Sturdy but a few flaws
I really loved the function of the tent. I enjoyed the tent itself, the height and space. It was super sturdy through the storm that came in. But I could not figure out how to have no gaps on the sides connecting the car. So we ended up with a handful of spiders and bugs in the tent/car. And the top part that goes over the hatch, was letting water in. I had to run out and put a tarp over. There was water in the opposite corners too. I love the concept of the suv tent, but may try a different brand? If I could get the gap issue solved and their tent to not leak in on all sides, I’d really love this brand tent. It held up really well with the wind.

Broken straight out of the box!
I took a chance on this tent because of all the horrible reviews I read before buying it. It was going to be a 50/50 chance and I ended up on the bad side of the 50/50. We bought this tent the week before our trip to Overland Expo East and it arrived within 2 days which was great. And it turned out nice that we were still within the 30 days return window because I've read many reviews of something going wrong and they were out of the return window and couldn't return it, let that be a lesson for you if you order this. Anyways there were really only 3 options out there for a truck bed cap/topper/camper tent that your truck backs into. Napier and Rightline were the main ones and the Napier said you need to waterproof it before you use is and I didn't have time for that so I went with this one. On paper is this is exactly what I needed since we were going to be sleeping in the bed of the truck and just need a place to standup, change clothes, and leave belongings while the truck had to leave and run an off road course at the expo. I was concerned about the height of my truck cap since it is higher than normal truck caps but the tent managed to fit it just fine although I'm not sure if I also had a lift if it would work. So upon opening the box at the expo, we noticed right away that the "upper cross bar" that supports the tent standing up all the way was broken as seen in pic 2. At first we thought we were out of luck but then decided to "jimmy rig" the pole and tried to thread the elastic rope back through the broken sections. We managed to get it through all but the last pole section and we tied a really big knot at the end to hold it. It actually worked for the 3 day stay and held but since we were missing a section the tent did not stay up at the full height but is was just enough for us to move about. Rain proofness: Rain was not expected the 3 days of the Overland expo so we did not put on the rain cap at the top however we did have extreme dew in the morning and it kept it out of the tent. Just don't brush up on the top and it won't get you wet. On the last night we did have light rain 3 times during the night and even without the rain cap it kept the water out of the tent! However we did find moisture under the sleeping pads the next day in the truck bed but that may have been because I did not put the tent cover all the way over the truck cap. I noticed one other guy at the expo that had the same tent and I wanted to ask him his experience but didn't get around to it. Many other reviews complained about the tent zippers getting caught in the tent material and I found the same problem but I just backed the zipper up and pulled it out. Simple fix is make the material around the zipper thicker or longer so as to not catch. Since there is not many options out there for this type of tent I would like to see Right line just put a little more sturdier components into this and I would even pay more for it if they did! I ended up returning the tent due to the broken support beam. I'm sure they could have sent me a new support beam but I didn't want to take a chance and not get it by the return date.

A good tent for campsite use
Used it the first time on Independence weekend. It is a very good tent for campsite stays. It was easy to connect and disconnect from my Surbaru, so I could go back into town, or go find a nearby hiking trail. I got rained on one night and I forgot to put up the rain fly. So, I put it up the next day. The rain fly is way too small to really do any good. I am pleased with my purchase so far. We'll see if it outlasts my Coleman tent which I had for 10 years. Here are a few things I think they should change. 1. The mesh used for where the poles fit are a bad idea. They get caught on every little bit of the pole. Also, I see them possibly getting ripped easily at some point. 2. Getting the poles in and up was very tight. I got it there, but I was worried I was going to bend the pole or rip the tent. 3. The BLACK color cords for securing the corners of the tent are a really bad idea. They are hard to see during the day and impossible to see at night. I nearly took my head off multiple times. Please make these cores some bright neon color or white, not black. 4. Finally the rain fly. As I mentioned earlier. It's rather small, and barely covers the tent. I live and do my camping in the PNW of the USA, so we get a lot of rain. I know I will have to use a large tarp with this to keep myself dry.

Be gentle when pulling on the black straps to tighten down the tent.
One of the black straps on the driver's side broke off when setting up the tent, so don't be too quick in a hurry or be too aggressive with tying down the straps. The door zipper was getting stuck at times, you just have to be patient and not force it. I did like that it had a built-in floor, but I had added an outdoor carpet for the safety of my air mattress. Overall, I loved it because I was able to have immediate access to my glamping tailgate kitchen. Inside the tent I had a queen size air mattress, a 60qt compressor fridge, a 2000W solar generator, a porta potty, some bins, a shoes & boots area and still had enough room for me to move around. I got complements on my set up. I was basically self-sustained in this little tent. I could have slept in my van as I also have a bed in there, but I chose to sleep in the tent. When you break camp, be sure to sweep out and leave the door unzipped so air can escape in order to fold up tightly and put back in its original bag, it can be done.

Works great with a mini van!
I bought this tent to use with our mini van and it worked great. The many adjustable straps help to make a snug fit to keep the bugs out, I also added 4 strong magnets, 2 on each side to help hold the tent to the van just in case moving around in the van loosened anything. I would of liked to give 5 stars but there are a couple of issues that kept me from doing that. First one is when setting up or taking down the tent you need to slide the poles through a netting type fabric and the metal on the poles get caught in multiple places, very frustrating and I was worried about rips. I wished they would of used solid nylon instead of netting material. The other issue is the door, the zipper goes from one side around the top but doesn't zip at the bottom to get in so you need to unzip the whole door to get in and out without tripping on the bottom of the door and then your stepping on the door material unless you gather it up. Not easy if your hands are full of stuff. The rain fly is real easy to put on and the tent is really roomy and the window ventilation is great. Aside from the issues I'm really glad I bought this tent and hope to use it for many years.

DO NOT BUY : Great design, very badly made ! Our tent last only 1 week !!! junk + full price = scam
We purchased that tent for a 2 weeks road trip after reading reviews on their website, and in particular on their blog claiming it would fit our car. This is the review I'm writing after a week of use. Let me tell you something : the tent is already good to be trashed ! What a shock, this is a total scam !!! So first thing, DO NOT BUY THAT TENT unless you can find it at half price (we spent 300 bucks on that one!) and you only want to use it a couple times. * design is great. The tent mostly fits our car. It it well designed, convenient and easy to install. * fabric used is decent, it is kinda waterproof. It is OK for the price, but I'll have to spray it to keep it waterproof. I can already see dark patches when fabric is absorbing moisture. * mesh are terrible and are ripping off after 5 nights (see pictures). This is the cheapest mosquito mesh you can find. * sewings are HORRIBLE. It's made to last for a couple weeks. One strap ripped off on first set up !!! sewing broken !!! really ??? * Zippers are a piece of.. you know what. They used the base price zippers, and they are badly sewed. Expect them to break quickly. And the main door zip is constantly jamming. So this tent does fit our 2014 Ford Transit Connect (liftgate back door). BUT it's neither fully waterproof nor mosquito proof. We had 2 downpours so far, and we end up having a bit a water on the floor. Nothing bad, it's still acceptable. But after a week, sewings are falling apart, mosquito netting is falling apart, this tent is just a piece of junk. Buy a tent at full price, get a cr*ppy product ? THIS IS A SCAM. I'm fine with buying cheap products that don't last, but when I spend 300 bucks, I want a product that is reliable and build with decent materials. This is not the case here. Now my wife and I have to finish our road trip with a tent that is not mosquito proof (July, Quebec and NB,... good luck to us !) and barely waterproof. And I know that as soon as I'm back, I will have to spend HOURS to repair it, redo sewings, change the mesh, change zippers.. to finally have a product I can use again. THANK YOU RIGHTLINE FOR SELLING THAT JUNK AT THE PRICE OF GOLD. I will post that review on every single social network available, and I hope I'll find other people like me who have been fooled by your good marketing to spread the word. I hope that you will hear me and drastically change your materials and construction factory. In 2015, you can't do business like that. People end up knowing that you're selling bad products. And that's a pity because the design of your tent was good !

adds lots of space for camping
The only issue with this tent is that it does not strap tightly to the truck and cap. There is a fair amount of space between them that allows mosquitoes in. It could be possible that I'm just doing it wrong or the curves of the truck are different then this is designed for. Otherwise it works great and adds lots of extra room, easy to put up and looks good.
