First Time Using This Type Crimper
It is easier to use, once you get used to it. Did a pull test and it does crimp better than the old style. Seems to be a good tool for the money.

Release is hard to access
It's a great tool and I got it at a discounted price. The only serious design flaw I can say is the release mechanism is impossible to get to with a finger so keep a flat tip screwdriver on hand if needed. The area around the release should be cutout in the design to make it easy to release it if needed when crimping. I guess whoever designed this never picked it up and actually tried to use it.????‍♂️

I LIKE IT
I actually bought this for work for the industrial size dryers I work on. The dryers has an ignition system to light the propane burners that create the heat. The igniter is the same as a car spark plug wire. The difference with the dryer igniter wire is that it has the spark plug connector on one end and on the other end it has a non-insulated female spade connector. The spark plug connector goes to the igniter box and the female spade connector goes on the igniter and this one crimper does both duties with out the need of a different crimper or crimp die. Thanks you saved me $$$.

not recommended for heat shrink connectors
The package has the statement "not recommended for heat shrink connectors" (TITAN 11477 Ratcheting Wire Terminal Crimper Tool for Insulated Terminals, Fixed Jaw Crimper). I tried it on heat shrink connectors (blue) in the blue slot as well as in the red slot, and both seemed to work fine without any problem. My test on red connector yielded weak spots in the insulation layer around the edges. Another version of the crimper with heat shrink friendly die is also available on amazon.

Up there with Klein quality
This isn't my first Titan crimper, years ago I got the one that just does non heat shrink and those have worked amazingly. At my new job I've gotten a chance to use their Klein crimper as well as their Wirefly variety set. I've been trmoed for awhile to go the Wirefly route but I'm so glad I got the opportunity to test them at work as I've been severely disappointed in their performance and had several crimped terminals pull out. Wirefly seems to just do a single crimp while the Klein does a double. At work I will walk over to the other side of the warehouse just for these. Klein though doesn't offer the variety crimpers like Wirefly which is why I decided to go with Titan. Knowing how pleased I've been with my original Titan ones I decided to bite the bullet and get the Titan variety. Every crimp of mine holds perfect with never an issue, now since I'm doing heat shrink and other style terminals I know this will work. These work as well as the Klein ones. I love going Klein when I get the chance but I am not disappointed one but with this purchase.

Works really well with higher quality COPPER wire connectors - steel connectors are hit and miss
I read many of the 1 and 2 star reviews AFTER I used this crimper on various electrical connectors. From my experience, the type and quality of connector you use makes a BIG difference. I have some low dollar steel import crimp on ends and they didn't crimp very well. Some of the yellow connectors would not crimp completely. I had to put the Titan crimper in a bench vise to get it to compress fully because I didn't have enough hand strength to compress the crimpers all the way. I'm a 6'1" / 220 pound weight lifter who can shrug 495 pounds on a bar - it's not a hand strength issue. Then I used the Titan crimper with Wirefy copper connectors available on Amazon. The Wirefy connectors are made of 100% copper with a 3:1 polyeolefin shrink tube integrated on the connector. The key here is the copper connector - it's softer than steel, compresses completely and far more easily than the cheap steel connectors. The Wirefy connectors are not cheap but they work great with the Titan crimpers. I could not get the cheap steel connectors to crimp with my old crimping tool - so it's not the tool, its the actual connector you are using. Pro: -Heavy duty, well made tool -Crimps copper connectors very solidly - I've used it on 12 - 18 gauge copper wire with no issues -The Red/Blue/Yellow designation on the crimper jaws is handy Con: -No release - if you put a heavy duty yellow steel connector in the Titan crimper, you'd better have a hand like Hellboy or a bench vise near by. -Not the best design for leverage - the handles are too close together and there is not enough mechanical advantage. I can understand why some folks mught be disappointed in this tool. But with large steel connectors or even smaller steel connectors you need a LOT of force to compress them - almost pneumatic or hydraulic. This is a $25 hand tool - understand the limitations and buy the proper connectors and you will give this tool a 4-5 star rating. If you don't, it explains the 1-2 star ratings.

So easy to use
Takes the guess work out of figuring how much force to apply to terminal ends. Color coded and simple to use.

Works as advertised - If you use cheap connectors it won't work
Basically when using good quality connectors this worked every time. It is hard to squeeze but event my daughter could do it with two hands. When using some connectors I bought online though I noticed that it would not hold the wire no matter how many times I tried to crimp it.

Excellent Product
Used the crimps and it delivered excellent results. The only issue was the connectors had to be loosely formed round the lead with pliers. With that done excellent result were achieved.

Great tool, missing heat shrink note
I really like this crimper. In the past I used the cheap single crimpers that you get with a kit. This one works a lot better. The best feature is the ability to hold the terminal in the tool because of the ratchet. This means you can insert the wire with one hand and crimp with the other. Why the 4 stars? The is a note on the back of the packaging that this crimper is not designed to use with terminals can come with heat shrink. So far it has not punctured any heat shrink. This is missing from the online description.

if you use wire terminals a lot just buy this
I used a 'normal' crimper for years and years and...... they suck. They are terrible and garbage. If you are even here looking at this thing you probably need this. At one point I got sick and tired of bad crimps and threw my old one across the garage narrowly avoiding the garbage can. Then I bought this, and my only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. This thing is solid. the crimps are perfect every time. You can click it down one click and it will hold the connector for you.. no goobering around trying to hold three things at once. Unbeatable. Get this now.

Really not impressed
I decided to buy a quality tool for doing a more professionnal job. I used to crimp my connectors with simple vice-grips so... i saw this as a major upgrade to ease my task. I though investing 35$ in a tool would guarantee its quality but, no. It is sturdy alright. But it's all what it is. It needs to be applied an excessive force to crimp (no choice to go all the way otherwise the tool won't release the connector.) And guess what ? Even after working that hard, my 12 gage wire inserted in the yellow (14-12) connector came out loose ! I was so disapointed to have waste my money on this. And the connectors are not in cause here because i bought extra quality ones. So not only it takes herculean force to operate this tool, it does not even do the job correctly. Don't buy. I'll continue using my vice-grips, work better that this.
