Decent and ?only? Electical Dust Gates

These work well enough, though a little wd40 helped them be much much smoother!! I'd prefer non spring ones like the original gates I had found, but really after some searching these are about the only things I could find even approaching reasonable cost.I wish they had a bit longer neck to give a bit more room to get a hose clamped on. They also feel a bit flimsy, but doesn't so far seem to impact function.

Good after I modified them

I added weatherstripping to seal up some what better. And a handle to make opening and closing easier. Have 10 in use and have been very happy with turn on-off function

Leaks and only works on 220V

If your dust collector is 110V don't buy these, PSI no longer makes the Long Ranger in 110V. As soon as you open the gate you loose a ton of vacuum from the back of the gate, I had to tape it closed ( see picture).

Easy to install.

Have an older dust collection control system that is no longer made. Needed a couple blast gates and these work great.

Time-Saver

This thing has absolutely cut my working time in HALF in my little garage-based shop. I've got them on all the ports in my collection duct system now, and they're wired to the controller. Just reach up, open the gate, and the system all the way on the other end of the shop turns on. You're ready to rock and roll!

Very Good Gate

Works as described. I dissembled mine and smoothed the casting internal flat surfaces to increase the chances of a better seal when the dust collector is on. I have about 8 of these in my shop with some in operation for 5 or more years using the Long Ranger power source and all have worked every time.

Good Value, but

Only problem is they leak a little each and when you have ten it can add up. What I do is point slide opening down and slicone edges to make a better seal. This helps stop dust build up in tracks. Amazon has a good price on these

They worked rougher and rougher as they got older. Some stuck completely.

These gates stick a lot and sometimes jam completely. Opening the gate activates a switch that activates my dust collector. They are very rough and don't work as smoothly as I would like, but they are OK if you don't mind fighting with them. The springs sometimes slip off and the door sometimes gets pulled too far and comes out, so I have to be careful with them. Also, they don't always close all the way to shut off the dust collector and I have to give them an extra little push.
