Low cost, lightweight water hose? Why not! :)
My search for an inexpensive, lightweight "watering" hose found this. Yes, I know this is an air hose, but I figure if it can withstand the air pressure + the oil & water that a compressor pushes thru these hoses, what's a little water at 80 psi? The pros: + Low cost of $9.99 with Amazon free shipping. I see this hose is going for $8.99 now, an even a better deal! + Pretty flexible. + Nice blue color. + The brass 1/4" NPT male fittings look to be solidly crimped on. + Advertised - Reinforced PVC hose. + Advertised - Oil & abrasion resistant. + Advertised - 3/8" x 25' long. + Advertised - Working pressure of 200 PSI. ◄ The hose I received is labeled 300 PSI working pressure. + Advertised - Brass 1/4" NPT male fitting at each end. + Advertised - One year warranty. The cons: - No fittings included, other than what's crimped on, you have to provide your own. - Made in China. ◄ Not entirely a bad thing, but some may prefer made in USA. Closing remarks: ▪ With the correct fittings, this low cost air hose can be used as a light weight watering hose. :) ▪ This air hose construction is reinforced PVC with brass 1/4" NPT male fittings, so nothing to rust. ▪ Odds are good the brass fitting on this hose are NOT lead free, so the water passing thru this lightweight water hose should not be used for potable water. ► Update - May 19, 2016 ▪ I used this lightweight water hose today & I have to say it exceeded my expectations! It was noticeably lighter, but the water flow appeared to be as it was when I was using a standard 1/2" garden hose. :) ▪ The plan now is to make another lightweight watering hose in a 50' length. The holdup is the cost of the 2 brass fittings, which have doubled in price! :( ► Update - June 23, 2016 ▪ I just made another "lightweight" watering hose using a 50' hose this time. I really like the watering hose I previously made with a 25' hose & I've been waiting for the 1/4" NPT female to 3/4" GHT (garden hose thread) to drop back to a reasonable price. They did & now I have a 50' "lightweight" watering hose for my backyard raised bed garden! ▪ The water flow is slightly less, but not an issue for my use. The reduced weight of the hose is VERY noticeable, as is the maneuverability of the smaller diameter hose! ► Update - June 8, 2018 ▪ I decided to buy another 25' hose, again to be used as a water hose. This hose was slightly different then the previous hoses I bought. It's much softer & very flexible. Even better, this one cost $7.99 with free Amazon shipping! The attached pictures show my finished lightweight watering hose. I used two 1/4" NPT female to 3/4" GHT (garden hose thread) male brass fittings & added quick connect hose fittings. The black heat shrink tubing is used to cover the brass & to provide a bit more hose to fitting strain relief... plus it looks better! :)

Durable, reliable hose. Rigid as a steel pipe when cold.
It has served well. If I know I need to use it in cold conditions take some planning ahead.

Best Choice, 186 Year Old Company, American Great Product
It was perfect in every way. I knew the name and the price is fair for this 50 foot model. I hated the loud pancake air compressor sitting on the top of one of those multi level plastic shelving units in the garage. It was loud and I had to stand on my tip toes to reach the on/off switch. It was time, time to do something about this and I had an idea in mind for many months. I mounted this reel using three Tapcon screws I had in a parts bin. The unit came with three galvanized screws but without anchors. I tossed the pack into my parts bin for some other project. I then mounted an electrical box on the wall with a toggle switch and accessory double socket and running the Romex wiring up into the attic to another electrical box and wired a double receptacle to that. In the middle of the wiring I mounted a third electrical box to connect a wire with a plug that I can plug and unplug from an outlet nearby. Once I had everything connected and air compressor up in the attic and all set up, I was able to make a test with a flip of the switch after plugging in the power plug to the nearby socket. It all works perfectly as planned. I can barely hear the compressor running up overhead in the attic.

Everything ya need, nothing ya don’t.
Old C&H diaphragm compressor has been through 3 hose sets over the years. Still going strong. Bought a Plews air chuck this time so it bleeds off pressure when not in use. That can save you from a hose repair when you are putting air in all your tires.

Lightweight, Lots of Hose
A great tool so far, Have this mounted against the wall and have been using it constantly for quite some time. Only con I can say so far is that the hose winds to one side, the left or right, and gets stuck about halfway, so to fix that you have to pull all the hose out and wind it like a normal winch.

Sin utilizar
La marca es sinónimo calidad, he utilizado otros productos de Campbell sin queja alguna, cumplen definitivamente. En éste caso llegaron tarde y terminé comprando algo similar el Home Depot. Devolví el producto sin utilizar. Repito, la marca es sinónimo de calidad. Si tuviera la necesidad, sin duda lo adquiriria.

no esperes algo wow!!! sirve si. cumple funcion todas las piezas si. pero son corrientitas pero funcionan, asi que no me puedo quejar y es lo que queria... pues mi uso es solo para tenerlo con mi compresor. no para taller o uso medio menos rudo

Hose split first use. I paid the same amount for a 50ft from Canadian tire, on sale, and it’s doing just fine 2 years later. Just wanted a shorter hose, and I misread, I only bought cause I thought it was rubber. They wanted 10$ to return it so I figured I’d give it a shot.. Got a brake job out of it! Will never buy again

Mon utilisation se résume à gonfler les pneus des voitures et de nos vélos, et à nettoyer le filtre à air de la tondeuse à gazon Honda après chaque utilisation. L'équipement fait très bien son travail. Le tuyau est souple, et les accessoires sont d'une qualité tout à fait acceptables compte tenu du prix demandé.
