Temper ES Material. Soft/Medium Soft

This topper consists of what Tempur-Pedic calls its “ES” or Extra Soft foam. This foam is used in the top layers, or “comfort layers” in almost every temper mattresses on the market. This foam is soft 200lbs+ and medium soft 200lbs and less. The sole purpose of this foam is to provide a soft, pressure relieving, feeling and effect. It is not meant to firm up your mattress or to provide lots of back support, etc… it is ideal and amazing for side sleepers, and avg weight back sleepers, but should not be used my stomach sleepers. This material is nothing like the Temper original material found on previous topper from Temper-Pedic which is a much more dense, firmer foam. I hope that helps, there seems to be a lot of confusion about what material is in this topper. Its Temper ES.

Cooling comfort BUT….

I purchased this Tempur-Pedic topper December of 2020. It is now January 2023. This has topper has been my saving grace (pain relief) for my back, hips and shoulders. I had purchased a $900 twin extra long mattress that by all reviews showed promise for pain relief, it was unfortunately too firm for me. So I purchased this wonderful topper, it has helped tremendously for back, shoulder and hip pain. The big BUT is that it slides around on the mattress to such an extreme every three days I have to remove the mattress protector and sheet to fix it. My Husband and I upgraded to a Tempur-Pedic $4000 king mattress (about 7 months ago) which is still too firm for me so this topper is and has been used everyday for over two years. The top part of the cover washes up nicely. I wish the bottom part had some grip to it so I didn’t have to struggle with keeping it on our mattress properly.

Acts like a true Tepur-Pedic mattress

Thought it would be far less comfortable and not work as well as an original Tempur-Pedic mattress but sleep on one original and this cover. Can't tell the difference. Great value for the money

The answer to a mattress mistake

Cannot speak highly enough of this mattress topper. We took a chance a few months ago and bought a Casper mattress sight unseen. We were trying to get used to it and eventually the 100 day trial came and went. It wasn’t until after that we began to realize we were waking up with more aches and pains than we had ever had with any old mattress. It began to become so troublesome that I was seriously considering dropping thousands on another new mattress because I was In agony every day from my back. Then I started reading about mattress toppers and many online lists mentioned this one as the best. My wife and I are both side sleepers and we found the Casper mattress too firm. I decided to take a chance and I’m so glad I did. For a fraction of the cost of a new mattress we completely changed our sleep experience. I am a side sleeper and this topper is comfortable while still being supportive. Our mattress was way too firm and I would wake up with horrible pain at pressure points like hips, shoulders and low back. This topper has completely solved that. The only caveat to this review is that we’ve only had it for a month so I can’t speak to its longevity, but it is amazingly comfortable and a definite consideration if you’re dealing with a mattress that’s too firm and causing you pain. I wish I had listened to other reviewers

First off, this arrived with a stain and a few small tear holes. Second, I have to agree this does not fully fit a queen mattress. I didn’t think this would be a problem being an inch or two short on each side but after sleeping on it and having it slide around and end up with a 4” gap near the headboard one night I decided this was not working. I also agree with other reviews that this does not sleep cool more than 15 minutes. Unless you plan to continuously move to a new spot throughout the night or sleeping hot is not a concern for you - this topper is not for you. Lastly, it is quite difficult to get into the cover which makes the idea of washing it sound like a dreaded chore. And, yes, the cover did have an unpleasant chemical / plastic smell upon arrival. So for positive points I do have a couple. It is quite comfortable and supportive while still giving in areas it should - it conforms to your body nicely. We also tested the movement absorption against our last topper and were quite impressed. Overall, not really worth the money paid - especially for it to arrive flawed. Likely we will return.

Comfortable but Not Cooling

This mattress pad is comfortable. It helps with pressure points and pain in the joints while sleeping. However it is definitely not cooling. It gets just as hot as any other memory foam product.

Plush Heaven for Side sleeper.

Last year I bought a cheap pillow top spring mattress. as I am a heavy guy it didn’t last long. I spent a couple months looking at YouTube reviews and going to different stores - a couple were open during the pandemic lockdown here. Very few of the mattress I looked at seemed to be good for a side sleeper like me at over 300 lbs. The Purple Hybrid 4 seemed like the mattress that I could sink into the most, but I wasn’t sure about how well it would handle my weight long term; plus it’s real expensive. The temperpedic seemed like the nicest of the memory foam mattresses but were also expensive and really didn’t give me that soft sink in feeling I was looking for as a side sleeper. Ultimately I bought first a latex topper from Avacado which did make my bed softer but wasn’t plush enough. So next I bought this Temperpedic topper (soft plush 3 inch foam model) and put it on top of my latex topper. I now love how I sink in. Since I have shoulder pain the memory form topper is position about 15 inches from the top of the bed so my arm and shoulder sleep on the Latex topper while the bulk of my body from the shoulder down is under the temper pedic. I works great for me. The memory foam topper actually seems plusher than the $1800 plush beds. On thing for sure you will want the cooling case for the topper as this memory foam gets warm at night-part of the reason I am using the latex below it although I am considering getting 2nd temper pedic topper to play with. The toppers are easily easier to taken on and off the beds than a full heavy mattress. I recommend both a latex and this memory foam topper if you don’t know what type of bed you want.

Not as advertised

The mattress topper was extremely soft, actually caused my back to be worse. it is advertised as a medium firm topper, it was as soft as could be, almost like a feather duvet , causing us to fall in to a "PIT"

Dreamland After Airing It Out

Absolutely the softest sleep you'll have. My joints have relief again, finally! Love it just like the original model full layered Tempur Pedic I bought at 5x the price. One thing though, it needs to be aired out as it decompresses. I let it air out outside for one full sunny day, then in the basement for about a week. Perfect!!!
