on hard tile for 8 hours or more. The first few days were a bit hard on my feet since I am used to shoes that have more cushion in them. I'm a big guy so I put a lot of force on my feet. The pain only lasted a couple days and I did give my feet some rest and now I am very comfortable in the shoes. On sizing, I have wide feet. I got the 10.5 EEE and they were tight the first time, almost too tight, but the leather stretches and it's not a problem, however the shoes are longer than I expected, my big toes are at least 1.5 inches away from where toe of the shoe is, I could have sized down, but considering my feet run wide and these wide shoes had to be broken in, I was afraid to size down. They don't curl up at the toe ridiculously so I am not worried, just makes my feet look longer which is nice when you have wide feet like me. The bottoms are flat and I think I will add a textured half sole and heel to the shoes to make them safer at work. These are by far the nicest shoes I have ever had. I feel like I can where them forever and plan to keep wearing them after many resolings.

Good quality, runs a little big
The heel cup is a little large but the width at the ball of the foot and overall length is just right. The ad says Vibram soles, but just the heel is a rubber sole, the foot bed itself is leather.

Great looking boots
Ordered black boots and they sent me brown. That said, they fit perfectly and look great. Break in not bad. Random people at work compliment me on these boots! That has never happened! You can wear them for hours and they remain comfortable. One word of caution: they tend to be quite slippery on some surfaces. They are not meant for hard “work”.
