Easy one man setup
Finally got around to using this tent 13 months or so after purchase. I got the Compact Short Bed 19066 model and it fits my 2010 Tacoma great. It was fairly easy to setup if you follow the instructions, which are sewn into the storage bag. It is water resistant, but like all tents it will seep in if you touch the wet tent. If you park so that the front of the truck is a little elevated, the bed will stay dry and not create cold spots under you. Be sure to run the rainfly over the tent before putting up the poles, makes it easier to put it on. I had read some reviews where the poles were breaking but with a little care they went in fine. It rained for about three hours while I was camping, and it kept the inside dry the entire time. One thing that I would like changed, is if they could add zippers to the mosquito net on the side windows as well, make it easier to peak outside if a noise is heard toward the front of the truck. Storing it was not too bad, would be better if maybe velcro straps or some kind of sinch strap was included for the poles, but it worked out, tight, but they fit back in the pouch.

Great would buy again
Tent is easy to install, takes about 5-10min to setup once you've done it a few times. The directions are sewed into the tents container so you wont ever lose them. Have used it in the rain and with the rain fly on the tent stays perfectly dry on the inside. Also the tents fabric is pretty durable and doesnt feel like it will rip. Had no issues with it so far.

Set up test
Just received 5/9/23. Tested the ease of set up, by myself, and it was as easy as the instructions say. Hardest part was middle clip between tailgate. A tight fit. To get rain flap on I chose to get on top of truck, found it easier. I like the clip wraps that help protect truck from scratches. Hopefully I'll get to use it this weekend and write another review. This rating for setup only

Tent poles are WEAK
The tent is spacious and comfortable. It is easy to set up and great in almost every way. I have used the tent 4 times since purchasing in January 2023 (now march 2023). In my most recent camping trip, the grey Vestibule tent pole snapped and broke after being set up in the tent for more than 12 hours. There was no outside force applied to the tent pole that caused the snap. It just snapped after being under tension for a day. It was very disappointing, but the tent was still usable for the remaining day/night of the camping trip. I was able to make a warranty claim on the Napier website, but the response time is too long to wait, as i have another camping trip coming up in a couple weeks. Luckily replacement tent poles are relatively cheap on the napier website. $10 for a replacement pole + $15 for shipping. Not sure if i had a defective tent pole or if I will have a similar experience with the replacement.

It works. It's tent that fits in the bed of a truck and it does its job 100% I'm a Happy Camper.
This review is based upon purchasing the product according to the fitment chart provided by the manufacturer. It should be noted that I purchased the Rightline Gear 110766 5 Foot Mid Size Short Truck Tent (5') -Tall Bed and it did NOT fit and there were quite a few quality issues APPLICATION: 2015-2021 Chevrolet Colorado - Crew Cab / Short Bed PRODUCT: Napier Backroadz Truck Tent Compact Short Bed (5'-5'2") Regarding the star ratings: Easy to assemble ... 5 stars - Because it's semi-intuitive and instructions are accurate Warmth .................... 5 stars - Because it's a non insulated tent that was as warm as non-insulated tent should be. I didn't rate 5 stars because it was "warm" Thickness ................. 5 stars - Because it was not advertised as heavy duty or having some construction of some exotic strong materials it was up to expectation for durability While I do rate this a 5 star product, it is 5 star because it delivered on the claims and my expectations based on those claims. This is by no means is a premium tent but a great tent for a great price <$200. Having previously purchased a competitive product over this one purely for aesthetic / color reasons, I got a feel for how the truck bed tent experience could be and have a great comparison point. The Napier Backroadz is by far the superior design, as the recommended fitment was spot-on for my application as listed on their chart. Fitment - The truck bed tent fills the entire bed area. The width and height are spot-on with some extra interior material to spare. Being the Chevy Colorado has tall bed sides in relation to other Mid-Size trucks, this means that other Mid Size truck applications should also enjoy good fitment with additional interior material to spare. Unlike the other truck bed tent, the bed hold down straps are partially elastic which makes positioning and set-up much faster. With the no elastic straps every 1/2" of movement needed on one side had to be relieved in equal amounts on the 3 opposite side straps. The elastic makes for easy centering of the tent and once in position they can be pulled tot for the same kind of tension. Functionality / Size - The intention of the truck bed tent having the tailgate down is to the extend the sleeping area to greater than the 5'2"-5'6" area. This tent's design has a near vertical entrance panel making for the most amount of interior room offered. The other design has a dramatic slope putting your head or your feet within inches of the tent door surface when laying down. Additionally this tent has a nice high roofline. The extra head room is complimented by a "net' shelf at the top for placing lights that may not have hanging provisions ... nice little bonus feature. Design - The biggest plus of this particular truck bed tent is that its completely enclosed. The bed area is not left open meaning the tent will keep out bugs, dust/dirt and have some degree better temperature insulation in just keeping the cold air from blowing in. Having had the competitive product without the interior liner, I can say that with the liner as this tent has, is the only way to go. The other floorless design was marketed as faster to set-up but the process after the first attempt for both was about the same. Initial First time set-up: 34 mins Second time set-up: 15 mins This trip was a success with this product and it worked on the application as advertised and survived 30-40 mph gusts in 30 degree F weather with some snow flurries without any issues. Happy Camper here. Criticisms and Suggestions - While I don't mind branding, the Napier logo on the rain fly is too big and obnoxious. I would not even take a picture of it. - Functionality is great but it could use a little help in the aesthetic design and color choices. - Make a premium model with better insulation / thicker materials / upgraded zippers.

Great Tent
The tent is awesome first night out we had severe thunderstorms and it preformed great. It rained all night and day with lots of wind and we stayed dry. I give it 5 stars for its performance.

Ranger Wildtrak with Mountain Top roller.
Overall excellent value for money, very happy with the buy. I have a Ranger Wildtrak so it’s not ideal for this tent due to the sports hood bit and the roller shutter that’s in place, but it was still easy enough to install and worked a treat even if it didn’t look great from the outside. Assembled it on the ground then lifted it into place, super easy and took 10 minutes tops. The roller shutter turned out to be a decent shelf. Done 2 nights in it, both nights it was warm weather 1st night I made the mistake of zipping every compartment up (doors and windows) and we had some due/condensation build up by the time we awoke, wasn’t a big deal. 2nd night I left one side window open and the roof flap and that solved the issue. Was quick to dismantle and packed away easy. Will be using again fairly soon and I have high hopes that’ll it’ll be able to stand up to some pretty rough weather.

Truck tent
I have a dodge ram 1500 crew cab with short box. Tent fits amazing and lots of room. Photo is without the rain cover (it is included). Will fit over rolled up soft tunnel cover.

Super content de cet achat. Conditions du camping sauvage amelioré, aucun désagrement de sol, vous etes toujours sur du plat. Pas de bestioles rampantes (fourmis, araignées...etc...), pas ou tres peu de saletés (terre/sable, feuilles) pis reste au sec lors de grosses pluies. Une fois que vous savez comment vous y prendre pour la monter, c'est très rapide, soit vous la montez directement dans la boite du pick-up, soit au sol (preference pour le montage au sol, mais parfois pas possible si le sol est détrempé, boueux etc...). Si vous restez plusieurs jours au meme endroit, vous n'etes pas obligés de tout demonter, juste décrocher les sangles de maintient et poser la tente au sol. Idealement ca prendrait un matelas special pour boite de truck, dans mon cas je crois qu'il n'y en a pas pour boite courte...dommage. Un petit conseil, faire attention quand vous passez les structures en fibre dans les chemins de tissus prevus, les tube en acier on fâcheuse tendance a accrocher et risque de déchirure... :/ (pour ca que je ne met que 4 etoiles) Bon roadtrip :D

Great truck tent
Very easy to set up (took about 10 min) and perfect amount of space for 1 person with a camp cot. I sprayed all seems inside and out with tent sealant/waterproofing spray before using. Used the tent on a 4 day hunt and I only encountered a light rain and the rain fly kept the tent perfectly dry. The dome of the tent overhangs the box of the truck in such a way that any rain will not collect in the box of the truck. All in all I’m very happy with the purchase.

A must have if you own a truck and like to camp
Great tent that fit perfectly on our 2019 Tacoma. Quality and durability is excellent would definitely recommend, easy set up and tear down. Comfortable to sleep in and lots of standing room too and also withheld the rain. Definitely worth the purchase!
