Excellent
EDIT: I have taken off 2 stars as this leaks when you carry it from the bed to drain it. It didn’t happen before but this time it had much more water in it. Even so, I think it’s a good buy. I’ll just drop towels on the floor to catch leaks when it’s time to carry it full, to the sink. Not ideal but better than using the vinyl inflatables which can’t support a person’s head, and they also split open after a bit. I can’t imagine that there is a perfect product to wash the hair of a person in bed, but this comes close. I tried an inflatable plastic product that was a mess; completely inefficient and not durable at all. I returned that and was grateful to find this. It works well for my daughter who is bed bound and has short hair. As other reviewers have said, it is bulky and a little heavy, but the good thing about that is that it is durable. The area where you place the person’s neck is indeed hard but it didn’t bother my daughter. I was amazed that no water got onto her bedding at all after washing her hair. Overall I think the design is excellent and a success. I’m very happy I bought this and highly recommend it.

Recommend this item.
The product is a blessing for my family member in long term bedrest. She has long hair and is able to get a proper shampooing. The sink is more comfortable than it looks. When I first opened it, I thought it would be uncomfortable but it isn’t especially given that I add a towel at the neck. Some people were concerned about cleaning it, but I swish the interior with soapy water and then leave both caps off so that the inside can air dry. So far that has worked. It is a bit clunky for a short woman such as myself, however that is an inconvenience not a problem. I have recommended this item to others that need it for bed bound or ill loved ones and may donate some myself.

PERFECT!
I REALLY like this product! My daughter is multiply disabled- she needs her hair washed daily but can only handle a bath every 3 days or so. We have previously used the blow up hair washing basins and while they worked there were a lot of things I did not like about them. She does;t l;ike putting her head all the way back and so she often got VERY wet with the blow up kind...I had no choice but to put less air in them than you;re supposed to in order to wash her hair. Plus I had to replace them every couple months. The price on this was kind of steep but when I added up all the $30 blow up basins we have bought over the years it started looking a LOT better! We don't use this plastic head washing system exactly like the picture tho. There is no way my daughter will put her head in the little neck spot. I put her far enough up on the shoulder part that her head in suspended above the basin and wash her hair like that. It works wonderfully and her shirt only gets a little wet as opposed to soaked all the way down. She is not confined to bed so the wetness is not an issue for us. I love how easy it is to dump this and clean up after myself! I was worried that not all the water would come out of the hollow section when dumping but the drain is huge and positioned to where all the water can be dumped out and no water stays in there to get all scummy and gross. Very pleased with this product! We use it with the EZ-shower https://smile.amazon.com/Ez-access-Ez-shower-Bedside-Shower-Pounds/dp/B000JQMHME/ref=pd_bxgy_328_img_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=2ZEBNHN44QW1C1JKXS0H

Just What the Doctor Ordered
My wife's health has deteriorated from MS to the point where helping her out of bed for a change of sheets is a very painful process. The shower chair is no longer an option. After looking at the inflatable units, whose long-term durability I did not find adequate, I decided to bite the bullet and go for the best that I could find. Due to its' rigidity, and, therefore, potential for discomfort, I ordered this unit. Turned out to be just what the doctor ordered, no pun intended. My health care aide and I are able to situate it partially over the end of the head of the bed, and, thus, keep it evenly flat. An old towel, doubled up, provides both more neck comfort, and, and additional water barrier. The home health care aide loved it, and, the Mrs. felt comfortable using it. You loosen both plugs during use to ensure that the water drains from the bottom into the reservoir. No sloshing around in used water. You tighten both plugs when finished, and, using the built-in handle, tote it off to the tub, or, outside for easy drainage. I do recommend using the optional plastic water bag with spray head, and, also, acquiring and extendable IV pole to hang it from. A very handy, mobile solution that I highly recommend.

Invaluable for my bed-bound mom
My 86 year old mom is in a nursing home and is bed bound. So washing her hair was just impossible. I began searching the internet, and after finding a few products to choose from, I decided on this. And I am so glad I did. It works wonderfully. I lay a lawn bag around my mom's shoulders and then after I've positioned her in the tub, I lay the bag into the tub. So no water flows out at all. When I'm done, I lift her head and put the entire bag into the bowl -- and no water gets out at all. It's pretty much a 2 person job, because one has to lift mom's head while the other positions the tub. The first time, I put a rolled hand towel under her neck to cusion it -- bad idea. Water crept down it, and got her wet. Anyway, I soap her head, rinse and then drain the water into the holding tank, then rinse her hair, drain the water, and then seal it up and carry the tub to the sink to dump the soapy water out. Remember to undo the large knob when draining water, so air can help with the draining. (Like when you use a gas can) This product is WONERFUL. What luxury for my mom!

My mom found it painful to have that handle section under her shoulders and neck, plus it leaks.
Great idea but an expensive mistake. The handle section that goes under the person’s neck and shoulders was too bulky and hard to properly position her without great discomfort (even when we tried it with some towels to provide cushion). Despite tightening the stoppers with the rubber gaskets it leaked from both the basin drain and larger cap.

Sturdy & nice to have- just doesn't drain good.
My mom had a stroke that has left it difficult to wash her hair. This is sturdy enough for her to lay down in bed and wash her hair. The only problem I have is that the drain doesn't drain very good and I have to scoop most of the water out of the basin before I can remove it from under her.
