Excellent product
I've been using this product for over 6 months and have had great success with it when comparing it to other traps like the classic wood version, or the black plastic ones that say "instant kill" on them. I can tell you that these really are easy to bait, setup, and clean when needed. With the main body being plastic and the kill bar being metal, death is near instant when the trap is set. Out of the 30+ rats I have caught, 0 have suffered in any way once the trap was sprung. The only con I have with this trap is after dozens of uses, the catch in the rear seems to have come loose to the point it can be difficult to set or hold the trigger mechanism. However, this has only happened on one of the six traps I have bought, so it may just be a faulty trap. Regardless, out of all the traps I have seen, this one has been the best for my purposes. Side note: If you are having trouble catching pests in your home, barn, shed, garage, etc I would suggest using peanut butter and sunflowers as bait. Additionally, look for high-traffic areas, a noticeable increase in droppings, or holes where they may travel from. Set your traps up in these locations, preferably near a wall, or setup barriers around them to funnel the intruders to the bait and you should have better success. Good luck.

Works, but be forewarned
Well the rat was able to smatch the food from the first trap without setting it off. The second time it did kill one, not immediately, however. I had to hear the rat fighting for its life for several minutes, while also splattering blood all over my kitchen. Pretty gruesome thing to have to clean up. Effective? Yes. Humane? Not sure about that one. I won't make yall look at a photo of that.

Love it!
I recently started seeing a lot of digging/holes in my vegetable garden planter and realized it's probably rodent(s). I baited one trap with peanut butter and set it outside at night. Within 30 minutes, the trap triggered and I saw a rat was standing besides it completely unharmed. I reset the trap and place an additional trap outside and left it overnight. When I came out in the morning, both traps each caught/killed a huge rat! It was satisfying but also really gross. I love that it was really easy to release the trap and discard the rats. I used a broom handle to lift the trap and dead rat into a garbage bag and then lifted the bar to release the rat.

Deadly
These are the best snap traps I've used. Rarely miss, and always a clean kill. Best of all, the design of the kill bar combined with the hard plastic base makes it much easier to clean than the wooden base style that are just as effective. Holes in the base make it easy to screw down, although none of the twenty-ish rats they've dispatched have been able to make any attempt to run after being hit. The only rat that wasn't firmly held in place was one that had been brained and was laying dead next to it. When these eventually break, I'll get more.

Simply the best rat trap
Tried several other traps to get rid of rats and they ended up being triggered but no rat. These bad boys do the job, permanently! Ten rats removed from problem area. Just add a little peanut butter, set and wait. If PB gets rancid, throw away and buy new ones. Rats won’t go for the spoiled PB.

Strong and has teeth
I have yet to catch a rat in any but this I do know, if you attach it to a 2x6 piece of wood the rat is not going to get away. The trap springs and you've got it, strong springs and teeth to assure a catch. Also, the trigger seems easy to set off so don't get your finger in the way.

Nice updated mouse/rat trap
This rat trap is easy to use and will catch better that the old wood ones. The bait center with full platform makes it more effective. The metal arm also goes into the plastic groove on the edges so that it can't wiggle out as easily. Wanted the trap pictured with the jagged teeth, but was sent the plain smooth edge trap that is a different design. Jagged teeth will dig in and not allow it to get away.

Highly recommended quick kill - Caught within 15 minutes of setting the traps
After waking to a kitchen full of rat droppings and devastation it was pretty clear we had taken on a beast of a rat. First course of action was to try the humane trap route. It only seemed to scoff the bait leading to the trap, leaving the contents inside the trap untouched. I decided to set up a camera to try and identify how big this beast actually was. After a night of surveillance it finally appeared, smack bang in the middle of the kitchen floor, completely ignoring the humane traps. Me and the pregnant wife decided it was time to step up the removal measures as it had kept us awake knawing the house structure the previous night. I initially thought glue boards would be the besst solution to our unwanted visitor, but having reviewed several videos it shows that the creatures caught in the glue boards are in so much distress and die a slow death over several hours. This is when I stumbled across the Victor traps. The traps claim to be a quick kill solution and potentially the least painful of the kill-type traps. After receiving the amazon package I set up all 6 with some peanut butter in the bait trough. 4 in the route I know the rat used and 2 in a hidden darker location. After 15 minutes we heard a snap and a loud screech, which lasted about 3 seconds. I checked the camera and straight away saw the limp lifeless body of the fallen solider. These traps are clearly extremely effective even on larger rats, although I feel as though the rat was in quite severe pain for a small amount it time. It looks as though the bar snaped on it's neck and didn't break it instantly potentially strangling the rat until it's final breath. Overall I would highly recommend the Power-Kill traps as a highly effective way of removing a rougue rat from your home.

Highly recommended.
If you have a problem with rats, then look no further than this product in my opinion. I'd had problems with rats in the shed in my yard for a while, seeing them occasionally, but noticing the awful mess and smell they've left behind in the shed.. droppings everywhere. As a result I've had to dispose of most of the stuff in my shed. However, I bought 2 of these traps, baited them with smoked bacon and left them in the shed. Within 24 hours both traps had worked successfully. I should mention that these traps are 'humane' in the sense that the mechanisms are strong enough to kill the rats immediately; both traps were found exactly where I'd placed them. However, I might add that when deploying these traps, you take into account pets, kids etc.. I've refrained from leaving any of these traps in the open yard area for the fear that wandering cats may have a sniff. I suspect the sheer strength of the spring (believe me!) may harm a nosey cat or 2. However, with this in mind, the product is spot on. Highly recommended.

Deadly
I suspected that rats from another location were entering our garden from a hole in the fence. I prepared the trap as advised by Victor web site by using peanut butter. Within three days it dispatched 6 of the little blighters, it must have been the total nest quantity as none have reappeared. It is safe and easy to set without the fear of getting your fingers broken using the old fashioned traps. The rats are easily disposed of without having to touch the dirty creature.

A dead one is considerably better than a live one
I received this around 15:00 today, put some peanut butter in it, and placed it in the loft around 16:00. 30 minutes ago (19:45) I am the proud owner of one dead rat. A dead one is considerably better than a live one, in my humble opinion. This thing absolutely slams shut from what I heard, and while it did not trap the rat, it hit it with enough force to kill it. The dead rat was only a few inches from the trap. So make sure you have a good look around if your trap has triggered, as your rodent friend may be lurking, albeit dead, nearby.
