Good Vise Design, Terrible Threading Job
The Good: The vise is well designed and its castings are good. The rotary locking mechanism is secure and of good design. The Expected: Every part of the vise was full of iron filings and all moving parts had to be cleaned and greased. The worst were in the threaded holes for the jaw screws, they need to be cleaned at a minimum but running a tap through would be even better. Lead screw was straight enough but I had to sand and file the burrs off for good action. I had to do some filing to fully align the jaws but given the slop in the lead screw that felt more obsessive than necessary. The Bad: There was no oil behind the pipe jaws and the threads were full of iron filings. If it had ever gotten damp even for a second it would have had to be drilled out. I had to use an impact driver to remove the ones on the pipe jaws. They had been tightened with a power tool and were crooked. They are M6- 1.0 bolts and you will want to replace the Phillips heads with hex asap.

Needs tuning out of the box, only then is it a nice solid vise.
Let's talk about this vise. I purchased this on an Amazon Warehouse deal for about $20 less. Vise arrived in good order nothing bent or scratched just the product box was ripped to shreds the shipping box was fine. About that tuning, the jaws were misaligned vertically and horizontally so there wasn't a flush fit left to right nor top to bottom. This was fixed by some careful file work and a small copper shim ( thin wire from a motor winding i had ) allowing for the jaws to come together flush and even. I'd guess they were off by about 1/2 mm left to right and probably close to 2.5 mm from top of jaw to bottom causing a pinch point. The swivel base came well lubed and adjusted smoothly and lock down is positive and secure, well done. You'll need to pull the spindle and smooth the casting where the spindle frame rides on the vise frame, this is rough casting on rough casting and a quick clean up and some grease really helps. The spindle on my unit was for all intents dry of lubrication perhaps a light coat of something like three in one oil, you'll want to grease that too. It comes rough, minimal lubrication and out of alignment. It'll take you about an hour of relatively minor tuning and this thing will work smoothly and accurately. What you're not paying for up front is the hand finishing... you can do a lot of it yourself and end up with a nice solid vise.

Well built, sturdy and dependable
I've owned this vise for a few years now and love it. I don't abuse it, but put it through the paces and it has held up remarkably well, with zero issues. It needed a little dressing when I got it, but the alignment was quite good even so. The lockdowns are tight and hold securely, as do the jaws. I wish they would have used hex bolts instead of phillips to hold the jaws, but that is easily remedied. Overall, bang for buck, one of the best vises I've owned.

Good Affordable Vise
I've used a lot of this exact style vise at work. For the money they are hard to beat even if you destroy them in several years. We have used one in an outdoor welding shop onboard an oil rig for over a year now and it gets used and abused every day. I doesn't look pretty and might be a little sloppy, but it still holds things tight. We have another one inside an engineering workshop and it is holding up very well. Gets used daily for hard projects! Now I'm sure you can get a bad one now and then, but for me, the abuse I've seen offshore makes it plenty good for my shop at home. I bought this one for the house, showed up in 4 days in a nice box from the MFG without a scratch or dent. Don't think about it...just buy it.

A beautiful beast for my work bench
Very well built and very heavy in a good way. Such a beast! I like that the unit is enclosed and protect from dust. The hardware was hard to find I wanted to be installed properly as it will be there for years. Props to broward bolt for hooking me up with the hardware. 5/8 in grade 8 bolts. Use smaller washers on top and regular washer with lock washer on bottom. A great addition to your work bench. Buy something good as it will last for years

Nice vise. Slight damage upon delivery.
Packaging was pretty beat up upon delivery and the handle had a slight bend in it. Not enough to impede functioning but a bend none the less. I would have expected it to come in “new” condition. Other than that it is a super nice vise.

This thing ain't going anywhere.
First impressions: 1. Wow, I can't believe they shipped this thing for free. 2. This thing rules. You're going to need your own mounting hardware, which will vary depending on the depth of your bench. I'm using 4 inch bolts, 1/2 inch in width, and the corresponding nuts to keep it secure. The jaws are wide, and the throat is deep. The pipe jaws seem hearty, and the whole thing feels solid. The swivel action (when switching from anvil to vise) especially feels very smooth. The main screw that tightens the jaws also feels substantial. I don't know a heaping ton about vises, I'll admit, but this will almost certainly be the last vise I buy.

Very well made
I considered many different options when exploring a new vise for my workshop. Everything from the cheapo HF options to the high end Wilton models. In the end, and not wanting to spend several hundred dollars, this Wilton 21400 #745, 5 inch vise seemed to be a good compromise between high end and the really cheap foreign made versions. Even HD and Lowe's did not have a model that was acceptable to me. This model was nice since it has replaceable jaws and the mechanism is self lubricated and enclosed. I would recommend this vise as a good option. One last comment is that the vise looks a little different and much nicer than the grey picture as shown here. It's actually a light blue/grey color with the Wilton emblem on the side.
