Should be in every handyman’s toolbox .
This tool got me out of a jamb , you cannot cheat with any kind of screw clamp. I found out the hard way.

Well it great for the money but sucks cause you also need some other tool
You need either a pair of vice grips or channel locks or something of the like in order to make a crimp with these and it doesn't come with it in other words you also have to have your own in order to make a crimp also not as easy as they make it seem actually quite difficult and the thing they give you to check the crimp i think is quite useless cause i can't figure out how it's supposed to work but in short does it crimp yes but not as easy as they make it seem

Quality tool ignor whiners that cant follow instructions.
I ordered this tool on an emergency. After research I ignored all the bad reviews and placed my order. I had a water leak emergency. All the bad reviews came from people that apparently didn't read the instructions because they couldn't put enough pressure to crimp. I have disabling arthritis... working with #10 vice grips I took one small bite then readjusted after about 4 or 5 steps the crimps were perfect! I have the one step 1/2 inch tool.. I prefer this one now! Thank you so much! BTW price was great shipping was lightning fast!

Not easy to use at all
These got the job done, but they are super difficult to use. I will say that they help out in tight spaces, the fact that they come apart is really helpful.

This is a good tool if you only have a few connections to make. I had a small project on my motor home and only had ten connections to make with half inch PEX. The tool worked well, but I needed a ten inch vice grip to get it to crimp. At times it was difficult to get everything in position and hold it while I squeezed the vice grip. The quality of the tool is good for the price paid so I would recommend it for doing small jobs.

This tool did a good job. Every crimp sealed like it should. It is really not hard to use. Place the correct opening over the crimp ring and squeeze by hand and the tool will usually stay in place. Then clamp down on it with a large pair of vise grip pliers. You need to clamp it several times adjusting the vise grips a little each time until the jaws of the took come together. Instructions included with the tool. If you need to do a whole lot of crimps however, the more expensive crimper would be a better choice.

Package came filthy!
When buying a NEW item I expect to get a new unopened item but instead I get this with the package filthy and the package has been opened before. Very upset with this “new” tools condition.

Not the perfect design but came in handy in a few spots
It wasn't as helpful in the confined spaces as I had hoped. The fact that it is two separate pieces was actually a huge gasket and resulted in a goose egg in my head when it came apart and fell on my head. Ultimately it helped in a few spots but I did end up duct taping the two pieces together.

Regular tool
Not easy to use it

A love-hate relationship
This is a sturdy accurate tool but there are no hinges, adjustments springs or whatever mechanisms which accuracy would justify such a steep price. two molded pieces of metal. Quality metal though. Withstands well the high pressure on the two lips that you clamp close with vice grips (not provided). It takes a lot of practice (and patience at first) to get used to hold it effectively so the two pieces do not separate while maintaining the copper ring at the exact position and grabbing the vice-grips with the other hand to begin locking it in place. Once you get use to it, you will appreciate how it fits in small spots and very close to the wall when installing valves. It is also much easier than the big plier style crimps because you can distribute the amount of strenght required to close the mouths in 5-7 small vice-grip clampings. For the big job I rented a big smooth crimp but for the final touches or retakes, that little tool works really well.

Like a charm
Work as expected... Need to place one half at a time on 3/4 pipe, won't open wide enough to slide over... But it's an easy enough tool to use . I was a little bit worried, as some comments here made it look like it was hard to use. But even with my bad wrist i managed to do the project with this tool. Whole basement copper to pex switch. In tight spot where two hands operation may be difficult... Use one of those large rubber bands to hold it close while placing your pliers . And don't expect to close that ring on one pass... more like 4 or 5... Let the the pliers work their magic... Slowly... It'll save your hands .

It works OK
Good tool if you have one or two crimps to do, Any more then that, get an easier to use one. Hard to line up and you better have strong wrists to clamp those vise grips. Good tool to keep around for an emergency if you don't want to spend a ton of money on good ones.
