Save Yourself A Lot of Work and Provide Comfort At The Same Time By Buying This Basin

We purchased this basin because my husband had surgery and had to be in bed for a month. A few years ago, he was in a facility for 2 months and unable to get out of bed. What a nightmare. I had to push the heavy bed that he was in, into the bathroom where he hung his head over the side of the bed and I used the shower head to wash his hair. I got just as wet as his hair did. There was nothing available to wash his hair with! The shampoo caps that patients are given just make the patient's hair greasy a day after using them. There are hard molded shampoo trays on the market. Believe me, they're not comfortable for the patient and they're hard to deal with. This basin was easily inflated. My husband enjoyed the small head rest that's in the basin. He was also happy that ALL of the water went easily down the drain tube and into a bucket. We didn't need towels, etc. on the bed. I used a plastic cylinder to rinse his hair with. I would now try my large plant waterer for rinsing. They also have a water bag that hangs on an IV pole, that would be the easiest way to go for water. I didn't know about the bag until I looked at the basin box. It was easy to deflate and pack when husband was allowed to get out of bed. I highly recommend this product!!!!

Love It

Hello everyone. So I Love love love to pamper Tequila Mama!!! You all know she is off Tequila and now loves Stella Atois's and doughnuts!! Recently her grey was showing and it was time for a girl pamper day!! Mani/pedi and hair color!!! I love this thing... I know it had some mixed reviews but It worked well for me. It just depends on your expectations. In the past I was doing the million towels in the bed to absorb all the water and a WHOLE LOT OF MESS and a whole lot of laundry !!! So I colored Mama's hair "Butter blonde" very nice. I used the basin as instructed. It was wonderful because it caught 80% of all the water during coloring. 80% folks that's good in my book!!!! If you want 100% it's not for you. Your loved one still needs to raise their head to get the dye off the back of their hair but it wasn't a problem if they cant because the basin is so soft. Also it doesn't stain with hair dye. It is very large and the drain tube needs help to drain but still not a problem for me. I would still put some towels under the basin as well. I would recommend anyone to get one of these especially if you take pride in good compassionate care. Mama felt like a new girl. She got too tired for the pedi but did get her mani that day.

This thing is great

I only used it once so far, but it was a MUCH better experience to soak my dreadlocks than the tub/bucket setup I was using. You can lay back comfortably and have your neck cradled softly with no worries of spilling. I did create a bit more of an incline by putting a towel under the basin where your neck goes (so that it didnt spill out). My only complaint is that I wasn't able to really soak ALL my dreads in because they are pretty long (almost to my waist). But that's not a huge dealbreaker. I don't know why I waited so long to get this! Highly recommend for dread soaking/deep cleaning.

Size & shape good for long hair

I prefer the shape & size of this inflatable shampoo basin over the round ones. I have long hair & the larger size makes it easier to wash & thoroughly rinse out the soap/conditioner. My only complaint is that the seams in the neck area are rough & scratch. I have a short neck so it hits me on my cheeks & jaw and scratches. *(I may have forgotten to send this review when I originally wrote it. Oops. Addeled brain as well as paralyzed legs.) I've seen one advertised that is seamless in that area, but neglected to check on this one when I ordered it. This problem can be solved by using a towel over the area, just be prepared for that towel to get wet. It actually works even better if you just let a little air out of the area where the neck goes.

Safety concerns

Edit July 2018. My Mom just passed away so we've been using this for a little over two years now. Just a few days before she passed was the last time we used it and it has sprung a leak and was self deflating-however we did find that being nearly half deflated it worked much better and still kept the water in. So my suggestion is that if you buy this product (Please read my initial review below first) is to deflate it enough so that the bottom chamber is full but not tight and the far top section is not inflated much at all. Overall, I'm glad my Mom was able to have clean hair for the VERY LONG goodbye post stroke. ;(. Nothing worse than laying in bed with dirty hair. Yuck. Good luck and God Bless. Safety concerns. The neck opening is extremely small making it difficult for the patient to lay in without pressing on both sides of the neck which may cause injury or irritation to vessels within the neck. Next time we will under inflate the upper chamber to not irritate my moms neck. Pictures included.

Caregiver experience review

This product is a great low cost option for washing hair on bed ridden individual. I have personally used this product for years when caring for my two disabled daughter's. As with any product with frequnt use, you will have to replace it after a couple of years of repeated use as the seams do wear out. I also dry mine out after each use to prevent molding. I have purchased more expensive models, but have always come back to this one. This model is more comfortable under the users neck verses more expensive hard plastic. It is cheap and easy to replace. It is portable and can travel easily when your loved one is in the hospital or you need to travel. The portable shower pairs well with this item. Place a bed pad or two under the unit to prevent the bed from getting wet.

Not the same

Not the same product as in the picture. The neck area did not look the same as in the picture. When inflated, the upper tube neck area was more of a pointed shape and not that even as in the picture. So it was very uncomfortable for the user, almost felt like it was choking you.

Práctica 100% recomendable

Práctica y fácil de usar, el espacio a los lados del cuello es un poco reducido pero no molesta, lo recomiendo para personas que no se pueden mover. La manguera de abajo no drena el agua porque se aplasta, pero no hay mayor problema, se puede sacar el agua con una cubeta chiquita y listo.

Easy, light & works well

Works great for mom’s hair wash as she is immobile. Easy use, light to move and durable [used for almost 1 year now] The facility used shower caps [eww] before this came along.

Uncomfortable

It is not as pictured....the comments are right, the neck opening is small, there are plastic seams on each side of the neck opening. Very sad that the company does not bother to update the picture so that buyer can make an informed decision. Clearly they can read customers are unhappy and dissatisfied but not a peep from them. A company that sells to those with special needs should have more heart and reach out...my opnion
