Very tough

Very tough but I discovered if you install the base bracket at 45 degrees, you don't need this part unless gate is extremely heavy or fighting high winds.

Super customer service

My gate has worked great for years. After rebuilding my gate after Hurricane Ida, I realized the old push to open bracket was too short. I called customer service and was given the part number for this longer one. When trying to order a new pair, the agent alerted me they were available on Amazon Prime for 30% less, and free shipping. Wow. I highly recommend this company.

These brackets are stout! They integrated perfectly with my pre-existing Linear 2002 pro gate closer.

Not exactly what is needed for the mighty mule gate opener

First, when you buy the Mighty Mule gate opener, it doesn't tell you that you need this piece. My husband discovered this on ONE video he watched about how to install the gate arm. But this piece doesn't even fit correctly and we had to have a friend, who was helping with the install and happens to do welding, manipulate this piece to do what it's supposed to do. C'mon Mighty Mule - why not just include ALL the right parts so customers don't start out frustrated. Grrrr.....

Works great for it's intended purposes

Bought this to prevent my pull to open gate from binding when it opens. This didn't solve that problem, it just created more problems. I ended up having to redo the posts and many other tweaks to the stupid gate. If you're thinking of buying this to solve a problem that isn't "Push to Open" then rethink it, it's binding because of another reason. Of course you could be like me and hope that a $15 fix is better/easier than redoing your posts and moving the gate around. (You'd be right, it's cheaper and easier, unless of course it doesn't work and now you've got a $15 MM hinge laying around that you can't use.). That said, we bought one earlier for my mother and her push to open gate (it's original, intended purpose) and it worked like a champ. Well made, thick, just like the hinge that came with the gate, but longer so you have more reach.

I hate surprises like this!! Why doesn’t this come with the gate opener?

Half way through installation you realize you have to order a part if you want push to open. I feel product should come with everything for push or pull, didn’t like the surprise. I do like this gate opener though, so far it works well. Side note, the mighty mule battery did not work, I was able to return it and used a generic solar battery that was larger. After all surprises and frustrations, the gate opener is nice.
