Well worth the $

Far superior to any MADE IN CHINA pliers. The weight, length, smoothness and sharpness are impeccably proportioned and precise. It's the 911 of pliers.

Smooth right out of the package. Excellent cutting capabilities

Very smooth lever action, larger opening in jaws great for thicker gauge wires. Easily handles 6-3 romex which is tough for standard lineman pliers. Flat edge for fish tape pulling is very convenient. Handles are slightly different than kliens more comfortable in my opinion.

The best

I'm a master electrician, and finally made the switch from Klein to Knipex. Only wish I had done it sooner. These have a similar feel to my Kleins, but generally better quality, and way better cutting power.

Better than kleins. Handles smaller profile not as bulky. Better grip in nose. Feel better in the hand.

I was worried about marketing hype, as I have bad elbows, wrists, etc... these are the real deal, will cut 10/2 Mx will almost no effort.

Best ever

Klien eat your heart out! I use lineman pliers for work. I can not tell you how many pair I have bought in the past 11 years working in chemical refineries. The cutters are the first thing to go. They get dull. Ive had a pair of knipex side cutters for 3 years now. Still cut like butter. Well worth the price.

An excellent tool by Knipex. so I will be saying keep your thieving hands off A LOT!

Solid tool. I'm not one to give out 4 stars often but this tool DOES IT! The details in construction, The minimal dipped grips and a long leverage arm allow for massive force. I appreciate the smaller diameter of the axis and can definitely feel the difference between this and the Kl3in linesman pliers. The closure is subtle and smooth with no raspy metal scraping as the jaw moves in closer. Previous comments regarding the pinch factor in the crimp end of the tool must have been holding these wrong as the ergonomic curves are well clear of the "pinch point". Added a picture with a AAA battery for scale.

Great Linesman Pliers, but easy to nick the blade.

I bought this plier as a replacement for what was my daily driver Klein 9 1/2" with the same features until that met an unfortunate fate by arc from 277v. Pros: - Works from the start, no break in period - Really sharp cutting blade makes short work of even #12 AWG/ 4 conductor BX cables. - Lightweight for a Linesman plier - Great build quality, expected no less from Knipex Cons: - Pricey, granted its cheaper than the Klein equivalent. -Blades nick really easily if you're cutting hardened screws like #8 or #10 wood screws (wouldn't reccomended using a Linesman for cutting screws in the first place, but the Kleins didn't have this issue). - Started to develop a negligible wobble after months of being used as a hammer, my Kleins still don't wobble after a few years of abuse and a #10AWG sized hole on it. -"Lifetime Warranty" is nigh on impossible to claim if your problems are not factory defects. Overall, good pliers, just dont use it to cut screws, and use reasonable force if being used as a hammer.

Great product but they are extremely stiff

Used them for almost 5 months now I guess and they are extremely stiff (tough to open and tough to close) used all oil products possible on it and also left it in a container full of oil for it to soak , seems like they don’t wanna fix them self Great product , will try again , maybe in a store so I can get a feel for it or something ?

It's a great gift idea for fathers!

I bought these for my father as a christmas present. While they still sit upstairs on my table in Amazon's packaging awaiting a Christmas morning unwrapping I figure I should review them now as I won't be able to submit a review 40 years in the future when he dies and I get all his tools. They feel nice in Amazon's very quality bubble mailer, and I definitly cannot bend them no matter how hard I never tried. The grips feel tight and firm from the outside of the bubble mailer. Though they are rather hard to use in the package and handeling in this way would likely prove difficult. I will update this review in 40 years when I need to use it for something.

knipex is the way to go!!

This is by far the best pair of linesman I have used. Loads of my coworkers started switching to Knipex and after trying a pair I was convinced and it’s by far my best tool in my arsenal. It has so many functions that get used a lot. They feel great and they’ve always remained nice and loose. Highly highly recommend.

Good pliers

My last pair lasted 4 years of daily use untill I blew them up on a live circuit. Would have lasted years longer. The large hole around the cutters makes it much easier to cut armoured cable than many other brands.
