Worked great

A week of training my little dog to come to the whistle by using treats as reinforcement. And now when he's got a full head of steam and won't come to his name I blow the whistle and he turns right around and comes to me

Very Nice Whistle

This is a sturdy, well made, high quality whistle. This is a great whistle for dog recall. I purchased this to train my dog to come to 5 pips on a whistle. You can blow it and make a nice pip without being too loud. I was worried that it would make too much noise and be a disturbance to others around me or damage my hearing. That is not the case with whistle. If you need to you can blow very loud if you need your dog to hear you from far away or in windy conditions. Under normal conditions with a very light blow you can make a nice quiet sound that is perfect your dog, and does not disturb others or attract too much attention from others that may be around.

I love it. The dog isn't so sure.

I have a sitehound, and so it is incredibly difficult to get their attention once they lock onto something of interest. Yelling their name is pointless, clickers are a joke ... and especially if your greyhound/whippet/longdog etc gets away from you unexpectedly, they are at full speed in 3 bounds or so, putting them blocks away and in serious trouble in seconds. I can't say this whistle -- WITH TRAINING -- will break through, but it is a damn sight better than hollering. My dog at least looks up and seems to be associating the sound with me (and treats), so it appears to be working great.

Good little whistle!

Perfect for what I wanted it for which was teaching my pup recall. I blow it, she comes running! No lanyard which would have been nice, but fits nicely in my pocket, so that’s all good. Rubber band shown did come on mine. Not sure what that does, but it’s still on there.

I didn't realize they came with peas in them so I removed them so they wouldn't freeze during winter hunts. Good sound quality. Dogs response well to them. I wish they would've come with a lanyard though. I do recommend if you are going to whistle train your dog (or kids).

Loud whistle

This is a whistle, not a miracle worker. It is loud and easily heard. If the dog wants to respond, that's an other question. This is my personnel experience with an intelligent, independent and stubborn Giant Schnauzer. It does not reflect the results with a more docile dog. I bought this whistle because I am having problems with call back outside. Sadly, if this girl is busy with something, no whistle or enticement will convince her to abandon a project. This whistle was not the right tool for me. Again, this is "my" situation. The whistle does what it is supposed to do.

Shrill, but not too loud dog training whistle.

This is one of the major brands that most retriever trainers use as they are shrill and not too loud, so the dog hears it ok, and you don't disturb other people nearby. I've used the Roy Gonia whistles for all my dogs for a period of over forty years....yes, I'm an old guy/LOL!
