Does the job at a great price.
Weighs much less than the one it replaced at a much lower price. I see no reason to spend more unless you are a pro who uses it close to daily. I have other WEN tools and am very pleased with them. These tools are good for the hobby worker or someone who does not use the tools every day. I make items for street shows and make a lot of trays, cutting boards, and other misc. wood products for sale and gifts.

Seems to have plenty of power...
Feels like lots of power in reserve to me. Belts track nicely. There is NO dust collection. Appropriate PPE is probably a good idea. Dust mask, coveralls etc. This is my first belt sander in a long time, and I'm having problems getting this sander to sit flat on the work piece and have an evenly distributed contact patch. Could be me, could be the machine, could be a learning curve. For the price, I would definitely consider this tool, but this is not a high-end tool, just a good tool for the money.

This was a great find
I bought this a while ago and never got around to reviewing it. So after using it for a long time, I'll say that it was a great investment, It is great for cleaning off tough finishes and paint from old wood. They controls and adjustments are simple and intuitive. Keep in mind that a belt sander is not a finishing sander. If you are careless with it, like any belt sander, it will rip right into your wood. That's not a negative - it's a caution. Any decent belt sander will do this.

Great sander for any price
Been using this about 6 months now and I use it daily. The last 2 I had were craftsman and this one has lasted longer then either of them already and its cheaper. You would think you could repair the craftsman sanders which is how it used to be. but not any more. You cant even get parts for the ones in the store. Save your money and buy one of these. There is no benifit to buying the more expensive ones at the stores. The only bad thing is the dust bag. It had a hole in it pretty quick, but after buying a replacement bag it's still cheaper then the craftsmans and it's way more durable so far. I'll definitely buy another when this one quits!

Handles well and not bad for the price point
This is about 15 minutes of sanding. Stain wasn’t quit the color I wanted and was regretting having to live with it and/or use my circular sander and take forever. Was impressed on how bell it handled for 15 minutes.

Price for quality
I have only used it one time so far. It got broken in well on it's first use and preformed just like it's supposed to. I have a few more of there products and for the price you can't beat it. I have never had a problem with any of them and I will absolutely purchase more of there products. Drill press and band saw will probably be next

The Door Project
Previous owners left layers and layers of paint remaining on the doors. In a perfect world we would replace them but this tool makes it fun to do the project yourself. Great for DIYers. Nice firm grip and power to level the "painting" field.

Dust blows to your face!!!
Not sure how this sander got so many good reviews. I guess mostly from the people who never used the belt sander before so can't compare to other brands. I own a woodworking shop and bought this as a backup but have to return for a few reasons. 1. Dust blows right to your 'face'!! I'm not talking about the dust port. It blows from the motor. I had to wear a full face shield otherwise couldn't open my eyes. 2. It's not heavy enough for belt sander so it's just drifting on the surface. To take off the materials, I have to keep pressure on top but that still doesn't help much. This is a BIG deal as the main reason using the belt sander is to take off the materials fast and aggressively. Other brands have some weight which gives enough grip without having to put too much pressure on it. 3. The dust bag is located too closely to the handle so it's squeezing the thumb pretty tight and also electric static builds up and discharges the shocks! Hope this helps for the potential buyers.

It electrocuted me
After using this sander for maybe 2 hours of total usage I got shocked from where the trigger meets the handle. At first I thought it was something like the glove I was wearing got pinched inside the handle somehow but about a minute later I got shocked again in the same place. About the force of touching an electric fence, not pleasant but not deadly either. Anyways, that's obviously not a good thing and I'll be returning this and getting a different brand. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because when I wasn't getting electrocuted it actually worked pretty good, dust collection was decent and it had a nice even sanding area.

Broke after heavy use
I used this sander in my shop occasionally and I loved it. It was great for stripping rough boards. BUT I was probably a little too rough on this sander while sanding my 25' x 16' deck. About 1/2 way into sanding my deck (about 1.5 hours) the sander started smoking up a bit. About 15 minutes later total failure. For the price it is a good unit - depending on what your needs are; however, the unit is entirely comprised of plastic. It will overheat if you are doing anything vigorous. But you can't beat the price. I bought a MasterCraft sander to finish the deck and it lasted about 45 minutes (same thing happened as this Wen). Luckily I took it back (in the same day) and got a new one to FINALLY finish sanding my deck. And I will be honest, the 3rd sander on this deck started to overheat and smoke up on my last board. The morale of the story is, save your $$$ for composite decking. And this is a good unit - but you get what you pay for.

Excellent Belt Sander
I bought this belt sander because I needed to strip the paint from my front deck prior to repainting. This is an excellent little unit and served my purposes well. I pressure washed the deck to make sure it was free of any debris. I found that putting on and taking off belts was straightforward and very easy. I did get a jam one time when a belt broke, but that was because I hit the top of a screw and it tore the belt. I used 40 and 80 grit sanding belts depending on what I was stripping. I have enclosed a picture before I started a section of the deck and then a picture after about half an hour. The sander did a very good job. There is only one speed, so no variable speed sanding. For the price this is a fantastic little belt sander. I would highly recommend it for jobs around the house.

Awesome
Works amazing!!! Easy to use, just one issue, it seems to be built for left handed folks as if you stand on the side with your right hand over the trigger, it blows the sawdust it misses right into your face, but that’s not a complaint on the bag, that thing collects a ton of sawdust. Overall, I like this product and would buy it again
