Works nearly as well as the OEM tool
I've used the $300 OEM tool numerous times. This cheaper alternative creates the same 2-point per side (4 sides) crimps, just like the OEM Deutsch crimp tool. The wires I crimped held firmly and were not possible to remove. I only have 2 issues... The crimping jaws in mine are slightly off-center when crimping, resulting in a slightly lopsided crimp. This doesn't affect anything that I can tell, but it's slightly annoying. Second issue is that once the ratcheting mechanism engages during a crimp, there is no way to disengage it; you have to follow through. I would buy this again, regardless of these two minor issues.

Good Amphenol AT / Deutsch Solid Terminal Crimper
Works great for solid Amphenol AT and Deutsch terminals. Size 16 (14-16 ga) pins and sockets both work fine. Simply strip the wire, slide on a pin or socket, insert into this crimper and squeeze the handles. There are 4 pins that crimp the terminal. Comes out securely crimped every time. It should be noted that this kind of crimper will not work with press formed / stamped terminals. For those you need an open barrel style crimper. Crimping solid terminals with this tool is much easier and faster than crimping the stamped terminals with an open barrel style crimper. The only downside is that the solid terminals cost more than the stamped terminals. For me, the extra time savings and ease of using this kind of crimper makes the extra cost of terminals worth it.

Crimps down to my very small wire just fine
Easier to use on heavy 16 ga. but did 20ga fine. Did pull test and it held. If want to work on heavier wire, will need to get different bigger set. The Warehouse had them half off so very happy.

Great value.
Easy to use and makes perfect crimps on the contacts it is designed for.

Decent Budget Crimper - After Modifications
Bought to crimp 20-style Deutsch solid pins 18-20awg. Crimper jaws are slightly misaligned but crimp well enough. Biggest problem was that the pins fell past the crimp jaws when inserted into the tool, even with the depth adjustment all the way up. Had to make a tiny paper spitball spacer and shove it into the depth adjustment barrel to get the pins to line up. Works okay now, just a hassle that you have to modify a brand new product to get it to work as advertised.

Great tool
I'm a amateur but these worked great for my application. Would have been nice to have instructions, these work with the Barel style deucth connectors, I like the DT series connectors, I have found many are going to the GM looking open connector even with the DT style connector but it's nice to have these for the barrel

Not for smaller wire sizes.
Barely acceptable crimp using 16 wire in a 16 Deutsch contact...would not even try a 20 awg. No way to adjust clamping force for wire size..have used the pro level ones and well this don't compare. Ok for non critical applications, home automotive etc.

Economy, but works
Obviously there are better made and higher priced crimpers for the "D" connectors - however as I've been using this tool I'm finding it works satisfactorily (give it a 10lb tug test & good each joint)

Wire size is different than what is described in seller add
Ordered these crimper specifically for the 12 and 14 gauge option because that is mostly used on the equipment I work on. Product description says 12-20 AWG even on the tool itself in the picture. I received the tool yesterday and it says 16-20 on the tool and it's the same part number as the one I ordered. Haven't actually used them yet, but will write another review once I use them

Good tool, however it’s 16-20 not 14.
It appears all of them have a size range of 16–20 gauge. So don’t order for the listed 14 ! The product seems good its self. I will update after a few weeks of use !

it is not for the wire size described .
Product description is wrong and misleading. This should be addressed by somebody responsible... i purchased it a couple months ago and just brought it out to use it on a planned project only to find out it doesn't work on 14 gauge.
