Won't use anything else!
First off, I am not a professional face painter, by any means! However, when it comes to Halloween, we go all out for our costumes and makeup. For several years, I used the giant eye pencils for the majority of our Halloween makeup, as the store-bought grease paint was just not going to cut it! The eye pencils allowed for full coverage, dried quickly, and allowed for layering with other shadows and liners. However, there were also impractical, with all of the sharpening, and they could easily get expensive. So, I began looking for an alternative, without having to invest in expensive professional makeup. A few years ago, I took a chance on one black and one white Snazaroo container, after reading lots of positive reviews. I was surprised to find that it was even better than I'd hoped! It is so easy to use Snazaroo face paints. You just need water, a sponge, and a paintbrush. Depending on the amount of water you use, it can go on really thin or pretty thick. I tend to go thin and repeat several layers, until I reach the desired color and coverage. This paint dries within seconds, so layering and blending is not an issue. It can be challenging to paint light colors over dark, which is to be expected. I try to do the light sections before the dark. With a good paintbrush, it is easy to paint intricate details- which was a really important consideration for us. It is also important to note that this paint is water-based. This means that it is extremely breathable and washes off easily (practically rinses off). I usually have this on my face for several hours at a time, and it is really durable. Obviously, it wears off of your lips when you eat or drink, so minor touch-ups might be necessary. This paint is extremely high quality and the colors are vibrant. The amount of paint you get per cake provides a really great value- especially considering I used to spend the same amount per jumbo eye pencil! We get countless compliments every year, and many ask where we get our makeup done. You cannot go wrong with Snazaroo! Lastly, and most importantly, is the safety of these paints. We all have pretty sensitive skin, and try to stay away from most fragrances, artificial colors, and other irritating ingredients. However, no one in the family has experienced any negative reactions to this paint. We won't use anything other than Snazaroo! This kit was a great way for us to start our collection- and we have continued to add to it each year. We know that it will serve us well for years to come!

Wife Loves It!
We did a lot of reading about face-painting supplies and such before we bought this, and the one thing we kept reading about Snazaroo is that it wasn't well-suited to detail work. But others seemed to love it. Since my wife is a pretty experienced artist, we wondered if maybe the people who'd been reviewing it weren't using it properly. We bought the set, and my wife is very, very happy. She says that you have to use quite a bit of water to get the paint to flow well, but that it's perfectly usable. The nice thing about Snazaroo is that they apparently put the work into testing and such to make sure their paints are safe for use. At the event she was at, there was some other cheap craft shop face paint, and the warning labels on it were scary. Certain colors you weren't supposed to use anywhere near the eyes. Other colors you weren't supposed to use anywhere near the mouth. What's the point of face painting if you can't actually paint somebody's whole face? In addition to the Snazaroo kit, we picked up an extra set of Snazaroo brushes, a few car-washing sponges from the dollar store (cut them with scissors - they work great!), and a cheap spray bottle. Everything fit nicely into the Snazaroo tote. Couldn't be happier with our Snazaroo!

My favorite brand
My mom had this when I was growing up. Now as a mom I bought one so I can face paint at birthday parties, Halloween, and just for fun when we have friends over. Kids of all ages (and adults) love it!! Easy to use, bright colors, a little goes a long way. Great for sensitive skin

So amazing!
I somehow managed to involve myself in two face painting events a week apart with no experience. At the even last week we used some paints purchased from a local craft store by the event organizers - they were terrible. The paints stained, clumped off, melted into blobs etc. I was nervous for the next event that I would be in charge of so I desperately went searching for another option - and found Snazaroo! The wonderful reviews convinced me to give it a try. The set only arrived today but I had so much fun and was so relieved with how delightful my quick test went that I had to come online and praise this wonderful product right away! One big problem with the other stuff was how it dried out and got clumpy - I was amazed to discover that this paint is dry and becomes liquid when dabbed at with a damp brush. It's so easy to use and it came off easy - which is good since I covered my whole face. Love it!

Lots of Fun...
I bought this kit on a whim to use over the holidays. My kids, nieces, and nephews thought it was so fun to get their faces painted. I've never painted faces before, and thought this was very easy to use and went on really smooth. It's not the "greasy" sort of cheap paint you buy at the drugstore on Halloween, it actually dries and stays on kids' faces very well (yet, washes off easily). There's plenty of product, and is a perfect starter kit if you want to paint faces at a birthday party, picnic, Halloween, or any other type of event. For basic designs, you don't need anything more than what's in the box. After the holidays, I decided to purchase an extra pan of bright pink, and some sparkly body glitter, since the girls tend to want princesses and butterflies. I'll probably eventually add a pan of purple, too.

A good starter kit
I received a couple damaged pots of paints which is why I did not give this product a 5 star rating. The product was reasonably priced and that greatly influenced my decision to buy it. It contained all the basic colours I wanted and simple instructions for beginners. The paint is easily removed from the skin and doesn't stain my daughter's face. I bought this set to be able to paint my daughter's face and allow her to paint her own designs since she kept using any marker or pen to do so. It is a great starter kit.

Bon produit!!

Excellent.
The Snazaroo face paints are perfect, I've used them before as I volunteer doing craft and so on and often do face painting at events/parties so I'm familiar with the brand and the art and finally decided to get my own kit together. The item arrived quickly and without any fuss it was well worth the price especially for the handy container. The paints go on easily and wash off easy too though stays when you want it to, I have sensitive skin but these paints do not dry or irritate my skin at all no matter how long I have it on. The only point I'd make it that if you wasnt an even white base I would reccomend the Snazaroo Clown Makeup not the regular paints, even coverage is doable with these paints but it required patience. The container is perfect as well, its like a little toolbox and the clasps and handle are sturdy enough to comfortably hold all my items. The basic colours are great and I had already purchased 12 other colours/paints and they all fit neatly into the box including sponges, booklet, brushes and glitter. I personally prefer glitter dust and a glitter adhesive to the goo that comes with this back, though it does work perfectly well I'm just a bit of a perfectionist. Only two sponges come with the kit, I've cut one up into thirds and the other is intact so I can use it for large covers, obviously more are necessary to get the most out of face painting especially if you're like me and are working with a minimum of 18 different colours so I added makeup sponges/blenders to my collection which work just as well as the snazaroo sponges though the sponges in the kit have one very nice feature that they never seem to absorb too much water unlike others. The brushes are of great quality and absorb the paint well for use but also clean without diffculty, I do wish they had a better selection of sizes and the other snazaroo brushes cost quite a bit but I've simply added my own brushes to the collection, my rule is don't do to someone's face what you wouldn't do to youre own, if you have doubs about a brush to use then dont use it. If you'd like to be extra safe the Snazaro ones do work well (i use them when volunteering) but generally make up brushes will do the trick just as well too. The booklet...well...i'm not throwing it out. The booklet has many designs which anyone can do really and I think thats why it doesn't quite click with me. Its full of designs that don't require artistic talent and therefore are not that creative but show several ideas. For example, the booklet contains a design for a tiger and it has the basic staples, white at the temples, cheeks and chin, yellow and orange, the shape of the cat nose and lips and some stripes but I'f you look at a real tiger or even face paint examples on the internet you'll see just how basic and underdeveloped the design is. I'm keeping the booklet more for inspiration, I'll look to their version of a pirate and think 'now what can I do to build onto that design' and I'll work into it with better facial hair and markings etc. Anyway, perfect little product, I love what I can do with it, the paints last for a long time and they give great results each time, I'd reccommend to anyone who enjoys face painting or want to give it a go, because really no amount of equipment or booklets is going to make you a good face painter if you don't practice. My only problem would be that for those thinking this is all you need to become a prfessional face painter it is miles off. It tells you nothing on 'how to become a face painter' the booklet is like a picture book not a guide, for example I know many peoplewho have been face painting and don't know about insurance or how to register with FACE etc so if you are looking to become a face painter in your career look on the internet on just how to do that.

Good Quality & Value!
Highly pigmented, easy to apply and remove. The sponges and brushes were decent quality and useful, and the hard plastic carry-case had plenty of room to add moisturizer, baby wipes, and a pack of body art crayons, plus stick-on gems and extra applicators. The included glitter gel was a bonus, and goes a long way - if you apply gently with a sponge, not a brush! This set has enough paint to last me through at least half a dozen big community events, then I'll probably have to get refills of black and white. I did notice the black paint puck started to get squishy and not load the brush as well after a few hours of working in the hot sun with nearly constant wetting. Maybe keeping it cool and switching between 2 black pucks every few faces would help avoid this.

bargin starter set. must have in the cuboard for children of all ages!! bargin price
i got very excited when i saw the price of this set! and brought it without any hesitation! the box is a good size andf the 3 brushes of good quality. the sponges are put to better use if you cut them up... the book, more so a leaflet, is rubbish to be honest!... your best bet is googling what face design you require or watching youtube videos for inspiration!! ive a near 4 year old, who although cant sit still for more than 30 seconds, loves having her face painted. i like to think that im good at arty things, but there is a talent to facepainting and a lot of paciance required.. im rubbish in the few weeks weve had the kit ive managed a few things - butterflies (my littlew girls favourite request), a skull and crossbone and a pretty swirling glitter patern, not very adventorous i know! im sure we will get lots of use out of it in the not too distant future..im tempted to practice on myself!!

Great!
We love the Snazaroo face paints, they always give perfect results. I’ve seen previous reviews stating they are always dried out… well, they are SUPPOSED to be. You add water with your brush or sponge, as per the directions. These are awesome.
