A Pole Wrapped with Carpet

I bought this over a month ago to replace a cat scratcher my now deceased husband had made: a pole wrapped with carpet. If I were more handy with tools, I'd have made a replacement myself. I would have liked to have selected a color instead of leaving it up to chance. Even though I would never have picked the color I got, it is a nice shade of blue. And because this cat scratcher is a pole wrapped with carpet, the chances that my cats would use it were excellent. When it arrived, I just had to spray it once with catnip spray to make it as attractive as possible. Once my cats realized how satisfying this cat scratcher is to actually use, I haven’t had to spray it again — and my brand new rug has been saved.

Missing base

The post only came with one base. It’s still functional on one side but it does not seem like a quality post.

Using as ramp for disabled cat

I am using this as a ramp for a disabled cat to get onto my bed. It was the longest I could find; I had tried a 24 inch sisal scratching wall post, but that was too short, as the incline was too steep, even though my bed is only 18" high. At over 3 feet, this is very long, which makes the incline gentle for her, and also is very wide. (She had a reaction to a blood transfusion as a kitten which left her neurologically impaired, but saved her life). The ramp also is quite soft. My fully abled cats enjoy walking up and down the "ramp," as well. I have another solid cat house (Bootsie's bunk bed) at the foot of it so it won't slide, and also tied it to the bed using twine to further secure it. I have it placed along the length of my bed, parallel to it, so my bed provides a bit of a railing which she can lean against if she wanted to help her balance. I am very happy with the length and width of this. Mine was a charcoal color with a pattern on the carpet, close to the photo. I was actually hoping it would be green, as other reviewers had received, to match the decor of my room, but the charcoal color is very neutral and blends in anyway. The top and bottom have little pawprints on the rubberized sections - cute little detail.

Good Horizontal Floor Scratcher

Both of my cats were all over this as soon as I took it out of the box! Lightweight hollow plastic, so I can see it being pulled over by an aggressive scratcher if leaned against the wall, or sliding down. I expected my cats to be able to easily roll it over, but so far it's staying put. Durability is yet to be determined, but seems like it should hold up for some time.

Perfect for my BIG GUY!!!!

My cat is a BIG GUY - not FAT but long legs and big boned. I bought the longest one of these (38") and this is perfect for him. We have had this a few months now and he has used it everyday. I just layed it on the floor and he goes to town on it. Glad I got this one because he uses it daily.

Had to lay it flat on the ground so my cat would scratch it. Leaned it on the wall when I first got it. Cat tried to scratch it and it slid and scared him. He wouldn't go near it until I put it flat on the floor. A shame, too, because my guy is a vertical scratcher and has destroyed the edges of all our chairs!

Excellent As Ramp for Cat!

My cat has become too old to get to the counter where I put her food. I have to put the cat food up high so that the dog doesn't get into it. I set this scratching post up as a ramp to the counter and it works perfectly. It isn't the most attractive carpet, but it solved my problem.

Good product but fabric is different than on the picture

The fabric is different from the picture - mine is black with large greenish swirl pattern. I would prefer a plain colour, but otherwise it's a good product. I have it for more than a year now and I'm quite happy with it.

Love it!

Ideal for cats who love to sharpen their claws on the carpet. My 4 cats love to stretch themselves on the omega paw after their naps and sharpen their claws in the process. I have several of them placet horizontal in different rooms. All of them get used. Me and my cats really love this product!

2匹飼い猫で一年半使えました。立て掛けるより床に置いた方が良いみたい。

長所：ダンボール爪研ぎより、持ちも良くゴミも出ない。インテリアに違和感なく、見た目も見苦しくない。中が空洞ゆえ、処分するのが楽。芯材の木は18mm厚×65mm幅×91.5cm長さでノコギリで切るか割る必要がありますが、プラスチック部分やカーペット生地はタッカーとボンドで芯材に留めてあり、マイナスドライバーやペンチで外せ、カーペットはカッターで切りわけられます。分別さえすればゴミの日に出せそうです。短所：立て掛けず床に置いて使用しているが、両脇のストッパーのプラスチックカバーが人間の足指に当たると激しく痛い。なので黒いクッション材をリピート結束バンドで固定させて使用。我が家の猫達はこれに常に身体をもたれて寝る程気に入っています。後は、柄が選べないのが非常に残念。毎回ラッキーな事に素敵な柄でした！
